I wonder what the stamp thicknesses of the base Set first editions are, or if any of those stamps are grey or 3D.
The old certs is a little worrisome, don't know if any of those tens would regrade 10.
Probably a good example of buy the card not the grade here.
I wonder if any of them would grade AA (authentic altered) if they've been polished with card care.
317k for this set is probably too much if they have whitening and depending on the stamps thickness.
Ahh yeah I didn’t even think about the stamps maybe the pika was a grey stamp ? 😎🤷🏻♀️

Orion, this video is such a coincidence for me! I have had a goal of getting at least one case of each modern set and started building up a collection of SV SIRs. I just don’t feel the same about collecting modern cards as I do the vintage. I invest in modern boxes but felt I needed a collection goal to chase! I just decided to give up on modern singles (mostly) and go after a PSA 9 collection of all Unlimited Base Set through Gym Challenge Holos. So excited to start chasing them on a budget. I am also bindering all common, uncommon, and non holo rare in NM condition for those sets and am basically done with that. First PSA 9 was a Muk Holo from Fossil. Im going to keep you updated in the comments on my progress!

Auctions weekly it is! I’ll try and keep tabs on a few cards a week and also try to branch out from what I normally collect 😎🙏🏼

This is exactly why you buy the card and not the grade. That charizard didn’t even deserve a 9 let alone a 10 guarantee if it was re graded it would get a 8
It probably deserved a 9 but sometimes those old certs aren’t too bad I think whoever sold that set made out ok 😂😎

Others referenced Top 10 Pokémon’s channel which I think you would do a great job at taking over, however, if I could make a suggestion, I think it would be a great format for you to rapid fire the top auctions of the week at the beginning of the video and then talk about specific ones that interested you afterwards.
It’s great info to see what the biggest auctions of the week were but I don’t think everyone has time to listen for 40 minutes.
Hey that’s a great suggestion and I’m going to take that into consideration! I have been trying and failing at making shorter videos I’m very ADD and go off into rants 😂
@@orionsires I personally love the longer form content but I know there are some people who just want to see the auctions and that’s it. Top 10 Pokemon had a good rapid fire format and he got some decent viewership and he openly welcomed someone to take over his place and I think you’d do a great job at it seeing as you’re passionate about a lot of vintage cards and you’ll be more familiar with the bigger sales that come by every week.
Anyone know which clear sleeves fit over graded guards? Looks like he has em in this vid
I use the super generic cheap ones on Amazon hope that helps I already had them so I figured why not. But they won’t stack anymore once you put the sleeves on fyi 😎
You were very humble in the beginning saying your 1st edition Zard isn't rare. Any card with a pop report under 1k is very rare considering the Umbreon VMAX Alt has over 11k PSA 10s! Although it's more expensive up front, this is another reason I find vintage way more safe/stable.
Well one thing you’re neglecting about moonbreon is that the price is more accessible for people in that price bracket, so with the demand for it, it makes it easier for people to justify spending the amount grading it in relative
Well everything is relative too, there are far more collectors who want the Umbreon than the Charizard just my thinking. High pop is irrelevant if the cards are hot enough 😎🤷🏻♀️
And to the comment below, correct! But if the charizard was a lot cheaper sure there would be no competition or comparison but these vintage cards do price a lot of folks out and that’s a factor in popularity certainly
@@UrAveragePlayer0 I totally agree that it's way more accessible so the demand is extremely high. It's a great card to have. But I also believe it places a ceiling on the future value of the card considering more will continue to get pulled and graded.

@@orionsires I actually started collecting the new DBS: Fusion world. I opened some packs from target of the new blazing aura set and pulled 2 Vegeta alt arts and the secret rare Vegito blue alt art too! They look amazing bro!

in 2019 i got PSA 9 1st ed.....venus 899 - alakazam 400 - nidoking 350 - gyro 375 - poly 350 - hitmonchan 350.
also got a venus and blastoise 1st ed raw on craiglist 475 for both..they graded psa 7. sold all my 9's in 2020 except venus i still have....kinda miss the alakazam
Crazy prices to get those for so cheap!!! I plan to keep my 9’a for a very long time 😎

Hey, I might start to actually save for the PSA 9 1st ed Charizard then. prices seems pretty decent rn as compared to as before.
Now’s a good time IMO and in everything I’ve purchased I’d rather wait a few weeks or months saving for one important card rather than buy every week smaller stuff and never be satisfied 🤷🏻♀️
