there's a live version of New Day profesionally recorded by Moshcam that's amazing! actually there's a couple of full shows recorded, All of which have New Day, but i'd recommend the version with the most views. Although all shows are amazing. Shit, all karnivool is amazing!
"Simple Boy" is one of my favourites from Karnivool! Straight to the point intro, mid-section with cranked reverb for the drums, then the feel changes entirely, great piece of music!
I've been listening to this for years and this but a taste of what they are made of. Every song has a different feel and that's what's gorgeous about these guys
I think COTE is one of karnivools best tracks. I have had the privilege of hearing the evolution of their sound as I know the band personally. It's awesome to see how far these guys have come and cannot wait for album number 4
Thanks for checking out Vool. No shortage of fans here. They're my favourite band right now. Like I mentioned in another vid, check out Aeons @ Ghost City... unbievable musicianship. Cheers!
Karnivool is easily one of, if not the best band to come out of Australia. I recommend checking out their live performance of the song 'new day' from mosh cam (I believe that's the name of the channel is) since there is no music video for that song
ONE OF OUR LOCAL BANDS FROM PERTH AUSTRALIA 🤘. THESE GUYS HAVE COME SUCH A LONG WAY OVER THE YEARS FROM HEAVIER INFLUENCES LIKE DEFTONES, KORN AND THEN ONTO PROG LIKE TOOL. FOREVER CHANGING BUT EMBEDDING THEIR ROOTS IN EACH ALBUM. NEW ONE TO BE RELEASED THIS YEAR...IF YOU WANT SOME HEAVIER SONGS FROM THEM, GET INTO LIFELIKE OR THE SONG THAT BOOSTES THEM "FADE" YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
As an Aussie I've seen these guys about 10 times, they are phenomenal live. Another Aussie band that gives off Tool vibes are Cog (try Anarchy OK). They are kinda the godfathers in Australia of the Karnivool style alt rock scene. Another few great similar bands are The Butterfly Effect (Worlds on Fire) and Dead Letter Circus (This Space on the Wall) and Chaos Divine (One Door).
There's something really great about watching someone else listen to music you love and seeing them enjoy it as well. Basically everything Karnivool has put out has been outstanding, but I think they really show their chops in acoustic settings. Check out the vid they did of "The Last Few" for OTR Sessions or the acoustic version of Umbra they did for Guitar Edge. Glad to see others putting these bands out for exposure!
Hey bro, really good song by Karnivool. Glad you had your ears blessed by this mighty band. I'm from Perth, seen them plenty of times, met Ian Kenny, listened from "persona" days and even started a mosh-pit-wide chant "YOU SAID JUST SHOW ME WHAT YOU WANT TO BE..." (for all those that know what I mean, gimme a thumbs up ;) ) Let's start with the cons: Audio wise, I feel the only deterrent is the syncopated rhythm between drums and bass that comes straight in and doesn't allow people to gain the tempo if they can't hear it - even being a drummer, it took me a little while to get that click down in my head and enjoy, deeply, the syncopated rhythms throughout. Video-wise, while it completely compliments the lyrics (should you have read and understood them), it's another layer on everything that I feel can detract from the impact of the lyrics as it's another (and merging) story (emphasized by the 'narrative-like' news article scenes). This means (results may vary depending on IQ/musicality, obviously) for most to pick up on all these factors they have to listen to half the song first to get the rhythm syncopation (could just be me, but it seemed you were bobbing a little slow at the start), listen to it again while reading the lyrics and then listen to it a third time while watching the video to see how it all correlates. That, and many more listens/views, I have done. Interpretation: IMO (obviously this is all always up for discussion, as lyrics are, by nature, purposely worded to allow multiple users to see different stories), the lyrics discuss the current angst within society towards our leaders and governments - they have got themselves into a groove (a catatonic skin, per se [catatonia relating to a state of immobility and stupor]) and many people worldwide are growing resentful of the inequality that's grown between us and their lack of voice or ability to input despite the internet of things (FUCK the system, 100%). Then there's also the divide of the older generations not listening to the younger, the younger (especially in the film clip) are trying to notify the older about, what the older believe to be an impending doomsday, is actually something more? It expresses a disappointment in humanity as a species, our current direction and the fact that the poor are getting poorer, the rich richer and the needy needlessly dying. That's just a macro-sense I get, obviously I could get more nuanced by deciphering every line of the lyrics and every scene of the video but we'll leave that to people with more time, better writing skills and deeper insight. Feel free to reply; unlike many people nowadays, I don't seek conflict through the internet. Should you disagree, let's just keep it mature and sensible. Much love
Karnivool is awesome. Cote is the first song I heard of them and I was hooked. Their live concert vids are great to watch. They sound just as good live as they do on the album's. Very high quality engineers work for them.
Yeah, they are often compared to Tool, but they're pretty eclectic sounding, i'd recommend '''Set Fire To The Hive''' (There's a hint of Mars Volta going into that one) or '''All I Know'', both from the previous album to this one, and both with pretty cool music videos.
This track is a fucking masterpiece. Karnivool are THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND IN THE WORLD. My fave band had always been Tool and I'm from Australia so I've been into these guys since the beginning and now I'm starting to put these guys level with Tool. And no-one draws near level with Tool... I might even like them more, now... Did I just say that out loud?
great choice. Wonderful band, truly inspiring. The singers voice is to die for. I've met him a ccouple of times after shows in both his bands, top bloke. If you like this then definitely try 'new day'. its a real crowd chanting pleaser
Great Video. Lead singer is also lead singer of band 'Birds of Tokyo' whom are a touch more radio friendly. This song is one of the slower ones. I recommend their song 'Set Fire to the Hive'.
I've only just started getting into your videos and love your reactions but I really have to say that Karnivools album 'Sound Awake' is so important to me and I just hope you see this and get around to listening to it. I don't even mind if you don't reach to any of it but truly hope you let it slip into a listening session. All the best!
This is one of the beastliest drum grooves ever imo. Their drummer is one of the most underrated drummers in progressive music! He switches up the feel on this song in really genius ways, and it isn't in a "hey did you see what I did there?" way.
Glad you liked it! The song Aeons or Deadman to me are one of their best, but i havent found a bad song in their albums tbh. The bass in Aeons is insane!
This band is incredible btw. Such a massive diversity from their first album to where they are now. If you have a chance, check out the song 'The Refusal'. It follows directly after 'We Are' on the album
A few more similar and highly respected Aussie bands to check out are Cog, Dead Letter Circus and The Butterfly Effect. In Australia Cog are the godfathers!
Dude, listen to anything from Karnivool's album 'Sound Awake'. I'd recommend the songs, 'Simple Boy', 'Goliath', and 'Deadman'. One of my favourite bands, and easily one of my favourite albums!
Themata was their heavier album. Personally my favourite. Second Favourite Sound Awake. The album this came from, Asymmetry os also ky second favourite, but because it is a different sound they're going for.
this band sound indeed like the australien tool, if you like this I suggest you give comment to a song of FOES, I think they are of the UK and their songs the everest and beautiful fiction, for which they have videos, are amazing
im curious whether you know coheed and cambria which had a series of marvlelous conceptalbums that are worth checking out another of my favorite bands is beardfish whose album the void just blew me away with all its tracks but especially voluntary slavery, ludwig & sverker and where the lights are low also thank you for your content and showing me cool bands i didnt know
Been hard to decide which bands I would like to share. But I've settled on, 2 (if possible). 1. Shrine of Malice - Futherance 2. Anaal Nathrakh - Castigation & Betrayel
You DEFINITELY must do a reaction to their BEST song, "Themata". That song put them on the map, and will def change your world and blow your mind...that song is a masterpiece...
React to Themata from Karnivool - that song is a fucking masterpiece for sure man personal favourite / When you actually know that the Karnivool's singer have this epic voice live as well siiiick
I did not share this vid to one of my X-"soon-to-be-my-wife" girlfriends, because care of her kids. I mean, we 5FDP, me and the young lad watched Batman - The Dark Knight... when she arrived: I knew we both were in trouble. But. Mr. Kenny: Probably you, sir, done this already, if not: Birds of Tokyo - "Broken Bones". Since you are a man of good taste, and to quote Mr. Kilmister [RIP]: Good taste always prevails. Great job done, mate! (Naap, a beauty one at a local coffee shop in Gothenburg, are you from Perth? Reposte: Thanks, no. Kenny is.) ... Cheers fr Sweden!
One of my personal favorite Karnivool tracks is New Day, but they don't have a video to it that I'm aware of. Well worth checking out though.
there's a live version of New Day profesionally recorded by Moshcam that's amazing! actually there's a couple of full shows recorded, All of which have New Day, but i'd recommend the version with the most views. Although all shows are amazing. Shit, all karnivool is amazing!
A New Day is their best track along with We Are IMO.
brice savant q
The great thing about them is they don't write bad songs. Change has to be my favorite. And yes, I'm late to the party lol
@@andresgiovanelliarg - Spot on, mate!
This band is important. Probably one of the best in the last 30 years.
Goliath is bar far one of karnivools best tracks, def worth checking out, sound awake is a brilliant album
The bass tone on Goliath is literally the best I've ever heard. Insanely good song off an insanely good album
Goliath bass tone kicks ass for sure!
Tim Burgess im bass player... this fucking bass tone makes me crazy...
favourite of theirs and the best song for a tool fan to check out i'd suggest.
Sound Awake is an album that's always in my rotation. I can't get away from it lol
"Simple Boy" is one of my favourites from Karnivool! Straight to the point intro, mid-section with cranked reverb for the drums, then the feel changes entirely, great piece of music!
Best song to get into Karnivool is "Roquefort", truly masterpiece.
That song got me into Karnivool
Just any/all of themata would do but agreed none the less
Especially if you’re a rock fan Roquefort is amazing. Total progheads would prefer deadman or change. I like it all
Cote!!!
Karnivool - Change Part 2. Fucking beautiful track lad.
Change is the bomb. always tears me up at the end.
Their Album - 'Sound Awake' is truly a gem. Deadman is like lateralus of karnivool. haha
Deadman Change is like karnivools version of tools Disposition reflection triad imo
Listen to "Themata" from Karnivool. U might as well listen to Deadman and New day and Roquefort. You'll most likely enjoy those
I fucking love Themata
The Entirity of Themata is pure GOLD. Nay. DIAMOND.
The best song ever - Themata for sure
Bence Hankószky yes! id say react to that next if he does more Karnivool
New day and Deadman live are also brilliant songs from Karnivool
Cote by Karnivool is eargasmic dude- I know you'll love it bro!
I've been listening to this for years and this but a taste of what they are made of. Every song has a different feel and that's what's gorgeous about these guys

Daniel Johnstone oh fuck yes!!!!
Their song "change" could straight up be on the AENIMA album it's pure perfection
Check out Deadman from their Sound Awake record! Trust me its 100% pure awesomeness :)
One of the greatest unsung bands!
The drums really carry this song. Steve Judd along with all the musicians in the band are very talented.
I would seriously check out aeons from their ghost city sessions. It's so damn good
Nathan Piliponis was just about to say the same, great song!
Deadman is a must from these guys! One of my favorite bands!!
Please check out Karnivool Umbra and Deadman. You will enjoy.

Saw them with Superheist+Rhino ted at the grosvenor hotel way back in the day.
Must have seen them over 50 times by now I would say.
Karnivool is awesome. Cote is the first song I heard of them and I was hooked. Their live concert vids are great to watch. They sound just as good live as they do on the album's. Very high quality engineers work for them.

Themata live in Sydney by Karnivool is an epic performance and well worth a watch
I saw these at the roundhouse in Camden Town and they melted my face!
Great Video. Lead singer is also lead singer of band 'Birds of Tokyo' whom are a touch more radio friendly. This song is one of the slower ones. I recommend their song 'Set Fire to the Hive'.
