Wanted to view a few videos and get a feel for what most shooters have to say about the 19X before I pull the trigger and make my purchase. Your video and 5,000 round evaluation sealed the deal for me. I never once considered owning a Glock before I saw and felt this pistol. They just werent my cup of tea. I have this gun, it gives you the most value out of the box from the Glock platform. It is my carry gun now.
    The reason the gun lost (it was the runner up) the trials, is not just that Sig massively undercut the price of their gun for the contract. Is that Glock failed to meet the modular requirements. They delivered a refinement of their greatest gun (the G19), which might have been the best gun (performance and reliability) in that contest, but it didn’t meet many of the requirements.
    All the more impressive that it made to the finals, over the APX (which Beretta design specifically to meet the requirements).
    I agree, I think the 19x is a great gun.

Didn’t even try it a range first. Best pistol purchase, best pistol I’ve ever had or shoot, and my favorite edc or home defense ever. I see why Glock has its reputation. They'll also build you a matched set, one left one right they call "The Mirror Image. Their stuff runs from about $4k to over $8k. They're also known for building a 1911 out of metal smelted from a meteorite. I've always wanted a lefthanded big game rifle in one of the classic calibers, .375 H&H, .416 Rigby, or in a Weatherby .378 or .460. I've found a few online but everytime I got around to committing they were sold. Last year I found a brand new, unfired, in the box, Lefthanded stock and bolt, Winchester Model 70 Express in.375 H&H, so I bid on it and won, I think I paid $2100 for it. I put a $1500 Leupold on it. I love this gun. And one day I'll move out to the north west where I can actually use it. Winchester made several calibers in this rifle, topping out at .458, but they used the same profile barrel, so my .375 is a bit barrel heavy, but to me thats a good thing as it helps keep the muzzle down. One of these days I plan to have a Weatherby style muzzle brake installed.

    I totally agree. I like the G19X so much, I have two of them. I don’t understand the complaints against it as well. None of the complaints make sense (besides maybe color). I will say though, I think the gen 5’s are pretty solid. Sure, the initial run didn’t have the beveling which was stupid, but they fixed that. The gen 5’s have a better trigger then previous (especially compared to gen 4). They also have a better barrel (although most people can’t outshoot the previous barrels). I have gens 3, 4 and 5 and like the 5 the most, followed by 3. At the top though, is the 19x. For some reason, I like it better than the G45 even though they are pretty close to being the same gun. The 19x coming with night sights and maritime spring cups is an added bonus, and the 19 round mags are pretty nice.

Moral of the story is I like the grip, I like the sights, I like the controls, and it works well concealed. Thanks for the video. My New Years resolution is to put 3K rounds through this thing and smooth it out.

    The same people bitching are the same people who buy a Glock and immediately replace half of the parts, including the barrel. I carry a gen 3 stock 19. I did, after seeing a Pat McNamara video, try how he inserts his whole finger on the trigger. Any problem I had with a Glock trigger disappeared. This was a good and honest video. I agree, even though mine has been slightly modified, with hight cut trigger guard, cut beavertail adaptor, Talon Grips, and Ameriglo I-dot Pro sights. My finish has started to melt off, got some nasty pitting on the rear of the slide and around the rear sight. To me, it's a tool but the pitting is getting worse and this is just my body sweat, oh well it is what it is, I might refinish it sometime here soon. Good project for gunsmith school. Also, I replaced the lanyard loop plug with a different plug. Yeah and the dingus went bye-bye with a Dremel not cause of the magazine issue, just because I didn't like it.
    I forgot to add, mine is hitting well over the 5,000+ rounds also and still going, shooting, brass, JHP, Steel case, Brown Bear ammunition without an issue yet. I also put in a Ghost Angel connector bar in it.

      Unless you have the G45, then your G19 with extended mags isn’t the same as the 19x. I think they changed the barrel from the G19 when making the 19x.

    • @RTTGunsGear
      @RTTGunsGear  Před 5 lety +4

      @@csutcliff There's a whole lot wrong with Mr. Gunn's statement. The x-grip is somewhat known to pinch the palm of your hand, if you have meaty hands. Not only has there been and improvement on the barrel, but the trigger as well. And the grip profile and feel from the 19 to the 17 (19x) is different.
      Sure you can throw a g17 mag into a g19. I've done it fir years without the stupid grip inserts. But a replacement for the 19x, it absolutely isn't.
