Live & Unscripted Custom Quilting - "The Mountains are Calling"

- In my studio today I'm quilting a unique, pictorial quilt, made from sumptuous flannels. Several different quilted textures and designs play up the mountains, trees, flying geese, and even the grass. There's a bit of ruler work, some stylized feathers, and a small grassy fill.
The quilt pattern is "The Mountains are Calling" by Janet Nesbitt.
This was very helpful. I don't have a long arm, but just finished this quilt and needed help in figuring out what to do.

Susan, I prefer free-motion quilting both as an activity and as a quilting treatment. The automated quilting looks too commercial and though it is creative, it takes away from the "Artfulness" of a quilt. The act is a valuable meditation. The sound in the background can add motivation or calm. The mental process is an exercise for the brain. Thank you for your hard work.

What kind of marker are you using on the sun?
It’s an air-erasable marker. Most of my CZcams episodes have a link to them in the description.

What ruler are you using
I believe I was using the 9" straight from A1 quilting. I've been unable to find it for purchase lately, but I found very similar ones from Quilters Apothecary. I love the handle shape particularly.

All of them are by the same designer as the pattern, Janet Nesbitt. Her business is One Sister Designs.
