What about James K. Polk? He was so sickly as a child that he couldn't even go to school until he was 17. Due to his health, he couldn't have kids and He was also only 53 when he died
53 was normal for that time
He was the shortest lived President at the time, until 1881. And young deaths were not "normal" then; the longevity average was probably around the mid-40s range, but such averages could not be calculated without a goodly number of individuals exceeding the average.
Kennedy 46
Around the time they moved human waste to the swamp instead of a proper sewer system. This is believed to have played a role why all three presidents elected in the 1840s died under 5 years after winning the election. Also, while average lifespans were low, this was due to adding child mortality, which was exponentially higher before proper medicine. If you made it past your childhood(the most vulnerable point health-wise) you had a good chance of living to your 50s-70s depending on your social status.
I don't know how Polk didn't make the list either he died 53 days after he left office.

Yeah, but even in his 60's he was hard of hearing. My nana is in her 70's and her hearing is almost totally normal.
FDR polio seriously how is he not on the list
Because after getting polio, Roosevelt worked extremely hard to get as much of his mobility back as possible. While he did use a wheelchair quite often, he gained enough movement back to be able to use leg braces and canes when he was out in public.
He was super healthy despite having polio, besides polio didn't really affect his health besides his legs
No he wasn't, not at the end of his term at least.
Exceed that was cause he was an old ass man leading a country through a war. Still he was healthier than Regan when he died in 45
Nelson Harrington I know right?
Why wasn't LBJ on this list. He had numerous issues with his heart before developing terminal heart disease and dying at the age of 63. He drank and smoked heavily before becoming president and started again after leaving the oval office.

He was very healthy when he was elected he didn't get sick until nearly the end of his 2nd term and killed him before he left office during his 4th term
Health problems seem to run in the Roosevelt family though his cousin Teddy is on here
No; despite polio, FDR functioned. William Henry Harrison and Zachary Taylor go first because they died which is the most unhealthy thing of all. Assassinated presidents like Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy don't count because the assassination was not due to their health issues. Taft and Cleveland were obese, but while leading to later complications, obesity itself is not a major disability; fat people can perform tasks other than being runway models. Which of the following was a major impairment? Pierce was an untreated alcoholic; Kennedy had Addison's Disease, Trump and Reagan were mentally impaired. Eisenhower and Johnson each had a history of heart disease and multiple heart attacks. Wilson suffered strokes, the last of which occurred while in office and is said to have incapacitated him. A congressional committee visited the post-stroke Wilson and found him mentally alert, but rumor has always had it that either his wife Edith ran the country or that Wilson was so impaired by the stroke that he remained inflexible and failed to get America to join the League of Nations, setting up conditions for WWII. Surely each of these is more serious a disability than the fact the FDR could no longer run a fifty meter dash.
Mike Sawchyn he barley ran a fourth term
Grover Cleveland in 2019 would be the kind of guy riding a scooter around Walmart because he doesn't want to walk.

No FDR or LBJ? LBJ was a mess when he died.
E Mail Very true, he was a heavy smoker and drinker that died in his early 60’s. Not to mention and angry and bitter person as well.
But not when he was in office..
George Washington definatly love the guy but anyone with wooden teeth n living in the smallpox days just after the plague was the equivalent of Russian Roulette basically everyday of his life
LBJ was a mess when he was in office.
he basically started killing himself right after he left office
So grover Cleveland is unhealthier than roosevelt who had polio?
And died in office of a brain hemorrhage
How can he be more unhealthy than taft, who was far more obese than him?
What?
@@djsourcream2668 taft was unhealthy, but he was a stress eater. After he got out of office, he exercised and lost a lot of weight.
However, he did begin to struggle in 1921 with health, and later began to lose memory, stumble through speeches, and hallucinate until his death in 1930
People left unmentioned:
James Madison: He was 5'4 and 100 pounds. He was described as frail and frequently feverish, and was known to be epilectic.
Franklin Pierce: He was healthy in his younger years, being very physically active even at the expense of his education. But his health declined over time. First notable injury was a damaged knee from "service" in the Mexican-American war. After many tragedies he turned to alcohol. By the end of his life, after the death of his wife and close friends, he apparantly lost a lot of weight (he was already the second lightest president at 140lb) and had destroyed his liver.
I think these choices would have been better than William Henry Harrison. Because, while its an interesting story, it's just the same type of random illness that killed Taylor or Polk and was less of a testament to a lifelong of ailments or notable health problems (except Polk would also have been a good pick bc of his sicknesses.)
Edit: and ofc FDR. But other popular comments already mention that
Damn, Taft was served more than he served this country.
Unironically true

How tf can you make this list without FDR?
Why was FDR not in this list? Polio? Yeah? I think that counts as unhealthy 😂
But Poliomyelitis is just for the legs. Not for the body.
Reagan lived to be 93!
For an unhealthy man, he's quite lucky to live that long.
ALLTIMERS
He had Alzheimer’s. He may of been alive but he was probably very not alive cause most Alzheimer’s patients don’t remember much if anything
Since he had Alzheimers he forgot that he was unhealthy and became healthy
Sadly
Wilson's stroke in 1919 was so severe, he basically was incapacitated for 18 months. Mrs. Edith Wilson took over many duties and was in many ways, the de facto President. Lincoln had incredibly strong character and intelligence but several physical ailments and suffered from depression (understandable strain of the War and death of three of his four sons).
He lived to see two of his sons died. Tad, the youngest, died six years after his father.
@@karterlee4955 Thank you for the correction.
Did anybody else go "WTF" after reading the title?
I'm surprised Lyndon Johnson isn't on this list. He was a habitual smoker during his time in the Senate, until a heart attack stopped that... temporarily. After LBJ left the Presidency in 1969, he resumed smoking and couldn't stop. Along with other issues, he had a second heart attack in 1972 and a fatal one in 1973. Men on his side of the family had a habit of dying relatively early. His diet didn't help his case either.

Polio really only came late. FDR was rather good until then.
William Harrison though I don't think deserves to be here.
I thought JFK would have been # 1
You forgot the most important one: FDR
True
He got paralized
The video says, "things got worse the older Kennedy became". -ain't that the truth, when he was at his very oldest things went downhill fast. He contracted "massive hole to the cranium syndrome." I was told in the Army it has a low survival rate and it does affect your health.
2:18 he actually died because everyone said he was too old and weak to be president so he read the longest inauguration speech which was almost 2 hours without a coat or hat on in very cold weather which gave him pneumonia of which he died of a month later so he wasn’t unhealthy he was just in a way pressured into his death by the American people
It’s funny how something like pneumonia killed him but meanwhile I got it and I was in school 3 days later
How FDR, McKinley, and Lyndon Johnson aren’t here is Beyond me. I didn’t think Cleveland was THAT bad.
Yeah, Cleveland had much of his jaw and palate removed due to cancer.
And Edith Wilson effectively served as President after Woodrow" 1919 stroke.
FDR:Yes

When I saw the thumbnail, I was like,
He should be number one because his health his *ZERO* since 1963.
When i saw that JFK was on the thumbnail i thought that they are gonna say that having your head open wasn't very healthy
How could you forget FDR, he had polio
Kennedy also wore a back-brace. In fact, if he hadn’t been wearing it when he was shot he might have survived. He was unable to slump forward after the first shot because of the brace. It was at this point when the infamous headshot happened.
Back brace wasn't going to help the headshot, but his back injury was another of his illnesses because he was never out of pain,
Hearing the one about JFK having Whopping Cough made me glad that I’ve had the vaccine for it.
No FDR? Makes no sense.
How many strokes will you have?

Idiot.
Toko Furse The man is in his 70s and has more energy and stamina than people in their 20s. It’s honestly really crazy how healthy he is
LBJ lived a life that wasn't healthy. He was a workaholic (18-20 hours a day), ate a lot, hardly exercise, and a chain smoker (3 packs a day) until he suffered a heart attack in 1955 (on daughter Luci's birthday). He followed doctor's orders and didn't smoke for over 13 years until he left office in 1969. In 1970, he suffered chest pains (angina), a second heart attack in 1972, and a fatal one in January 1973 at age 64, all due to his smoking habit.
Why is Franklin D Roosevelt not on the list?
Where the hell is FDR?
And thing is KENNEDY also got his head go boom rip
How is being nearsighted unhealthy? How is hearing difficulty unhealthy? You should rename this to "Things I wanna say about Presidents of the United States."

H: Hey hun didn't we just get a new president?
W: Last month, why?
H: The gazette says he's already dead!
W: What? That can't be true!
He was on the list, number eight, in fact. William Henry Harrison gave a long-winded inaugural address in foul weather and developed pneumonia in a time before wonder drugs.
William Herny Harrison also didn't wear a coat during his inaugural speech that was also a factor of how he contracted pneumonia
I wouldn't consider that unhealthy as much as unlucky. Harrison just didn't wear a cost during his inaugural adress, which is the longest and it was raining too.
I guess the case could be made that a healthier man would've survived, but Harrison was so long long ago. Pneumonia was kinda thee killer back in the day.
Madison had epilepsy. He called it his "falling sickness".

@@clamp202 sorry
I'll admit I was expecting FDR to be on the list. He struggled with more than just polio. That said, I would think that most of our 18th Century presidents would have made the list since medical care was exactly top notch back in the day. I would remove Harrison from the list because he contracted pneumonia on Inauguration Day. Back then, presidents were inaugurated in March and the day was a chilly and wet one. Harrison refused to wear a coat and then proceeded to make a speech that was an astounding one hour and forty-five minutes. Pig-headed? Yes. Stupid? Also yes. Sick on arrival at the White House? Not necessarily. Also, Reagan may have had health problems, but he did live in a time of excellent health care, so many of his health conditions were controlled. He did live to 93. Sickly people generally don't hang on that long. So I would remove those two and add FDR and George Washington. Washington was in terrible shape by the time he left office and died not too long after.
Actually we only had two 18th century presidents
There was a point when a balloon popped during his speech and Raegen looked up and said "missed me"
When I saw the thumbnail I thought "Well considering he is dead I would consider his health to be rather serious"
