Terrence LeVarr Thornton (born May 13, 1977),[2] better known by his stage name Pusha T,[3] is an American rapper, songwriter and record executive. He rose to prominence as one-half of the hip hop duo Clipse, which was mainly active from 1994 to 2010, alongside his older brother No Malice. As Clipse, the two released three studio albums and a number of mixtapes, and had hit singles including "Grindin'" and "When the Last Time" (both 2002). They also founded the label Re-Up Records and the fashion label Play Cloths.
In September 2010, Pusha T signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music imprint, under the aegis of Def Jam Recordings. Later that year, he was featured on West's single "Runaway," which peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2011, he released his first solo project, the mixtape Fear of God. He released his debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, in 2013. In November 2015, Kanye West appointed Pusha T to take over his role as president of GOOD Music. Pusha T has since then released three more solo albums: King Push - Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude (2015), Daytona (2018), and It's Almost Dry (2022), all of which received widespread acclaim; the latter was Pusha T's first number one debut on the Billboard 200.[4]

He followed up a perfect album in "DAYTONA" with one of the best albums of 2022 in "It's Almost Dry." I remember the first time ever hearing Clipse was on the old school stereo and hearing "Grindin" truly changed my life. One of the greatest rap songs of all-time and man does that production from Pharrell slap 🔥

As a Pusha fan, this was well put together. No way could it be perfect, but this is a wonderful ode to him and his fans

Being born and raised in Virginia beach, VA we weren't lucky enough to have DOZENS of famous artists that came from our city like so many rappers today. Pusha T was MORE than an amazing artist. He was our HERO in ALL of the 7 cities (757) and while his brother reminded us to repent and thank God for every moment he gives us to breath, Pusha taught us too keep GRINDING for what you believe in and to always remember to grsnning8

Pusha in my opinion lyrically has always been miles ahead of other artists. Pusha’s lyrics always have a realness and rawness to them that not many other rappers can replicate.
Pusha t became a top 3 to my personal favorite rappers with its almost dry drawing me in and I dove into everything he had to offer and never knew he was successful in the 90s

It's a helluva time to be a Push/Clipse fan... with the year Push has had (with his first #1 album), Clipse doing some live performances, the official release of "Exclusive Audio Footage", with videos like this - and Complex just a few days ago posted an _amazing_ conversation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of _Lord Willin'_ with No Malice, Push & more.
Can't wait to see what the future of Pusha and Clipse offers!
Edit: Although I absolutely love _My Name Is My Name,_ I do agree that there's something about _Darkest Before Dawn_ - it definitely stands out as a turning point and it set the table for what came after it.

I've watch Hip-hop grow from the days of spontaneous block parties in New York public parks during the '80s and definitely after the launch of Adelphi University's WBAU. I even remember how hard it was to play a Public Enemy tape in my father's cutlass supreme and the first time I heard a Nas snippet over the speakers at the Shea stadium during 7th-ining stretch.

Pretty good story on Push. Left out a lot of things (Re-Up Gang, the reason behind Wayne v Push beef, how Push got connected to Good Music, many of the early disses between Drake and Push that lead to 2018).

Video gave me chills. Been a Push fan since grinding (of course that’s the first time I heard of him and his brother) been a fan ever since and he just keeps evolving. I even liked FoG2 surprisingly. One of the GOATs of our generation and highly underrated. I still can’t believe Drake tried to go up against him when that’s basically Pushas home turf. I’ve always said, Pusha Ts dark beats and gritty bars is what makes him shine
