I dont know if you know this but when mining with ice pick always miss first shot and do rest on "glowing dot" and it will take 1 hit less than if you do all perfect. Works on metal and sulfur but not on stone.
Did not know this and it gives you time to find the first spot while your swinging. Good tip!

I will say, just from the title….I had my first trap base. It was a snap base. Put snaps in. Weird spots and then had shotgun traps inside the base. My first experience was sitting afk until it happened baiting a jump up to furnaces with a lantern for the light. And door open. It took a while but I got a group of 4 repeatedly attacking it. Until I locked them in with snap traps outside. They haven’t come back since. So fun. Now time to watch this vid. 😳

I'm not trying to be funny but when you lost your cave base you hadn't even locked your TC. That's the first thing you should do when you put it down. Lock it so that someone can't just swipe the whole base and take all of your TC resources. They'd have to break it to get access, which takes time and resources, splits their concentration and dumps 24hrs of upkeep into the base, so at least they don't get 100%.

Never played Rust but I've been binge watching your vids, and my word. How do people actually build stuff in this game? With everyone out to kill everyone else, it seems like it would be insanely tough starting out new or not. Doubt I would have anything accomplished at all.

I had to quit playing Rust because it became too much of a time suck and I wasn't getting anything else done. I am glad I did quit since they started adding stupid crap like portals, but I do still enjoy watching Rust videos.
