Made ladder matches a legit thing with Shawn, changed the conditions of pay and contracts in the business forever. Defined the cool heel. Made wrestling mainstream cool. Put underdogs over. Gave a sick kid his intercontinental title belt. And of course, sold the stunner better than anyone, ever.
The 'give Curt a hug' was touching sir. God Damn I've just been watching tributes to James Gandolfini then I seen this. Man Life can be Beautiful and a Son Bitch all at the same time.

Scott Hall, regardless of what you think about him personally, deserves so much credit for impacting the wrestling industry in two ways. Helping to make guaranteed contracts the norm in the industry and putting over a young rookie that Antonio Inoki saw nothing in named Hiroshi Tanahashi who went on to become the ace that lifted New Japan Pro Wrestling out of its darkest era. Hall’s impact on wrestling is considerable.
Long live the Bad Guy.

Not enough credit goes to DDP on this one. Without him, we would never hear the EPIC stories he told on Kayfabe Commentaries and interviews and what not. Dallas bought us an extra 5+ years with the Bad Guy. Best wishes to his family, friends, and fans. Thank you Scott for the sacrifices you, and your family, made to make this man's childhood what it was.
Scott moved in with him in 2012. We got an extra decade thanks to Page.
Not enough? I think he gets an accurate amount of credit. Most wrestling fans know he was a tremendous help to Scott Hall and played a major part in keeping him around for another decade. He does get credit. A lot of it. As he should.

Hall deserves all the respect in the World for overcoming his demons. Saying it isn't easy is an understatement to say the least. Many have tried and failed. Many more haven't even tried.
But Page still deserves respect for taking in Hall and letting him crash his place, whilst he was attempting to overcome said demons. Most single people would have turned him away. Most married people that wanted to help wouldn't have been able to. But Page, was not only willing to take him in, but convince his wife to let him.
They both deserve props. A lesser man wouldn't have offered help. And a lesser man wouldn't have accepted it. Or vise versa. A lesser man wouldn't have sought out help, and a lesser man wouldn't have given it. Either way. They both deserve props.

Scott Hall DESERVES all the credit for his recovery. Without his personal will & resolve NOTHING happens.
DDP is good at his job , we all get that. But if an addict doesn't want help....there is no recovery, period.
I've spent the last 2 days watching Scott Hall matches. I find myself sinking back in to my 12 year old self and remembering how amazing wrestling was to me back then. People say how can you get so upset over someone you didn't know but, in a way, I did know him. He shared a part of himself with all of us and it gave us memories that we will never forget. He was part of my childhood and the world feels different now that he's gone.

His vignettes as Razor Ramon were the best vignettes WWE ever did in my opinion. 11 year old me was excited for his debut. The first heel I loved like a babyface. Walking the walk like him and throwing toothpicks at my younger brothers! Thank you Scott Hall. For simply being you.

See, if there is anything joyful about this, it is the fact that Razor Ramon beat his demons, was able to see the value he gave to the Pro Wrestling, when a lot of people myself included didn't believe that was going to take place. RIP Bad Guy.

Scott’s passing felt different than the rest, I couldn’t stop thinking about this all day when he passed. It just feels like such a major loss, somebody everyone recognized.
Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Hogan, Sting and of course Stone Cold and the Rock TRANSCENDED pro wrestling in the 96-98 era. It changed everything. Hall on Nitro changed everything..it was like watching rock stars every week.

Here's how good Scott Hall was....in spite of not being in best condition during his end of his wrestling career, to my knowledge he *NEVER* hurt anyone in the ring. Underrated (yes, underrated even if he was *WAY OVER*).

Scott was part of what inspired me to get sober 3 years ago. I’ll always remember how EVERYONE counted him out and considered him a lost cause, and he ended up proving them all wrong. Rest In Peace, Razor. You were one of the very best.

The saddest part is that he was finally happy for the first time in decades after finally shaking his addictions and the ptsd that caused them and was looking forward too his golden years only to have them swept away by fates own hand.

If Scott Hall didn't give his notice back in 96, which lead to Nash giving notice, there would be no MSG Curtain Call, Triple H would've won the KOTR 96 Tourney - which means no Austin 3:16 acceptance speech, now I'm not saying that Austin would not have gotten over, it would have been a different animal. Scott Hall's jump to WCW caused a butterfly effect on both sides of the fence.

@@anthonyanderson9303 the funny thing about Austin's assent, there was no grand design, the curtain call curtailed Triple H's push, which allowed Austin to win the KOTR, then Shawn lost his smile, which switched up Wrestlemania 13 card, and Austin ended up turning face at Wrestlemania 13, then Austin was dropped on his head at Summerslam 97, which led to Austin delivering more impassioned promos and assaulting Jim Ross, Sgt Slaughter and then finally Stunning Vince McMahon at the MSG Raw, which laid the groundwork for McMahon vs Austin, and the Montreal screwjob made Vince a surefire heel.
Plus, Scott likely helped add decades to Sting’s career by helping create the Crow gimmick.

We can take one positive from this, he left us too soon, but he left us after he got his life in back in order a while back.

I have been a huge Scott Hall fan for decades. Coolest wrestler of all-time. Very unselfish and was always willing to help out others. He used to make the joke he was the highest paid jobber in wrestling history, He will be missed.
When Scott Hall won one of those WCW World War 3 battle royals, the crowd was so into it. We all wanted to see Scott get a title shot. And he had one of the most raw powered finishing move ever.
I do like Cornette's comments: "Hall and Nash could talk, they looked good, they were fearsome, they were cool, and they didn't give a shit what anyone thought about them." Love the Outsiders.
Also, the idea that Cornette would ever classify Sytch as "normal" is hilarious.

Love him or hate him - there was someone who never failed to get you involved in the program. A great athlete and performer, and a man who suffered from his own self-inflicted wounds - a man who ended up addressing them. Scott Hall in his prime was certainly something to see. And props to DDP and ANYONE and EVERYONE who helps someone struggling with those issues and helping them find their way out.
I burst into tears at work the other day. I was so heartbroken for Scott. Hearing about how he felt about the after had me so sad. I believe in my heart he’s in a better place and I love him. RIP Chico, hey yo! ♥️🕊🕊🕊

Scott Hall sold the Razor Ramon character to Vince, who had never seen Scarface, not the other way around.
My first exposure to Scott Hall was as The Diamond Studd in WCW with Dallas. Thanks for the memories.
Scott kept me watching wrestling when it was otherwise unwatchable. As long as Razor Ramon was on Raw I would watch it. His defection to WCW along with Nash and the formation of the nWo had me watching Nitro when I otherwise wouldn't care. An all time legend.
I'm glad that Scott Hall, with the help of DDP, was able to get clean in his later years. He left a lasting impact on the business. The Razor's Edge was a move that looked cool and devastating but it also looked safe thanks to Scott Hall's ability to control how you landed. He was a tremendous talent who's impact on the business will never be forgotten.

I’m not because he was miserable in his final days. I’m a former addict and I’ve never felt so shit since I’ve been clean. All the stuff I was blocking out has come flooding back, I get 1 hour of sleep a night and the depression is unbearable. Yeah you may be healthier when your clean but at what cost?
@@oracle8589 scott was actually doing really well. His health was doing good. He happened to fall and break a hip which caused the other issues for him. Sucks. Really sucks but it happens whether you're healthy or not but Scott was definitely doing good

Actually it's very common for blood clots to form during hip surgery. They have to cut into bone, you are laying there for quite a long time so your blood is very still in certain places, which depending on the platelets can cause blood clots. Very sorry to hear this. He was a great wrestler and will be missed.

There are any number of wrestling personalities/groups, that it can, at the very least, be argued, we would not have gotten, without Scott Hall:
1. Razor Ramon itself was Scott Hall's idea. He got help on the name, but the idea was his from the Scarface movie and imitations he used to do in the car with Mr. Perfect. Vince wanted him to be an army guy, since his father was in the military.
2. The nWo does not happen without Scott Hall. Not only that, but many of the great ideas for the nWo early on, came from Scott Hall
3. The Crow Sting gimmick was Scott Hall's idea, from 'The Crow' movie, which he gave to Sting, at a time when Sting didn't even really like him.
4. 1-2-3 Kid/X-Pac/Syxx, it can be argued, doesn't happen without Hall putting him over on RAW. Any number of high quality workers have fallen by the way side otherwise
5. DX likely does not happen without the nWo, because it was in direct response to the nWo. Michaels and HHH wanting their own group.
6. Kane- It can be argued, I don't know how heavily, but argued.................... that Kane was a direct result of Taker needing opponents when Hall and Nash left and the WWF was running out of guys for him. Taker and Mankind got them a distance, but those two always had to take breaks in their feuds, due to the dark and violent nature of them, or the novelty would have worn off.
7. DDP becoming a star- The idea for DDP to act like he's joining the nWo, only to give Hall the Diamond Cutter, was DDP's idea. However, Bischoff, for the longest time, refused to do it, due to a blend of not believing in DDP and not wanting to show favoritism to DDP. By DDP's own admission, it was Scott Hall speaking up for him in a creative meeting that finally convinced Bischoff to let them do it.
8. Stone Cold Steve Austin- The Stone Cold gimmick was a direct result of Vince getting beat and having his back to the wall for the first time, needing to come up with a counter and create new stars. And we've seen what Vince is capable of producing when he's not being pushed by competition, both back then and today. We don't even have to look past what Austin WAS before the Stone Cold turn around KOR 96'.
9. The Rock- Was ALSO a direct result of Vince getting beat and having his back to the wall for the first time, needing to come up with a counter and create new stars. And we've seen what Vince is capable of producing when he's not being pushed by competition, both back then and today.
10. Hall was really the first true anti-hero babyface of the Monday Night Wars era.
11. Oh, by the way, the Monday Night Wars themselves taking off. Yes, they were already ongoing before Hall jumped, but his jump is why they exploded and millions upon millions of people had RAW on one TV in the house with the VCR recording, while having Nitro on the other TV in the house with the VCR recording.
12. To emphasize, the Monday Night Wars era made wrestling practically the apex predator of television entertainment. I mean, it was beating Monday Night Football, back when it was still a huge deal. It was beating the World Series. This is why I say to this day that much of today's fanbase doesn't truly grasp the sheer size of the true hardcore wrestling fanbase. That fanbase just left when old school wrestling left. There were RAWs and Nitros back then, where you couldn't even get in the building for less than $50, and had to buy your tickets weeks in advance. Today, I can go up to the Box Office an hour before the show and, not only have my pick of most sections, but drop a $20 and simply go in the upper deck.
This one man had a major influence on ALL OF THIS, and never even had a World Title in Singles competition with a major promotion, on top of routinely not being hurt by doing jobs. Not to mention, the array of phrases and mannerisms that would get some of the hugest pops of the night. 'Hey Yo'. Flinging the tooth pick. How Hall would get rev'd up as a heel like he's gonna destroy the babyface, before feeding the babyface like crazy. The surveys. Hell, one of the best feuds of that era was Hall vs. a retired wrestler turned commentator (The Living Legend). Even when they came back to the WWE, go back and watch the ORIGINAL footage of No Way Out. The crowd is ready to explode just waiting for him to say two words. I mean, the man came straight into the WWF, from WCW as a mid-carder, feuded with Randy Savage right away, and held his own. That's how good he was.
Worth mentioning he went into business for himself when he put Jericho over at a time when Chris was barely a midcard guy. Scott knew before anyone else that Jericho was gonna be big.

I wouldn't credit Vince's forced hand decisions as Hall creativity but he is up there with Foley as the most creative wrestling mind of the 90s. There is no Bullet Club without Hall/nWo either.
In his 1st book, Shawn Michaels said it was Hall who suggested to him to use the superkick as his finisher. At the time Michaels was using the superkick as a regular move in his repertoire, and the back suplex was his finisher. According to HBK, Scott said the superkick was his best move. Scott knew what he was talking about, and he was right. Scott had a mind for the business.
Razor Ramon/Scott Hall was always one of my favorites. He always stood out to me. Had the IT factor. His YouShoot interview he did is one of the best ones to. He will be greatly missed. I think he was one of those guys most fans couldn’t help but like.
I just watched the Kayfabe commentary’s one today with him and it had me laughing and smiling multiple times
Scott wrestled in Puerto Rico in 1990 as Cowboy Scott Hall. Look up his promo video it's hilarious. My mom had the hots for him so when he showed up on WWF she was like "That's cowboy Scott Hall!" and i was like, "Mom, his name is Ramon and he's Cuban what are you talking about??" Funny memories😄
Scott Hall passing is one of the hardest things I've had to heard about. This was such a tragedy.

Scott Hall had been on my mind lately for months for some strange reason and now to hear the news that he has passed away just got me in tears
Thanks to DDP, Hall was able to live almost a decade longer than he would've if Hall was going to continue to live the lifestyle that he did all those years, what's crazy is that 3 generations of wrestling fans saw how destructive that lifestyle was since Hall wrestled from the 80's up until the early 2000's full time.
“Hey Yo” Scott Hall will forever be a part of maybe the best wrestling angle ever and I couldn’t be happier it’s him. Razor Ramon was one of my favorites. He could talk he could work. I’m so happy I got to meet him a couple times and talk to him. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. I had tears in my eyes when I heard the news. Very sad. Rest easy Scott.
I gotta agree, always loved Scott Hall, the only angle that came close to being as big as the nWo was the DX army angle
Razor Ramon was one of the best wrestling characters from that era. The accent (though bad lol) the look and facial expressions, the hair, the toothpick flick, the wardrobe, the gear with the vest. He was cool, enough for the women to like him, and for the guys to value his in ring work and see how cool he is.
Then, his transition to the Outsiders with Nash and the subsequent founding of the NWO changed the business. My wrestling history doesn't go back that far because I was born in the late 80's, but I can't remember before that when a bad guy was cool. Tough loss for the business in my opinion

And the toothpick gimmick goes back to the _Diamond Studd,_ with DDP. According to DDP, they both had one before cutting a promo, but DDP dropped his, and Hall flicked his at the camera, and made it a thing.

From what I’ve always heard, Kevin was the nicest guy amongst the Kliq.
Scott seemed to have humbled himself over the years and it’s tragic that at his happiest time he was on borrowed time.

The WWE Network has a great special about Scott Hall called Living On A Razors Edge The Scott Hall Story. I would recommend it as sad as it is in the end it gives a great insight into the man and why he had such awful life consuming demons. I hope god if he exists forgives Scott more than Scott himself ever did

If you watch the special on the network theres a bit where Scott after getting help goes back to the spot where it happened and even so many years later that place still broke him up so bad. I hope god knows how much remorse and guilt Scott struggled with about it and thinks that was more than enough punishment for one person, frees Scotts soul from his own condemnation and that hes finally at peace now

I’m not one to cry a lot when it comes to people dying, but I cried over Scott because I not only watched so much of him but because I could identify with him especially in the last 10 years. Overcoming his demons the way that he did really resonated with me because I have faults, and struggles that I have to deal with of my own. I took a lot of inspiration from him. He became like a role model in a sense for me. Such a shame that he had to go this early this way. We’ll miss you Scott. Thank you for the inspirations, and the memories that you left behind for us. Until we meet again! Rest In Peace.

One of the most underrated things about Scott Hall is something Jim pointed out at the end. You weren't going to get seriously injured working with Hall. A guy his size if he wanted to be a prick and get stiff shit could go bad for a lot of people and yet it didn't. That says a lot about him, I think anyway.
The fact that Hall would put over up and coming talent if he felt they had what it took, even when booked otherwise, sets him apart from the rest of the clique.

Scott Hall's Intercontinental Title runs were some of my favorite runs. the ladder match at wrestlemania x is a match that i will not get tired of watching over and over

I know Hall wasn't in the best place, during his 2002 return but a short run with the IC title would have been a nice nod back to only 5/6 years previously, when he last held it and before everything changed.
Hell Goldust for that matter, is someone that I'm surprised they never put the IC title back on, in any of his WWE returns since 2002, because he also held it when it really meant something.
I remember when I first saw Razor Ramon make his debut, I was hooked. The look, the swagger, the (fake) accent, the toothpick, etc. Never saw anything like it or since then in pro wrestling. He had a tremendous physique and he could really move for a guy his size. I loved his entrance, his signature moves and had never seen a finisher like the Razor’s Edge. At that moment, he became my favorite wrestler and still is to this day. Then he went on and became a big part of the greatest wrestling storyline ever when he became a founding member of the nWo. The rest is history. The wrestling world lost a major star, legend, and inspiration. Thanks for all the memories and machismo, Bad Guy. Rest easy, chico.
I was a kid when Scott debuted as Razor Ramon. I got to meet him after a match at a house show. He let me hug him. He was such a nice guy outside the ring. He loved meeting fans, especially kids who loved his ring work. He was "the bad guy" in the ring, but he had a genuine smile that made people like him. He was larger than life but a great person. He will be greatly missed.
That first "...yeahhh" out of Jimmy tells the story. Scott never got enough credit for what he brought to the biz in the 90's. The other comments already listed the accomplishments but we're all feeling the somber vibes this week. It was nice of the WWE to keep their video tribute positive but it really kinda drove this one home. It hurts more than I expected it to. Thank you for everything Scott!
My heart broke with this news. Scott was one of my all-time favorites. I've followed his career since the vignettes before he debuted to what was then, the WWF. I was so proud of his progress. This is just such sad news, man. I'm seriously bummed.
It's great to hear Jim recognize how talented Scott was and his big contribution into starting the Attitude Era. He really made it cool to be the bad guy. I don't think there will ever be someone like him. He was also one of the nicest people I've met, despite having fought with tons of demons. We lost one of the greatest and most underrated names in wrestling. Thank you Scott and RIP.

I remember seeing him the first time in the AWA; I knew he was going to be huge. When he was in the WWF, I didn't even recognize him at first, he was such a great performer.
The overall reaction of the wrestling community seemed quite underwhelming to me. Scott hall definitely deserves more credit.
So many good points about Scott Hall have been mentioned and here’s mine - he gave absolutely 0 shits about doing a job. Lose to The Kid on TV? Hector Garza? Chris Jericho? He understood that if you were good enough that it didn’t matter if you lost. He was doing jobs on TV while Hogan, Warrior, Savage who was crazy about not jobbing at the end, etc wouldn’t even consider doing any job. In 1998 his return was the center of a whole PPV and what did he do? Go out and do the job. And he never lost any heat because he was that good.
Always upsetting to hear about a wrestler from childhood has passed. An honorary World Champion in my books.

Hall was one of the wrestlers that never won a world heavyweight championship and never had to. He was over without it. Like Jake the Snake. That’s real talent there.

What an awful and unexpected death. He thought he was only getting a hip replacement. It ended up being fatal over blood clots and heart problems. Really sad. RIP.

Actually, SCOTT HALL went to Vince with the SCARFACE idea which became "Razor Ramon" just as he came up with STING becoming more like "The Crow", which he still uses.
My grandmother was 85 and was home alone and she fell and broke her hip,after that there was surgery and just when she was about to leave the hospital after she got better a blood clot killed her, never got a chance to say good bye!
