Definitely yeah, the best solution would be fake names for the players in tournaments so players with an amazing reputation such as ExCal don't get blatantly targeted like this. EDIT: Sure, there are other ways to figure out who's who, but with no chat it should still be easier to have a fair game with this "fix"
I think it was fair because No Chat... No peace and no teaming... and even if the players played undercover it would be easy to find who is the player in many ways, and don't forget that it's no fun for the viewers to watch anonymous players?🤔

In survival games to avoid getting "hunted back" many people have a common name which is "123". you will find like 10-20 in each server with this name which makes it close to impossible to figure out the player. maybe have all players change their names beforehand.
There is nothing wrong with what Stazz did, the goal of the tournament is to win, and it is logical that Excal-level players get targeted first, so everyone just chill!.
Ultimately that's how strategy games with players go. A meta will develop no matter how hard you try to avoid it. The human element is one of the things that interest me when watching Legi's streams- that's why I was so happy to see the 2-chat rule. That's the natural evolution of the meta. "Alright, he's running across the map to hit me, feel free to kneecap him."
I see no reason why each player can't be assigned a random 3 digit numerical code that they make their name that only the organizer knows who is who. Not even the caster gets to know until you get to the 1v1s. Trying to say there is no anonymity is bs. And it isn't a good thing that we the viewers get robbed of really good semi and finale matches because of a badly designed bracket system and 6 players ganging up on the best player because they are greedy. It might be good strategy for them, but it's bad for just about every one else. The viewer, you the caster who has to defend it and cast worse games, the person who gets ganged up on, and future tournaments. Why would good players come to a future event if they know they will get targeted? You just end up with empty tournaments with a dead pro scene.

How does the stream delay work in this case? Legi said that there is 3 min delay but he is answering chat messages immediately. Does that mean that people see their messages Also with a delay?
I see the messages instantly, but people won't hear my reply for the duration of the stream delay. So if someone asks a question, I see it immediately, and I respond. But people then hear my response minutes later.

Man that's not FAIR at all because excal had 2v1 and non winning any prize of the tournament just because he is the best player........best player and no prize, the players shouldn't know each other every player change his name before the tournament started and only you know every player ... this way all players will have there opportunity to win at least 20$ .... and if you gonna tell me that they should know each other to kill the best player etc.. in set1 killer let tumstep alive in 1v1v1 and let shay die and lost the 1v1 .... this is the best way to play it fair imo
over the last few weeks we've been working hard on a system that will help bring some anonymity into the picture (unfortunately it's impossible to guarantee full anonymity with players). the plan is to help prevent these types of situations, while also making sure the games retain good quality and are fun to watch. we're gonna put this new system to the test later this month :)

Excal got cross-mapped several times in the high profiles FFA challenges / tourneys in last two years or so, nothing new or really out of the place. Just part and parcel of FFA logic, it's very rarely won by the most skilled players, it's usually the middle ground guys that win FFAs PS Also, Excal and Vivid teamed on some other guy in one such game and they've _allegedly_ even toyed with him a bit, which was not very much sportsmanlike, if you want to see the whole picture clear, so to say
