    The Triumph probably has longer maintenance intervals. And knowing Ducati, well, you'll probably recover the price difference after a few services.

  • @Tocino_Wheels
    @Tocino_Wheels Před 2 lety +17

    I'd pick the Triumph 1200XE, its basically a "naked ADV bike!"
    The power of the Africa Twin, yet almost similar weight as the V-Strom 650! I see this as a win-win.
    Yeah the price is a bit steep, but I tend to keep the bike in the long term anyways.

    • @kristofferrummelhoff2403
      @kristofferrummelhoff2403 Před 2 lety +3

      I own the XE and I love it. It is my first bike, so I don't have too much experience. But as a guy who pushes 6'4", its super confortable, that I really didnt get with a lot of the smaller bikes, because the XE is a tall boy.
      The engine is super strong and the bike lives in the low revs and enjoys being pushed high. Quick, torquey and all around a blast. As it is a naked bike with less fairings, it does get a bit windy on longer travels, but Im getting used to it and will go on longer trips in the future. The bike all around feels like a tool and looks like a show bike.

    • @Tocino_Wheels
      @Tocino_Wheels Před 2 lety

      @@kristofferrummelhoff2403 The detachable windscreen from Madstand would fix that long distance issues on the bike. And it can be easily be detached for city use.
      Or the Unit Garage "Dual Scrambler Kit" would turn the 12XE into a low-key retro ADV bike!
      I NEED this bike!!!

    The Fantic is far and away the best looking of the lot and the power/weight ratio is just right for the genre
    .. pity its a little overpriced and the reliability might be questionable . My last bike was a Street Scrambler
    and its a brilliant " better than sum of its parts " bike , BUT the weight! ..why can't Triumph build a lighter version ?
    if they produced a 500 / 600 single with 50 - 60 bhp and loose 40 Kg it would be a sensation ! BTW , the BMW
    boxer engine has no place in any motorcycle called a scrambler !

    Had the top of the line Ducati Scrambler 1200 (2019) and loved it until piston slap raised it's ugly head. So vibey that I couldn't ride it longer than 45 minutes until my hand and butt were so numb that I had to get off of it.( terrible throttle twist resistance as well). It made the Kawasaki Concourse vibe feel like a massage. It vibrated that bad. If Ducati ever solves that problem and for the love of God, adds cruise control i would purchase another one. It's a shame because it really was a hoot of a bike to ride. Btw-best stock exhaust of any bike I ever rode.
