    This video presents the corner impact analysis of gas cylinder. It highlights how to perform explicit dynamic analysis of filled gas cylinder, meshing for explicit analysis, half symmetry, loading & boundary condition. It also discuss static analysis & pre-stress explicit dynamic analysis results like stress, stain, energy conservation, etc. It also present another example of top down impact analysis of gas cylinder.

    hi, i am trying to solve a similar problem but in my case the container has some bodies inside it instead of gas so the bodies inside do not show as much deformation as they should. there is a foam inside the container and a body on the foam. When i run the analysis the foam do not deform as much given there is 2kg load on it and the whole assembly is dropped from 9m height. Any help will be appreciated!

      Kindly check the material details for foam and defined proper connections (contact) between all inner components of your container. It should deform as per realistic impact scenario.

      You can apply only accleration loads, you need to do filtering on the measured data before.

    Hello Sir, Is it possible to apply angular symmetry in explicit dynamic analysis? Also, I want to see the full model with the results after it is solved with symmetry concept. Please tell me how can I do that. Thank you!

    • @graspengineering9249
      @graspengineering9249  Před 2 lety

      We have not tried such case, we will try to upload such video. Generally it is better to avoid angular symmetry in case of dynamic simulation. Try to model full model and simulate.

      It is coming due to small element size or length. Try to increase the minimun element length. The min element affect the solution time and sometime it solution come out due to it.

      Hello Prasad, Present video is just for explanation of explicit dynamic. Most of parameters are assumed.
      The kinetic energy of an object the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity and in explicit cases we does the same thing as we consider inertia. In drop test simulation at the instance of where the object meet the ground the total potential energy gained at the height of h is transferred to kinetic energy,since there is zero potential energy at ground level. Plot crossing each other means PE is transferred to KE.
      You should check hourglass energy, which should be less than 5% to 10% of internal energy, which affect the solution results, inaccurate stress & strain results.
