- Today Lucy headed off to Launceston BE with Insey. Hopeful for a good result with some good training having happened during the proceeding week. Instead what unfolded was a bit of a calamity and impeded a strong result.

Wow, how crazy. That's certainly not what I expected even after reading the title. Glad you got to complete, shame about the time faults. Brilliant all three phases though, she's mega!

Ok. Dressage first. Her improvement even in the warm up was totally evident. She was so much better in her test too (horrible test). I thought the judge was a little grumpy. She kept her head was very still with lovely contact and no tail swishing so just ace. Hmph.
Showjumping. Flipping heck. A bucking bouncing head throwing tail thrashing nut case. 😂
Great job for keeping her so focused when it mattered. She was soooo scopey. And a clear. Well done.
Next: xcountry. Well what the hell. I am so sorry for you. What a miserable thing to happen. 😢. I had no idea she was only five. What a total star and what amazing prospects. Chin up. You’ll get it next time. The plan is coming together. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks I think the judge was grumpy! I will get her a little rounder next time and have nose poking a bit more. I am pretty disappointed but as my coach said… you will have your day keep to the system!
A lovely mare. A lot to cope with at a busy event. Very well ridden through all three phases. She is a character but lots of ability. I look forward to her next comp ❤
Thanks - she is just a horse who struggles with adrenaline management. She is an amazing athlete though.
That mare is so scopey, obviously loves jumping, is careful, huge jump....wow.
Brings back memories of my show-jumping and cross country days.
With any other rider she would be far further up the levels. But luckily horses have no ambition and so she is stuck with me to try and an achieve a few dreams on the way. Doing hartpury 2* has been one of them for many years 🤞
Insey is coming along so nicely in the dressage and that was some cracking riding in the showjumping to keep her contained! Such a shame about the stupid people with the golf buggy, the last thing on your mind would have been pausing your watch I can imagine. Imagine how super your next event will be though given today's efforts 🙂 can't wait to come along with you!

btw Life On The Left Rein was in the same class as you, I saw her in the background of your vlog, and you in the background of hers!
Thanks it was very stressful. Mostly as thought I was going to have a big fat 20/E on my record, miss out on a RF place all due to something that was out of my control and shouldn’t have happened.
Boy that was unusual- golf buggy water hazard ⚠️ what a good girl after losing her momentum then to pick it back up & go clear - excellent

The golf buggy in the water was unfortunate. You rode really well in the show jumping.
It was something which should never have happened. That’s what’s so annoying. I was pleased with the sjing as she was on edge and has lost it a few times this season but coped.
