    Hey guys, I took my cat off tap water and he recovered. I believe it was the minerals in the hard water that were causing this. Even though the vet said that tap water can’t cause it and there were no blockages on his x-ray.
    When I was at the vet I asked about the water and he said no. He said stress causes it. I literally looked it up on my phone as he took the cat to examine him and within seconds, found tons of evidence that cats who drink tap water in hard water areas are much more prone to cystitis.
    He said to give him stress drops. The stress drops did NOTHING. He only was healed after I changed the water. He is still stressed out as he and my other cat fight all the time. He hasn’t had an episode and has miraculously recovered after I switched to the distilled water.
    It must be distilled water. Animals cannot process the chlorine, fluoride or minerals in spring, tap, most bottled water. And refrigerator filters do not filter out chlorine and fluoride. The screw on tap filters do nothing to filter out the chlorine and fluoride either. Many of the pitcher filters do not either.
    You can get it from any store or have it delivered. The water must read “000” or as close to it as possible. And also I gave the neighbor’s dog only distilled water when they were out of town to work with her and she made a 50% recovery in 6 days! She had osteoarthritis and couldn’t even lay down on her bed properly. It took her like 20 seconds just to sit and she groaned in pain. She is so much more agile and up and trotting around.
    It says it will take 7-60 days for animals to recover from chlorine and fluoride or mineral toxicity. It is causing arthritis and cancer in animals. Not just that, it’s causing so many other issues with the pets I was pet sitting for. Lipomas, paw issues, skin issues, brain issues, unexplained health issues. You name it, tap and hard tap water were killing the animals I know and love. I started drinking it too and feel much better this week. If it’s the water, maybe this might help. Good luck with this guys!

    I'm at my witts end. My 16 year old cat has started peeing outside the box. She's been to the vet 2 times in 2 weeks. She had high numbers on her blood work for kidneys (BUN value 52, in the 10-30 mg/dl range, and CRE 2.3 value with 0.3-2.1 mg/dl . No diabetes, no infections. I've tried pain meds. She's still in pain sometimes, even when she's not, she still pees right next to the box, but has 0 trouble climbing or jumping. It went from peeing outside the box sometimes to every single time now. Puppy pads and towels on the floor is not how I want her to live or me.

      I’m sorry to hear that :( kidney disease can be very frustrating. Sometimes, when a cat starts peeing outside of the box, they will continue to do so out of convenience/habit. If she had pain/discomfort while in the box, she may have developed a negative association with the box and then continued to pee only outside of the box. It’s possible that it is solely related to her kidneys, but it might be worth trying out an entirely new box in case it is a negative association issue.
      I hope that helps! Best of luck ❤️

      @@EverydayVet Its very kind of you to respond. Thanks for the suggestion. Also after doing some research online I bought this supplement called Kidney Support Gold. It's a liquid form and administered 2x a day. She seems to feel better and isn't going outside the litter box now:) I'm not certain it's these drops that are making the difference or not. I'm just glad my baby feels better. Thanks again!!

      @@EverydayVet I just looked up to see what's normal for cats to consume as far as water intake it says 7-9ounces is average,my cat drinks over 3 cups in less than a 24hr period and of course that's why he pees alot but why drinking so much water????

    • @EverydayVet
      @EverydayVet  Před 4 lety

      @@tarasilver8591 That is quite a bit of water and you''re right to be concerned. Most likely, your veterinarian will want to take a look him and potentially even run some diagnostics to assess for the underlying cause.

    My cat marks the backyard 10× a day easy. He marks the indoors too. Tried Feliway but doesn't work much. Hoping enzyme based cleaners might. He pees on my clothes, walls, backpack, pillows, bed. Awful. He's a sweet loving cat otherwise. His last pee targeted my son's chair two feet from me. He never learns!

      Oh no! He sounds like quite a complicated case! If you haven't done so already, I would recommend getting him evaluated with your vet to rule out underlying medical causes. A lot of urinary issues are behavioral though, so continuing with environmental enrichment might help.
      Here's a video about feline behavior that might help: czcams.com/video/WewN11o7Afs/video.html
      It's great that you're already using the feliway!

    For the last 10 days our 7 year old female cat has been frequently peeing outside the litter box. She does so about 6 to 8 times a day. We've also seen her urinate in her litter box as well so it's very confusing. We have taken her to our vet and her culture came back negative for bacteria. However, our vet indicated she has noticeable crystals in her urine. period We've changed her food(as per vet) to S/O wet and dry. Having just lost our 6 year old cat to kidney disease this latest per emergency is very worrisome. My mind tends to go to worse case scenarios. We are in a wait and see period right now. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

      I'm sorry to hear that your cat isn't feeling well :( Sounds like your vet knows their stuff. Urine culture is a great starting point and that diet is an excellent choice for trying to dissolve stones. If it isn't working, your vet may end up running more diagnostics, like bloodwork to check kidney values. Sounds like you are in good hands with them :)

    My cat has recently been peeing outside of the box the first two times were on my bed after I had just gotten out of it and the last two times were again in my brothers bed this time after he had just gotten up, she also did it right in front of us, what could be the reason for this?

    • @EverydayVet
      @EverydayVet  Před 4 lety

      It sounds like it might be behavioral. I would first make sure that she likes the litterbox: czcams.com/video/7mHw95HsOFs/video.html
      It's also a good idea to make sure to rule out medical causes so you may want to have your vet take a look.

      I'm sorry but I can't help you. I can't provide medical advice to a pet I haven't seen before as there is no way for me to know what the best option is for your cat. It all depends on pet size, needle size, where the needle actually is, etc. Please follow the advice from your vet. Best of luck for your cat!
