I'm SO happy that she recorded this in the studio and is including it in Theatre is Evil! I friggin LOVE this song.
Who else feels torn by telling everyone who she is and not telling anyone so we can keep her music to ourselves!!! I Love this woman as you all do. Just discovered her and DD about 3months ago and I am so upset I missed out on all the DD years!!!
God, this live version of The Living Room is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Dear Amanda, You are by far one of the greatest songwriter's to bless this earth in many decades. I adore your voice, lyrics, keyboard
playing and real heart felt music. You are a Goddess and a blessing to this world!
Amanda you are the best! Look Forward to your new material!
i know exactly what you mean. i am 16 years old and i am so moved. i cant help but cry everytime i watch this. i feel everything that comes out of her in her performances. especially this one. i didnt know that someone could do this to me. she is everything i could ever hope for.
this song, is just stunning. it really is.
This will always be the only version of living room for me. I heard it first and it etched itself into my brain on first listen.
this is wonderful. now i'm crying.
A line that can be a rose of understanding and acceptance on a grave.
This song is phenomenal, i personally think this song did not get the recognition that it deserved. Very powerful lyrics. Amanda Palmer is one of the most talented artists. :)
Redeeming and restore dignity to the one among us that inspired that line. Possibly inspiring them to reach the stars high.
Love Amanda Palmer for everything she does!
Just heard this time around that my name is in this song! Yay for Benjamin's everywhere!
Beautiful.
Cool work
i love her so much.
o my gosh that must of been heartwarming to have sung for her. amanda is so great. she is the most real person that i know about. i hope she has the same affect on you.
Ok.
I watched the song, read the lyrics with it.
And now i'm going to cry.
beautiful
oh my god. her voice. her tears. her soul. her everything. she is so fucking beautiful.
one of the most passionate and inspirational performers I can think of
amanda has touched so many of us. her passion and talent knows no limits.
Thanks Ihateu4real! We love her 4 real!
the second time i watched this i cried so hard. like a baby. o my gosh that was so moving.
listening to amanda perform changes the day. i could loose myself in it.
This is, truly, the most beautiful song, i've ever heard!
this song is one of my favorites
it's just so beautiful
music, music, music, a very beautyful song, i dont heard the lyrics,
it's so happy to me to see that you have the strength and persistance to play the music that you want, i hope to see you again in spain, dos besos y un arrumaco
I agree without a doubt.
simply amazing
i'm aware of the status, and sorry to the thumbdowners, i just think that those two people play so well together they complement each other so perfectly and that music needs them
I second that with a WOW!
agreed I was totally thinking it was gonna be on WKAP but it seems like it wasn't even considered.
the problem with having more amanda palmers is that eventually it would get old
and amanda is a singular talent
she is one-of-a-kind
she would no longer be if there were more.
This is such a beautiful song. I really like the Regina Spektor reference.
I was so mad when i found out that this song is not on her new album!!!! but it's all good all of her other songs are still AMAZING!!!
oh
ok
that sounds good
Isn't this song about one of her close friends who died? That is what I read. It is beautiful. I love that in every song that she plays there is SO much emotion and passion behind it. I wish there were more artists in the world like her and more people in the world to appreciate them. The music business is so fucked up these days. They want a pretty face to sell sex. That is it.
Beautiful. He would have loved it.
I miss Ben everyday.
Such a mega-talent, she is.
These are addnamehere's chords. He's generally pretty close. I haven't tried it out though.
verses: Eb Gm F C Eb Gm F Cm
chorus: Eb Gm F Eb F C
"I see London, I see France": C Eb C Eb
"Back into the end of harmony (3x), back into the end": Eb F C (3x) C Eb C Eb
amanda=genius
Everybody seems to forget that is song is on Theatre is Evil. It isn't even included in the list of lyric videos she made.
It's a Bside. I'm pretty sure that only backers of the kickstarter got it. It's an amazing song and I'm glad it got included on both copies I received. (Digital and hard)
I seriously wish this were on an album, I don't even think they'd need to do a studio recording, they could just use this.
Probably my favourite by her.
If not, very close to the top. But I really love all of her songs.
I consider this one of Amanda's better songs. Shame there's no recording of it as of yet (does anyone know if it's planned on her album?) but a reason to rewatch this video time after time.
Is this going to be on WKAP, I would just die to hear this studio, It gives me kind of a 2001-03 era dolls feel, I love it.
if it was played at the right time, I'd cry fountains. I need a recording of this song! I PROMISE I'll share
what i would have given to be there.
shes insane
so congratulations on your engagement your incredibly talented and we all love you WHEN THE FUCK ARE THE DOLLS GONNA PLAY AGAIN????? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I didn't like this song at first.
But it kind of got stuck in my brain. It conjurs up very beautiful, frail imagery for me. It's a very sad song.
City lights hide the stars, many seek to inject a replacement.
I agree archer1949
Regina Said "There just old lights"
that's a line from Regina Spektor's Song Samson
Oh Amanda, you are so sneaking
she thought it would unbalance the album in terms of sad and soft or faster and upbeat, and she said she couldn't find a way to make it seem interesting the whole way through
So, any of you perchance know if this will be on Who Killed Amanda Palmer?
Because if it isn't I'll obviously still buy the album, but if it is I might have to do a little jig right in front of all the people in the recordstore.
No, seriously, I think it's a one of the loveliest songs I've heard in a long time.
I think that amanda turned this song into “Astronaut.” i think this BECAUSE, I’m fairly sure that most of the chords are the same, and both songs have a similar theme to them. Every time it comes to the chorus, i always expect her to start the chorus to astronaut.
Or i could just be crazy.
I said that and she said 'don't die livings better'
"Sharing needles with the sky"
@WLSHblud At the time that the comment was written that was not the case.
Oh I agree. This may be complete blasphemy, but I still think the Dresden Dolls version of Astronaut is one of the best!
when in the song?
If we do it together maybe we'll look slightly less mad. Maybe, just maybe mind, others might join in. World domination through music and dance anyone?
according to her, they're on hiatus until further notice.
This would have been better if I wasn't distracted by the awful cinematographry. All the quick cuts and camera-swaying were bad back when MTV did it in the early 90's. Amanda's tender side = good, director of this video = bad.
Amanda is beautiful, &this song is beautiful
I cryed. XD
but i think Amanda should stop rocking on her stool.
I dont want her to fall & get hurt/.
:(
