basically he rates music based on how much enjoyment he gets out of it. 0 means there is pretty much nothing that made his time listening to the album worth it and 10 is pretty much everything was entertaining to an extent. 5, being right in the middle, means that half of it gave him enjoyment somehow. 7 means the good outweighs the bad more than just a little bit and he enjoyed this album
I know how he said a 7 is good and it is however I atleast do not like the fact that he gave lil pump, Aminé, and lil yachty a 7 as well, I even like Aminé but I believed limbo deserved a 5 not a 7 now I do believe that Kendrick did sell out with the trap sound but still I see an 8 as the lowest

I assumed this review would be garbage because everyone hates it, but yo, Melon actually gives it a lot of praise, and a very detailed ANALYSIS. He obviously approaches it as a complex artistic statement (which is how any Kendrick album should be approached) as well as an album, and has a lot of deep and insightful things to say about it.

I think reviews are ALWAYS better without scores. Numbers just take away good discussion. Guess people just want an easy way to describe the quality of music

shouldn't really look at it from a numerical perspective, seeing as he says 'I'm feeling', so its more to give a rough estimate as to how much he enjoyed it. Also waka 1.5 was pretty great, still waiting on 2.0 :(

I'm not into much current rap/hip hop ( I love old school rap) but Kendrick is the exception. I think he's one of if not the most talented and influential rappers out here today and stands out head and shoulders among his peers.
