    I bought one of these in January of 2017. for $80. Received it quickly and tested it. The mic has a "good feel" to it, unlike a few of the other Chinese radios. Actual power out is more like 18 watts on vhf (didnt test uhf).
    I manually programmed in a few simplex frequencies and put it to work. No complaints as far as performance.
    Operating it is quirky sometimes, i do not like the channel knob being so close to the mic wire but thats not a real big deal.
    It took forever to get a programming cable that worked with windows 10. Finally got the cable and loaded about 120 frequencies in . Operating it is a little quirky too. You got 4 standby slots, yet you can only scroll (select) 10 memory channels .
    Put it this way: when you select ..say slot A (the top one) to channel 20. you can only scroll backwards to memory #15 and forward to memory #24) its that way on each "slot" A, B,C,& D.
    Not a big deal, I guess they are grouped up in bunches of 10 and thats how it works.
    Not a bad deal for less than a hundred bucks. I do not think that I will buy another one and if this one stops working, I will look for something else. Of course I would never take this on an ARES activity or anything that was important and required dependability. I use it in my car because the doorlocks do not work and I am uncomfortable leaving my $300 Yaesu rig in there unprotected.
    Overall not a bad radio at all, just a little bit quirky operating it. Its functional and thats what counts.

    Ed, tnx for the video. I just got one of these, it did not bring the usb programming cable so I ordered one. I found it difficult to program it manually but very easy with either Chirp or a software that comes for it. Impossible to get another radio with so many features, plus two bands for its price, 73,s Beto KP4AE

    Not a good idea to have any radio on the dash, the sun will fry almost any radio no matter how much it cost.

    You don't say if you like it or not. Does it have alpha channel names? The audio sounds a little muffled. Is that the radio or your phone audio? What does your transmit audio sound like. Those QYT mics audio was pretty hideous on the 1st gen radios.

    Hi, Does the radio scan function work? Will the radio stop on an active channel during scan? Thanks.

      I recently bought one of these radios. all the functions work fantastic except one..... does not stop while scanning. in doing some research and what little info is out there, this seems to be a known issue. ive looked everywhere for a fix and have yet to find anything. This all seems to be an issue with ALL of the radios, not just a luck of the draw thing. I have still yet to see someone with one of these radios that the scan function works. if you find anything out on the scan function to get it to work, let me know!!! it would be nice

    hello Edward. This radio have doble vfo? Can we listen at time both frequencies? And, it haves a repeater function? Transmit in vhf and exit via uhf? Thanks.

    • @scrwblll
      @scrwblll Před 7 lety

      It can use any mixture of VFO and memory/channel mode. A can be channel, B can be VFO, C can be channel and D can be VFO. With multi-receive enabled it can receive from any of the given displayed frequencies or channels regardless of which mode each entry is in. You can even select to have it waiting to receive on any 1, 2, 3, or 4 displayed items. As for cross band repeat, I do not think it can do that with these models.

    Well, I've installed one of these and hit a repeater with it, so that's a success. I could use some help figuring out how to use all the functions. If anyone can point me to some resources for that, I would appreciate it.
