It only seems that older empires had more styles is because every group of people had their unique aesthetic that was separate from that of the others. After globalization, the styles of the rich and wealthy everywhere on the globe became standardized to a couple of aesthetics.

Maybe modernization. There are some modern designs that I enjoy, but a lot of them just feel very bland and sterile because they don’t bother to incorporate any colors besides off-white, white, and gold/silver. Makes you feel sick after awhile. Minimalism is something else.

See the overhead panels at 9:43 ? Well. One time I was working on a boat not nearly as nice as this, but it was still 100 feet and brand new at the time (2019). We had to remove overhead panels similar to those so we could run wiring for cameras. I tried putting one up by myself and was successful so I went for another. Got a second one up no problem... or so I thought.. Thinking it was secured, I went inside to grab another panel and turn around with the new panel to see the wind suck the previous panel off the ceiling and crash onto the wooden deck. I didn't see any damage on the deck and neither did my coworker so I continued and ended the day. We later hear back from the customer and he reported a dent in the wood deck and I didn't deny I saw a panel fall from the ceiling. About 2 weeks later I received a bill from my coworker that it cost $1400 to repair the dent in the deck. I questioned life for a minute, and paid it. My boss was impressed that I didn't ask questions so he paid for half. $700 still hurt though. Making mistakes on boats is expensive. A couple months later, another panel got sucked off the ceiling by the wind so he ended up getting all the velcro replaced on the panels lol.
There’s a part of me that wants an apocalypse to happen so that this yacht can be this cool secret place that I find and hang out in, kind of like an abandoned Titanic.
