Hello Sir . I have been watching your videos for a while. At first I have doubts about being a Md and a surgeon But now I am very dedicated. ( thanks to you ) . This year, I am starting my medical education in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine ( in english language education). Thanks man. Greetings from Turkey.
I started of as a Surgical Circulator Nurse as my very first Registered Nurse job and now I and a Telemetry and PCU travel nurse. I swear now I want to get back being a circulator RN especially every time I watch his videos. Damn I miss it!
Exactly the list I have to follow for herniated disc until surgery.
I love the thumbnail image!!! Great video
Hey Dr Webb, im quite new to the channel but find your videos super interesting! I notice you workout and with your obvious knowledge as a Spine Surgeon thought id recommend you to think of possibly creating a video on preventing injuries to the spine through certain exercises and stretches. Not sure if that's your field of expertise or if you have already done one (took only a quick look through your channel but been busy watching a lot of videos lol) but I'm sure there's a lot you can touch on Injury prevention that you commonly see through sports, lifting, and day to day life. Thanks for all the awesome info as is!
Still at the mercy of the patient inputting correct information. AI takes your word for it, whereas a doctor can decipher and inspect for a correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
What if they hooked it up to a bunch of sensors like high-resolution cameras? Or if it asked you to get an MRI, and the MRI machine would send the results to ChatGPT, which would instantly provide you with a diagnosis and treatment for your particular case.
It already gives perfect answers. The only thing left is to somehow link it to sensors, cameras, thermometers, MRI’s and other medical equipment
@@user-mo2sg8mf5ktechnology will always fail eventually and there’s no way that a competent medical hospital would trust a robot over a human being and chat GPT doesn’t give perfect answers all the time. My professor who teaches drugs crime and society showed us a chat GPT for a crime investigation that it did and it said it made a lot of mistakes and gave a lot of incorrect information
@@vince11harris it gives better answers than any doctor. Doctors sometimes forget information they learned in school, but ChatGPT always remembers everything.
ChatGPT currently has weaknesses in handling legal information. However, it could improve in the field of law if we limit its database to real cases and authoritative law books. Right now, it sometimes generates nonexistent legal cases, but this issue can be addressed in the future.
As for doctors, I still don't understand why ChatGPT can't replace them. It provides perfect medical advice because medicine is based on hard science, unlike law, which is a social science. The only thing it can't do is conduct physical checks like examining your body, analyzing your blood, touching you, scanning your body, performing physical therapy, or conducting surgery-basically, any physical aspect of medicine. But, if in the future we connect ChatGPT to robots, sensors, and scanners, it will be able to perform all these physical medical tasks as well. Why not? It already surpasses human doctors in listening to patients' complaints and providing appropriate diagnoses, treatments, and explanations. Thus, the medical consultation work is already done much better by ChatGPT than by actual doctors. It explains diseases perfectly, unlike human doctors who sometimes forget what they’ve learned in medical school and cannot properly explain the mechanisms of diseases to patients.

BROTHA man Doc Thanks for the video
You bet
I’m an injury layer. I have to explain spinal injuries to juries. Then bring call a doctor like you to hopefully testify to what I just said. Lol. Ive learned a lot. Would love to work with you someday.
Hi. Doctor can you comment on what type of mattress is best for back ? Some say soft others firmer. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
DR. WEBB YOURE MY INSPIRATION!!!!!! I relate to your story myself and I enlisted in the army as a medic because of your videos. I plan on becoming a surgeon thank you so much
I belive in you 💪🏼
@@jalenmcintyre1660 Thank you kind sir
Going luck my man and thank you for your service
Dr. Webb, one last suggestion, please read Thomas Sowell.
This was interesting
Certain parts of their role perhaps yes. Ai will certainly play a strong supporting role as a minimum
A Replacing role maybe?
how tall are you though?
In the same vein, how do doctors stay abreast of the latest technological advances to perform certain types of surgeries that optimize the recovery process for the patient? (I.e continuing education)
I personally believe that eventually AI will replace many jobs…not so much Doctors. Well at least not yet. Only time will tell.
I do think ChatGTP is an amazing tool btw.
Why so? It already gives instant perfect answers and you think it won’t replace doctors in the near future?
@@user-mo2sg8mf5k if doctors are going, so are programmers
Hey what's up Dr. Webb! Hope all is well. As I always say, A.I. is just a tool to have to reach a possible goal. A.I. may "Replace" certain workforce positions but A.I. won't replace doctors in our lifetime. Now this may be a far future fact but not right now. Thanks for showing us what ChatGPT can do as far as medicine goes. I appreciate all that you do you for us. Be well, be safe and Peace & Blessings.
How many hours on average do you sleep??
My concern is that those running the healthcare system( many aren’t even doctors) will use excuse to use AI to replace doctors by saying “a cost-efficient measure”.
Yes they will, as soon as it becomes more cost effective for them
Two professions that humanity begs to be replaced by AI are lawyers and doctors..
🔥🔥❤
I read about companies that health care providers subscribe to for databases that are continuously kept up to date with what is considered the latest information that is acceptable for doctors to use. ChatGPT and other AI tools appear to be additional way to get advice that is unofficial and not from a doctor. I don't see AI replacing doctors because a doctor knows the patient's history and tendencies and understands the context of their problems and can better know what to emphasize and what not to emphasize as far as treatment at any stage of the process, and a doctor is accountable for whatever they recommend or do.
can AI detect if a patient is in pain?
Good point but what if they connect ai to a robotic arm that touches your lower back and asks you whether you feel pain or not just like a human?
What then?
Imagine if chatgpt gets as good as amboss for medical students lol
AI will likely mostly replace mostly Family medicine, Anaesthesia, Rads, etc.
Chatgpt is heavily censored and is not specialized towards medicine. There are other AIs solely focused on medicine
I think it will not evwryone preffers a human to care for them than a screen
I belive it will replace many of a doctors tasks. Already it does a better jobb in identifying cancer in xrays. In a few yours i could see it as a filter at the general doctors office. A machine that can check crp, a few other things from the blood, temp and blood pressure and understand and cross check symptoms describes by the patient. I belive it can filter away a lot of the everyday "shit" allowing more time for the important things.
👍👍👏
Nope, but it will enhance you.
This video is spot on!!!!!!!!!!!! Doc are you a Christian???
@ Doctor Webb: I trust you over a AI programmed bot. And, I have had 20 surgeries.
If we're silly, we would let it happen. Robots are not conscious. They do not belong here trying to function in human endeavors.
Can AI summarize best information widely available on the internet? Sure. Can it replace doctors? lol that's just techbro propaganda. But there are lots of computers and screens in your OR and having them give suggestions during procedure might be helpful. Or AI could summarize and suggest things from the electronic health record system like Epic.
Get some bass in your voice
I think AI is helpful for providing information and options on physical impairments. However, getting medical advice or intervention from a doctor or other medical professional is the most important component of treatment.
I think your job is safe in the long term(15+ years), but jobs like radiologists will be one of the first one's to go in medicine. Why pay a radiologist 200k+ a year when you can have a device that doesn't take breaks or vacations, doesn't need benefits, and works 24hrs per day.
Hospitals will be quick to purchase from the company that can provide that kind of asset. It would help boost profits for hospitals.
Hopefully unions are created to prevent tech from taking away jobs that pay that high.
Actually it would be better if AI will replace some doctors out there, especially some spine surgeons. Some of them should not be allowed to practice as they are dangerous. So, definitely AI has to replace some of those.
