Had a chat with Darryl at the Edmonton airport both of us heading back to LA. He was really nice this was days before training camp of 2016.

this is absolutely classic Western Canada Old School Hockey culture // one day you are head coach of a team in the best hockey league in the world in a huge US city // and 3 days later your are driving to town in your pickup to have coffee with your buddies in the local cafe // no pedestals in Canadian hockey // guys just earning their living playing and coaching hockey // he'd walk into the cafe like he'd been there all winter and the guys would talk hockey and cattle // classic // beautiful

Yeah, McLellan is not even half the coach he was. Even blew a 3-0 series lead in 2014.
