    Many people have already praised your adventurous and curious vibe, so, kudos, and I'll skip it now to ask? Why Brazilian music soundtrack? 🤔😌😉

    • @TopFlightFamily
      @TopFlightFamily  Před 7 měsíci +4

      Since you're the only who actually asked nicely:
      1. Because I heard tons of Brazilian music while I was in Porto, so there seems to be a good amount of cross-cultural pollination between Portugal and Brazil. So to me it didn't seem weird to play the music I was hearing all around me during the trip.
      2. Because independent content creators like me rely on the music that's freely available on royalty-free music sites. There were zero tracks available from Portugese artists, only Brazilian ones.
      3. Because I mostly go for the vibe of the songs and am not always trying to country-match. I've featured Korean K-pop tracks in videos about Italy, Swedish songs in videos about Jamaica, flamenco music in tracks about New York, etc. I don't think you have to be exactly match-matchy all the time.

      @@TopFlightFamilywhat you called sausage in the puca-pau is actually chorizo. Just FYI, in the World Atlas Best Cuisine Awards Portugal was in fourth place, in my humble opinion Portugal has the best gastronomy in the world, the best fish, seafood, meat, veggies, even fruit is sweeter, and also bread. Enjoy Portugal

    As a Brazilian, I think the Portuguese food is one of the most underrated things ever.

    Man I'm so hungry right now!! 😆😆 What's up Top Flight Family! and hello to your sisters!! Thanks for sharing this culinary opus! My goodness, I thought you guys ate good in Italy! Porto is now in the top 5 places to get your eat on! Those dishes looked amazing but me being a seafood lover the last spot La Rera had some delish seafood, especially the octopus! And I have to also add that I've not seen a more beautiful group of sisters ever!😊 It's a very Porky kind of Pork, and your sisters 1-3 word critiques are hilarious. So thank you guys for another amazing video and I'll see you guys on the next adventure! Peace & Blessings

    So, about the wine. There's actually a distinction between "verde" and "maduro". The nomenclature depends on the region where you can find the vineyard (since that influences the vine variety). Then, both verde and maduro wines can have different categories, those being branco (white), tinto (red) and rosé. Some Portuguese wines are sparkly, indeed, similar to Champagne or Lambrusco, but most are just a little fizzy

    As a Portuguese person I thank you for showing my country (north) in culinary terms, and I am glad that you liked the food, only con, the background music is Brazilian not Portuguese, nice culture but different (other continent entirely). Dig a little more deeper next time, we have a very rich culture in music also. Ad you are right, there is a lack of seated places in Mercado do Bolhão, what a shame...
    Keep up the adventures.

    so, about Ham :) the cheaper one is made out of a white skin pig (the ordinary pink pig that can be from several races) , and the fancier more expensive one if from a black skin pig, the black skin pig meat has more fat spread throughout the muscle that's why it has a different and far better taste, and yeah it's way more expensive, if you buy a full ham it will cost you around 10x more than a white pig ham.
    the black pigs are raised in a total different way, they live for around 2 years in huge farms basically in the wild and they feed mostly on acorn, these have a lot of oils so that's why the meat has all that fat

      I'm Portuguese, I never seen any native Portuguese people use cumin in their dishes. In regards to sauces, our main sauce is a very good quality of extra virgin olive oil, white wine vinegar and a good quality of rock salt. This is the the traditional salad sauce. Portuguese food is simple but we use a very good quality of fresh ingredients!
