Awesome Video. A couple of things that will make this a lot easier to understand. Screencast Keys and put a caption on when you change between modes (Object to edit) When I first started out I always had problems because I couldn't get menus that were in the video. This will help a ton. Keep up the good work. Also maybe including a link to image assets like the grass image you used would help out some people that are unsure of where or how to create one
This is a great tutorial. Thank you so much for this. I am finding it hard to get grass tutorials to go along with my own painted image grass, because most of them are outdated. So... I got a question: can you add in a lot more colour variation to the grass image, as in multiple colours? My grass looks a bit like that Ghibli stylized one but more painterly in my style... but the tutorials out there are not for the updated version for Blender 3.2.
Thank you for the tutorial but I'm having trouble downloading any images and applying them to my plane. I'll download it and go into the select image but it wont show up in my files? Does anyone have any advice.
A little advice here. After adding the texture to the plane (0:42), go to edit mode, and move the plane on iits Z axis, so the origin of the plane is where the grass stars. Or else, you might end with the grass being cutted in half by the ground
What tool are you using at 0:13 ? Cant seem to get it right. it would also be great if you could include the mouse keypresses and keyboard shortcuts you use while working in the next videos. Makes it so easy to follow for new users

Nice thanks
Hey, can it also be used in games (e.g. in Unity Projects) or will there be problems with performance ?
I'm not familiar with game engines but there shouldn't be performance problems. However I don't think the data transfer modifier can be exported.
Can you make a bush tutorial using this shader
This look amazing ! Can you upload the grass image texture to the description ?
Guess he won't ☹️

I turned on proportional editing witch is near the top middle of the screen. you can also use the scroll wheel to change the size.

Hi I have a question, in 0:46 how do you put the material preview and those other three menus, idk how to do it, thanks
I believe the default key for that is Z. If not, its called Shading in the keymap settings.
Z+2 (numberpad) for material preview.
👍
how do you zoom like this in 1:10
If you press Numpad . it will zoom to the selected object.

Enter edit mode on the plane with the grass image, then just move it up or down on the z axis using G
@@Peopledbear52 Thanks! You've saved me from suffer!
thank you Edit: wait it doesn't work and why is my grass below the surface?
You hide the original ground and display the duplicated ground that shifted downwards.
why is my grass under the ground?
u fix?/
@@cabrasideral4560 it's been a long ago now
nice!@@EthanEnriquez
I think that's why you make a duplicate ground that's lower than your original ground.
