  • If you will really try and will not rationalize or rebel-repenting often and pleading for grace-you positively are going to be “good enough.”

    Everytime I am feeling down I go to Mormon messages and click one I want. As I watch each video there is always a peaceful sensation over me and I feel so loved by our Heavenly Father. This vid and many others is not what I want but what I need what we all need. We're all in this together and that's what makes it so much joyful. God bless you all ❤

      Well, videos like this one really confuse me. In Mormonism there is a 7-step repentance process, which nobody can comply with. So, although I like Devn, I don't think he's really accurately representing the Mormon forgiveness process.

      Susan Diane Howell its also said in the bible that the pure in heart will see god. However in days past people believed the core of a person stemed from the phyisical heart in a human which is of course nonsense. Perhaps pure in, intention and selfless deeds one subscribe's to the pattern of a pure mind and body.

      I understand what you are saying and I'm sure lds leaders can give some good solid advice that we can all learn from. I'm cautious about putting my trust in men because as you know we all fall short of the glory of God even leaders of the lds church. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
      This is where all our trust should be. That doesn't mean we can't learn from people but we must test what they say against the Word of God found in the Bible.

    What about the thief on the cross who repented to Jesus before dying? Was he too late? Didn't Jesus promise Him a warm welcome into Paradise? "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Romans 3: 23-24.

    • @datuallen9614
      @datuallen9614 Před 6 lety

      That's a really good question, I actually asked a friend about that. I think the thief was sincere about wanting to repent. I like that verse you used about all of us coming short of the glory of God, because we're all kind of like that thief, and I think everyone will have something they haven't repented of yet when they die. But because Jesus died for our sins, we have the ability to fix our mistakes, and so I believe that means he'll have a chance to fix his, even after death.

    The Bible says there is none righteous no not one. The only righteous person who lived on this earth that was "good enough for Heaven" was Jesus Christ! Thankfully for us, He came to this earth to make a way for us to go to Heaven!!! He paid the penalty for our sins on the cross and covered our sins with His shed blood! He was the Lamb of God (sacrifice) mentioned in the old testament, fulfilled! His blood cleanses us from ALL unrighteousness! Ephesians 2:8-9 says For by grace are ye saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast." Roman's 10: 9-13 says "That if Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, Thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." John 3:16-18 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world THROUGH HIM might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God." It is only through Jesus Christ we can go to heaven! 1 John 4:10 says, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins." Verse 14 says, "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." Its all about believing in the Son of God that He was God's son in the flesh, the perfect "Lamb of God" that came to take away the sins of the world by his death, burial, and resurrection! He is now sitting on the right hand of the Father in Heaven! Trust in Christ alone to get you to heaven! Not your good works. When He dwells in you, He will do the good works through you! We have no righteousness in ourselves! Jesus asked Who is good? Ask Him to dwell in you and let yourself be a vessel of honor to Him! He will do the good through you because it is impossible to be truly good in ourselves ..we may try and try, but never truly succeed. We should believe on him and repent of our sins and he will save us from all our sins once for all. We do good works when we belong to Christ bc He shines through us and we read His word and the more you know of Jesus and model your life after His and His commandments, (Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself) you will be the light to a dark world who needs a witness and is longing for something more! Share His love with the world! Take the focus off self and only to Jesus! Get to know Him by reading the Bible and you will not want to sin. He is your strength when you belong to him!

    Sounds like you are saying that we need to add works to what Jesus did on the cross. that is not Biblical. What Jesus did on the cross was enough. Saying that it's not enough is like saying "Hey Jesus let me help you save me" False teaching. We obey Him because we love Him not because our good works can save us. If good works could save us he would not have suffered the way He did. He made the ultimate sacrifice and He is enough.

    • @trinas3436
      @trinas3436 Před 5 lety +1

      Please believe me when I say, as a member of this faith, "I feel saved every day!" But we also believe the scripture when it says "Faith without works is dead." But what constitutes work is between me and my God and differs from day to day and week to week. I would guess you are happiest when you are making forward progress in your life. I am also happiest when I am making forward progress. Striving to become better and more like Christ brings me joy and brings me closer to Him. It doesn't negate what He has done for me in saving me. It purifies it. My works will never save me but it is an outwork expression of my love for Him and something I do in partnership with Him. We are more alike than we are different! :)

    • @WLewis1987
      @WLewis1987 Před 5 lety

    That's the thing - in LDS culture, you are NEVER "good enough." The church demands an impossible level of perfection at all times. That's part of the game - to keep you anxious and depressed and - most of all - under their control. You worry so much about "what's wrong with me" that you never ask, "what's wrong with the church?"

    • @madisonjacques8507
      @madisonjacques8507 Před 6 lety +4

      geonerd That's something that a lot of people believe. The thing is that who you are now is good enough, but you should try every day to be a little better. Don't beat yourself up over failure and don't let others be unkind because of your shortcomings. Heavenly Father loves you just the way you are, but He wants you to keep progressing, so you can be perfected. Perfection will not be achieved in this life, but you can still make progress towards it. Hope this helps.😁
