Wow thank you a million! My son and I just changed out some bad spokes on the back wheel of his ttr and used this video from start to finish. Amazing video and helped save me hundreds of dollars! Thank you and God bless you!!!!!!
Just would like to thank you for taking so much time to make these videos !and explaining everything in details ,get well soon !
Dude I had no way of knowing which way to orient my spokes on my bike, after watching your video my spokes are on, fit perfectly, and I’ve got such a good understanding of the truing process. Truly a remarkable breakdown and explanation for someone just getting into wheel rebuilds. Thanks brother, couldn’t have done it without you. 🎉🎉
Great video by Cameron. Its helpfull for me on how to fix and assemble new spoke wheel. My suggestion for Cameron is to make more tutorials videos for beginners like this. Thank for sharing..
Love your work Cameron & great vids. I fell confident to do my own after watching this vid. Keep up the good work mate.
Glad you enjoy the videos! Thanks so much
Thanks for all the videos you make, i'm sure they take plenty time and effort to make. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you so much! It's something I really enjoy doing so the time put in isn't much of an issue.
man this is a great video truly everything you know , no hocus pocus or cam cuts start to finish im putting you on my christmas list, thank you buddy i appreciate your help
Great video mate. Havent seen any of yours for a while and honestly i thought 18min this could be a drag but it wasnt at all, sufficient info without being over the top. Top stuff keep it up
Absolutely a great video for the novice spoke do-er.. Great assistance for me and my 74 Elsinor.
you make it look so easy love the videos I've learned much thanks
Thank you for the video. I watched this video and replaced all the spokes on my rear tire. It took a couple days from start to finish but I got it done and saved hundreds of dollars.
I had the offset about a half inch over to the drum side of my rim. The tire was almost hitting the swing arm. I didn't pay attention to how important that offset is. Had to take the tire back off again and loosen 1 side and tighten the other about 8 times but I think I'm good now.
Thank You Cameron. I now have the whits to build my own wheels and also powder coat the original hub on my bike.
My dad taught me how to lace my kicks, and this guy taught me how to lace my wheels. Subbed 👍🔥✌
Hi Cameron Thx for that video reduced to the max ! Well done ! iwas struggeling @ rebuild after anodizing such honda Wheel. most important info for me was 1.) the long ones inside. 2.) short ones outside on top Thx !
Great job Cameron..............so informative, thanks alot
Mate, another great 'how to' video. Good detail and a nice, noob friendly delivery.
Thank you, love to see people enjoy the videos.
Lots of good little tips in this video for sure.

I loved that rag trick in the end
Perfekt. Big thanks. Wery good guide......nice to learn.
Great Video, I usually keep my axle dry/no grease, I just find it attracts dirt.
Great Video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the useful information.
Great vid, thanks for the tutorial, about to start my first wheel rebuild
Thanks for watching! Good luck with your rebuild
greeting from far east country, I found a lot of useful stuff from your channel, u got my subscribe brother, keep making it.. soon I will buy KLX 150
Hey Himawan! Thanks so much for subscribing and good luck on your KLX purchase.
Thanks. You made that all look easy. Good job.
Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully it helps!
Thank you very much. It really helpful.
Great vid!
Awesome video👍
Its weird seeing someone work on something and do it right lol
Haha thanks man much appreciated.
Great video thanks!
Very informative!
I've watched a fair few of your vids and there all helpful, the way u explain things makes it sound so much easier
Could u please make a video about fixing/replacing a broken spoke that would be great thanks
Thanks for checking out the videos man!! Replacing a spoke will the same as what's covered in this video. Remove the tire and replace the spoke, some times you'll need to loosen up the surrounding spokes to install the new spoke.
This was great. Thanks mate.
I appreciate you watching!
Great video thanks
Great video
Really clear and informative video! Great job!
Great video.
Thanks Cameron
After watching your video, I’ve managed to respoke my UK 1979 DT100👍
I don’t suppose you know the torque settings for the????
Great video. Tell me this though. When I’m lacing a FORTY hole wheel do you still skip two spokes when going around the rim? Thanks.
Try some type mounting lube. It works so great. I’m just 2 stoked!
You inspire, Great video!!!
Thank you! Glad I can help out.
I'm trying to do the same thing on my klx 250 1994 just waiting for the part and tomorrow is the day I'm just trying to clean up rims and swing arm
Can use soapy water for air leaks in the tire. Great Video💯
Great video thank you I install the tube a little different I put tire on rim one side... then install rim lock it's hard to get in there but you can do it... you can slip it in then need to hold up on tire to push rim lock through rim and start nut. after that I install tube then put a couple pounds of air in tube and finish getting tire over the bead. with the air pressure in there you will not pinch tube cause as tire goes over bead it pushes on inflated tube and keeps it out of the way. not a lot of pressure in tube couple pounds to make firm. hope that helps really frustrating doing all the work and getting a leak
I now can lace a rim no more paying great vid thank you.
Glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for checking it out.
@cameron Niemela what if you don't know the wheel offset ? ^^
thanks a lot for teaching me great great great .
Much thanks for watching the video!
Hey Cameron, great video...I have a rim I just tried to re-lace from a 1996 Suzuki DR-350 Rear. Followed
your (very Clear) instruction, but doing something wrong. I put long spokes on inside & short on outside
but nipples are sticking up all over the board and unable to tighten them. Rim lettering face down but
I'm lost...could use some insight!
informative vid well done
Great video thanks
I dont see myself doing this!!
I think it requires a lot of practice and as you said patience :-/
I'm not happy how my rear and front rims looks and moves like and I have paid a lot to get them aligned and luck so far
Maybe, one day I will buy those tools and try it by myself
This helps alot you got my sub !
Thanks Nick!
Dude, real craft ..I am not patient... but you are 100% right
can i correct the side to side movement wit out removing the tire from the rim on a bike stand or do i need to remove it. i guess twisted tires will throw off the rim and give me inaccurate measurements?
thanks again
Hi Cameron - great vid's - very helpful and infomative thanks. Just a quick question - why not use a normal (small) torque wrench with an allen/suitable head, on the rear of the nipple to achieve the correct torque?
AND..... if the nipples are anodised/coloured there's also less chance of damaging the finish? Just a thought :-)
great video
@Cameron Niemela were could I get the offset measurements for standard wheels off a 2019 Yamaha yz250f? There's nothing in my service manual about it. Obviously I forgot to take the measurement before taking apart the wheels. Also should the measurements be without any discs/sprockets on the hub?
i use dti gauge to measure the run-out of the wheel, can even to it while the wheel is on the bike
That CR looks real nice
Hope you are well Cameron 👍
Great video. Do you have any ideas or videos for taking a dent out of my excel rim ? I'm going to have them powder coated and new black spokes and orange anodized nipples. I just took the spokes out and now I can see there are two bad spots in the front rim . I tried a rubber mallet. No luck ... I'm open to any idea . Even adding heat . Again great video , big help ... much respect sir . Hope you are feeling well .
Quality stuff
Hi. How did you found out the wheel offset measurement for that specific bike? I have a European Honda XRV750 and I can't find that information. Cheers
Hi Cam, can you leave your tyre on while truing?
Looks easy enough
As always good information. I would like to add a few additional steps that I do which is applying some assembly lube in the spoke holes of the hub and the shank of the nipple. When reapplying used bolts check the bolt for straightness and fatigue, clean any corrosive film and apply thin coat of grease or assem. lube. Basically, clean, lube and protect everything.
How to install extra spokes in rim
Eg. If the rim with 36 spokes (original )
And we need to install 72 spokes . How to do it
I had 1 spoke break. I fixed it. I just had 2 more break. I have warp 9 sm wheels on a WR250R. What can I do to fix this problem? I tension the spokes by the sound test and by feel I’d say the are 3-4ft/lbs. I try not to over tighten them at all. Thanks man.
Hello, where we can find the hub offset specific for a bike? Or it is better to measure this offset before disassemble the wheel?
Will that spoke wrench fit a klx 110?
Nice vid. Does anyone know if crf 250r 2022 wheels fit on 250 crf r 2013. DID guide only goes up to 2021
Can you get a bigger rim and spokes to upgrade a wheel to a larger size with the same hub?
Hi Cameron,
I bougth a new set of spokes (all the same size) from my rear wheel.
Also bought a hub from the same brand.
But I noted that sprocket side diameter on the hub is larger than the rotor brake side.
So, when i install the spokes then the rim is offset to the side of the rotor brake.
Do you have any recommendation?
Hey if someone could reply to this and help me out that would be awesome I have a really old Tim with rusted out spokes I'm looking on powder coating the rim and hub and getting replacement spokes how do I know what sizes I would need?
I want to replace my hubs and spokes on my DID wheels this winter. The amount of work this is, is giving me extreme anxiety. This is insane!
good info helpful
Thanks!!
What can I do if I didnt measure the offset before removing the old spokes. Do all motorbikes have an offset? I cant find any metion of it in the manual, only the horizontal and vertical buckle tolerances
Thanks bro
Hey can you tell me how long it should take to do this job?
Should you be able to see any thread on the spokes after the wheel has been trued? I had my wheels done by a professional and the spokes are tight and the wheel is true but someone said to me that doesn't look right.
I've watched this video atleast five times now, starting to get the hang of it, really dont wanna mess up the paint on the rims when building them back together though
Just watched it three times in a row, i have almost fully disassembled my bike now my friend already disassembled his, i'll be making a project/tuning story video of it on youtube when its done so ill put the link down below here when i get the chance
Cameron where can i found off set rear wheel for my 2003 rm250 ? Help please .
What was the price of equipment that you have the tire on when you flipped it upside down???????
I know this is probably a dumb question , but if I had two of the same size 18" rims front and rear . My question is and the spokes different sizes or are they the same for both rims?
Quick question non related to wheels. But when changing valve seals do I need to remove the head or can I do it from the top
Yes, you can change valve seals without pulling the head.
@ 9:00 what do you mean by by " shift the rim around on the hub " ?
Not going over perpendicular with tire iron/spoons is the true key in NOT pinching the tube during install.
Hey Cam, i have a rear wheel im wanting to restore, the spokes are slightly rusty but if you run your hand along them you dont feel that nasty feeling when they are rusted to oblivion, i would rather clean the spokes and avoid any relacing,im not good at that plus i dont have the equipment, i was wondering, could i sand those spokes with something like 400 grit and then paint them with some kind of durable high heat paint? the rim itself is not bad at all and could use some polishing, i know it would be hard with the spokes in place but its doable,i also have access to a big bead blaster at my job if that would help my project?
How would you go about it? thank you so much for your time,if you think the wheel is better of being relaced i can take the whole thing down and clean it and then take it somewhere and have them do the lacing part, the bike was sitting for many years but like i said the wheels are not bad like you would find in a bike thats been in a jungle or something like that, lol, thank you much for your time.
not saying u did anything wrong or anything u did awsome and the video helped me out alot cause i poweder coated my wheels n my spokes were diff sizes n i didnt know what the heck i was doin wrong without this video id probly still be stuck so thanks man without ppl taking the time to make videos like this then id probly be just like everyone else that pays another person to work on everything thank god im not haha like a guy that doesnt change his own oil makes me face palm n laugh whaaaat
Can't get my rear spokes to align with drilled holes on the rim at all. Nipples don't even fit correctly on the rim I have either. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I want to convert the 21 front 18 inch rear wheels of cr250 to 19 front and 17 rear. Does anyone know what size spokes I need to do it ? Please help . I've spent my last 2 brain cells trying to figure it out.
Does anyone know where I put the spacers in a yz85 lmao
Your the man love the videos!
im switching a honda 750 hub/rim assy to a 500k honda hub to the 750 did aluminum rim
Hey I think your videos are awesome and have learned a thing or two from each video your website is sweet look forward to making a purchase ! I have a question for you since four strokes took over mx I have always went with a crf450 I am debating to go back to 2stroke bikes my son has a kx65 what is your thoughts on my question sir look forward to your next video
Thank you so much for watching the videos! Personally I have switched back to 2 strokes simply because I have more fun on them. Isn't that what it's all about?
Cameron Niemela
That is true I started off riding two stroke then bought a xr100 and fell in love with the reliability and low maitnace honestly
Where can i buy like that spokes?
