Thanks for the bait Kevin. I sure appreciated it. I did not have that good of day. I caught a redfish 23 inches and a big sand trout. Plus I lost my umbrella. It blew into the water and I couldn’t get down there to get it. I hope to go back the first of the week. Great seeing you’ll.

I've been saying the same thing about the big shrimp. Big shrimp sure do catch bigger fish. Been staying optimistic and fishing the high tides those big fish sure have been loving the big old Scrimps😂
Frickn awesome fellas! LOVE the spot! I yaked that spot and anchored down, casting mullet at the point of the oyster bar. Hooked my PB 42" bull. I wish someone would have caught it on vid. He pulled me a good ways. Got my first slam to, on my bday! Heck yeah!
Older fella in the blue golf cart (Rick) sets up in the same spot every day by the yellow house and slays them!

Not really a great kayak spot though. Waste of time essentially, plus people casting over you makes it not worth it.

What kind and size cast net do you use? Your small ice chest for the shrimp how long will it keep the shrimp alive.
The castnet is 5 or 6ft I think. Not too sure. The ice chest keeps them alive for a solid amount of time. I think we have had them alive for a whole day sometimes. To keep them alive longer change the water every 2 hours if possible.

Nice man, happy birthday!! I recommend using half of a crab. Thats black drum candy. You should use mullet or any bait fish you catch for bullreds too.

This was before, I hope it doesnt go up north. So far its super concentrated in the Matagorda and Freeport area but I did see a couple posts on Facebook showing it was approaching Jamaica Beach in Galveston. 😔
