Occasionally, rarely everything just comes together in ways that you could never consciously design. I’m going to try your method of preparing the transfer surface with acrylic paint.

And as for the laser printer, you can also find them at thrift stores for a very low price. They will even let you test them before you buy.
Love these, they look so great! I think it would be fun to try to paint the big image, but may I suggest you put down a medium first and let it dry? If you do that and start painting and don't like it you can wipe the paint off while it is still wet. Gives you a chance to change your mind! I do it on my pieces all the time :) Thanks for sharing!
@@NitsaCreativeStudio I most often use matte medium because I figure I can always use a gloss later at the end. Either gloss or matte should work, though. A lot of my art is started as collage so I cover it with matte medium to protect the papers before I begin painting. Hope it works for you- like I'd said it does make it more fun because you can wipe things off if you don't like what the paint is doing. :)
The painting you did on the "mission impossible" was a great save! 😁 Also, the print you are asking about should you paint or not....I say no it looks perfect, but if you decide to...just a very small amount of paint.

I understand wanting to enhance your prints. But, the beauty of the black and white photo stands out more to me, without painting over it, since the photo is the main focus of the transfer. You are the Artist though, so do what feels right for you. 😊 I just see it from a different perspective, I guess. 😊
I definitely agree with the beauty of a plain black & white photo which I still love very much. On the other hand, these days I'm trying to take my photography in another direction, something new and exciting to try. Thank you Mae 🌞🥰🌷

I'm not crazy about the heavy pastel-ly colors with all the black... so I say paint it. Have you tried printing the images in different colors and transferring them? Could see printing in navy and using coral and yellow on the background... or printing a nature scene in a mid tone green and putting on a light pastel background... wonder if it would work or if the paint would shift the color of the print
It can definitely work! If you print color using a laser printer than the paint won't shift the colors but if you're using a inkjet, the ink might smear. So its a good idea to protect the transfer with fixative. Thank you for this Jenny 🥰
Soft body paints have a somewhat thinner consistency than heavy body acrylics. They are smooth and easy to blend and layer. Basically, they are the middle ground paint between fluid and heavy body.
