Seeing that big bastard sneering down at Golic, its face splattered with blood- his high-pitched terrified screaming as he ran for it..that was a nightmarish image that stuck with me into my teens.
The music in this movie was very well done. Especially in this scene where the Alien blows out the candles. The music is so dark and disturbing. It echoes the cold and dark tunnels of the refinery.
The shift from pure horror strings, to a heroic, epic motif at 3:00 makes for such a beautiful, unexpected contrast. Are we lamenting? Are we praising here? Is terror some conflation of the two? Something beyond?
"Goldenthal cites the score as one of his six stand-out soundtracks.[2] Whilst creating the score in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles riots of 1992 were going on and he has noted that the wild and tempestuous atmosphere in the city was an influence on the score's dark and visceral sound."
"Get this fucking thing off me!"

I think it would be nice to have more villain/monster themes to have heroic triumph themes like this. After all, they are the heros of their own story
serious dark violent nightmarish stuff
If all the candles go out then how the hell we gonna know where we are? I guess we’ll have to just go back and light them.
