    Don't forget that vision in the House of the Undying, where Danny almost sits on the Iron Throne in a room filled with snow, but then turns away. That seems like pretty clear foreshadowing that she will turn away from ruling Westeros in order to save everyone from the army of the dead and the White Walkers.

      I've seen a couple of people say something like this, That she will not sit on the Iron Throne because she will want to fight the White Walkers but - I don't at all understand why she can't become Queen of the Seven Kingdoms AND fight the walkers? Hello? They are not exclusive in the slightest????

    • @JBear87
      @JBear87 Před 7 lety +40

      They are if she dies in the battle, or if the Seven Kingdoms get obliterated in the war, or if she learns that someone else (like Jon) has a better claim to the throne than she does. The theory hinges on something happening to her after she chooses to turn away that would result in R.R. Martin's promised "bittersweet" ending.

      Belle Morte, There is some precedent for that in the quote of Mirri Maz Dur: "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before." Prophecies in GoT are pretty nebulous, though. Still, you are right that the House of the Undying may have just been offering her visions of things she wanted in order to keep her and her dragons.

      I don't think the show and the books will have the same ending. Meaning that the ending of the show will be more satisfying than the book series. Same thing happened with the LoTR books and movies. In the books, The Shire is completely burned down when the Hobbits return from their journey. In the movies it is as if nothing happened. I think something similar is gonna happen with GoT. I hope I'm wrong, but this is what I predict.

      Jon won't win. He doesn't want the Iron Throne, he never has, all he's ever wanted is to become a Stark and he even turned that down when Stannis offered it to him. Maybe Sansa will, but I think that'll be a bit too easy considering George R. R. Martin has already confirmed that the ending is going to be *"bitter-sweet".* An example of a bitter-sweet ending would be that Jon sacrifices himself the greater good of the realm.
      This is a bit worrying as this might be the case, as Sansa says in one of the Season 7 trailers, "The lone wolf dies but the pack survives." Obviously referring to Jon as it cuts to him straight after she says that and the rest of the "pack" is the Starks, as they are known as wolves. So, I don't think it would be that easy.

  • @Kermit-The-Smaug
    @Kermit-The-Smaug Před 7 lety +735

    I don't think dany will become queen. But it's not for this reason. I was rewatching the season 2 finale yesterday and there was a scene that made me feel this way. After the warlocks took the dragons to the house of the undying. She goes to get them back. She circles the tower and disappears for lord friendzones sight. Once in the tower she enters a destroyed throne room. She approaches the iron throne climbs the steps and just before she touches the throne she hears a baby's cry and steps away from the throne. Next thing she knows she is north of the wall and finds a tent. She is pale like really pale. As she enters the tent everything becomes warm and bright. She finds khal and her baby sitting. My theory is that dany gives up the throne for family. Whether that family is Jon snow or someone / something else i don't know.

    • @fitbullaussie9002
      @fitbullaussie9002 Před 7 lety +66

      She is lured by the baby's cry, which makes me think of the Night's King and the sons he was sacrificing to the Others, to keep his Queen perhaps? Maybe the song of ice and fire is between Night's King and Daenerys.

    • @LiVeLiKeURdying2
      @LiVeLiKeURdying2 Před 7 lety +15

      She was born a princess and is already a queen. lol Or are you referring to sitting on the iron throne? The dragons signify as "her calling" and that is why they kept calling her out to her because she had a bigger purpose than to sit on the iron throne. That's why she never truly reached it and turned away which lead her to the wall (the vision). Who will she meet beyond the wall? Think about it... seriously, think about it.

    • @Anonydun81
      @Anonydun81 Před 7 lety +49

      Yeah I think so to. Night King is a magical creature. But so is Dany. Dany was born during a storm that destroyed part of Dragonstone. Dany can't be burned. Dany is not afraid of magic and can use it herself (to bring dragons back to life). A comet appeared when Dany's dragons hatched. Her story arc has been that of an unstoppable force. Just like the Night King. He's magical. He's constantly building his army and moving South. A bit slower and more erratic than Dany, but still there's a feeling of some unstoppable force there. I think Dany and the Night King are opposites and in the end this is what the big fight will be and the Iron Throne is just a side-show. I also think Dany dies with the Night King at the end once her job is finished.

    Olena gave her the same warning. She told her to stop listening to smart men, and instead trust her own instincts. I think a large part of Dany's motivation, is her insecurity and trying to prove she isn't her father. It's going to be her downfall. She isn't a strong leader on her own. This past episode, she wanted to ride out and use the dragons to destroy the iron fleet. She was talked out of it, and look what happened.
    I agree that I think she won't win. I think she will realize this too and sacrifice herself for the greater good.

      You misunderstand what good leadership is: it's also the ability to surround yourself with good advisers, to listen to their advise and, when the case, to take them into consideration. It doesn't mean to follow their advise blindly, but a good leader knows which advise to take and which not. So far Daenerys has done exactly that. The Imp is not a general though, he is a good administrator. That is why they were losing (until now).

      Violet Starlight but Dany's instincts also get her in trouble. She only knows fire and blood through her instincts and GRRM has shown time and time again that using hard power can still lead to ones downfall. Ruling is all about failing and hoping you live long enough to learn from your mistakes. Dany nearly lost Drogon when Bronn shot the spear at him, so she could have easily fucked up with her plans as well.

The "Game" for the Throne is only something that we're supposed to follow until the REAL plot unravels... which is the White Walkers. Just like the Walking Dead isn't really about the walking dead. It's about humans killing each other while a real threat is out there. It's a show about human nature. Just like GoT.

Danys moment to shine will b in using her dragons to defeat the white walkers, a bigger accomplishment than sitting on a throne.

    This theory is probably far too smart and complicated to be in the show, but I love it anyway..... I think the white walkers are gonna win and Bran is gonna have to time travel again to keep trying to fix it. Back when the old guy was training him to be the 3 eyed raven he told Bran to not stay in his visions long or he will get stuck there. I believe he said this not because "he just knows the rules", but because it happened to him before. The old man WAS Bran as an old man which was why he was in the tree's roots in that cave, cause his legs don't work. Bran goes through life seeing the white walkers win every time and when they do he stays in one of his visions to get stuck in the past and live out his life to train himself as a boy again maybe changing some things every time based on the next version of himself's experiences to try and influence people in the right direction so that the living wins. One of these things that I think ends up back firing on him was the Mad King. I believe the Mad King wasn't really mad, but bran could have "accidentally" made him appear mad visiting a past vision of him, just like with Hodor, someone in the present could have said, "BURN THEM ALL!" referring to the white walkers or corpses in general, but the phrase traveled into the vision and caused the "Mad King" to yell it confusing the people in his time into thinking he meant the people of King's Landing.

    First of all neither the series or the books are about who will sit on the Iron throne. It is about the conflict between Ice and Fire and the Battle between the Living and the Dead. Daney is driven by a destiny, but that destiny is not necessarily to sit on the Iron Throne even though she believes that is what it is. Her quest for the Iron Throne was just a vehicle to give her the resources and put her in the right place so she might actually fulfill her real destiny. If she did not have the desire to take the Iron Throne she would not be where she is now with the Dothraki, the unsullied, her three dragons or her other allies. All of her resources will be necessary to combat the White Walkers. Yes she is a person who sense and is driven by destiny. It is that which gives her confidence and direction, not a lust for power or the throne as other might believe. Jon is also a character of destiny but he never realized it, Rather he is always denying and fighting it. Whether she sits on the Iron Throne will be irrelevant. By then she will have already fulfilled her true purpose. I do believe she will recognize that when the time comes.

    west/east- first conquering essos and then westeros
    foward/back- to get the iron throne she has to learn about her past (Going to dragonstone where her ancestors lived)

    I like that everyone has theories and loyalties. However if you read the books you find almost all of the characters redeemable in some way, even Cersie. You see their motives, pasts and insightes you will never get from the tv show.
    Dany in the books is constantly trying to do what she thinks is right, but "no good deed goes unpunished". She is learning the hard way, like most of us do. She is gaurded because of her past, but it doesn't make her unfit.
    I think as far as male opinions about her, like in real life you would condemn her either way. If she ran into battle it would be wrong and spiteful. If she avoided battle, men would say she was soft and inherently unfit to rule. You can't have it both ways.
    In the end she believes in herself and what she thinks is right. That is why I love her as a character no matter how it ends. We need more female characters like her. Women aren't just side story filler or something to look at.

I think that in the end, GRRM goal was to make us understand that there is no god, no mythological figure, no super-man, no hero or anything that will take us in its arms and save us from oblivion. No. But that we are the only ones that can save ourselves, in unity. And that we must put our differences aside, and unite behind a greater good, not behind a greater person.

His decision to enter casterly rock cost the tyrell. His decisions also cost the greyjoy and the martell, dany's allies. Daenerys wanted to ambush the lannisters, he opposed, good thing dany went on ambushing the lannisters as opposed to tyrions decision. Time and again, tyriom failed dany a lot lately, which is a bit strange for me coz he always makes good and winning decisions. Now that jon and dany are together, it is so difficult to break their power. No wonder tyrion was so troubled when he found out in the last episode that dany and jon made love. There must be a story behaind it. Lets see what hapoens next. Tyrion being the villain will be the most unpredictable ending of the show. I hope i would be incorrect in the end.

    Dani will win the battle of the last war but when people think everything is over she will have another vision that would make her go to Asshai. There she will be convinced to give up Westeros and instead she will go back to Essos where she will revive Valyria and breed more dragons and rule Essos. Jon will then be the King of Westeros which means that she and Jon Snow will never be together because Dani is destined to be more than just a lady of any man and giving this truth no one can have it all. Hence she must give up her love for Jon Snow.

    As much as everyone loves Dany, she has had a downfall since season 4 I believe? Granted she has every reason to reclaim her land, she has done so in many ways that reflect the actions of the Mad King, crucifying, slaughtering those who will not follow her. When we first saw Dany, she was wearing all white. As the seasons progress, her garments have darkened from shades of blue to black, her innocence no longer exists. I'll probably be one of the only people to say this, but I hope she dies at the end by the hand of one of her dragons. Sure, reunite her with Khal Drogo to make everyone happy, but she either needs a serious attitude adjustment or needs to be reminded that she is falling in the same path as the Mad King.

He saw his mother on a ship going to King's Landing, he saw his father and sisters in King's Landing, he saw White Walkers to the north and dragons in Asshai. Given that three of these events were happening in real time, likely the dragons exist as well. Quaithe said that fire is power. If she's a conqueror and not a throne sitter I'd imagine she'll end up in Asshai at some point.

    Eventually she was betrayed by the last lion, as she was warned, he betrayed her all the way. Not always exactely on purpose, but the advises Tyrion gave meant first to save his twisted-sick brother and sister and not to serve Daenerys. If you think of it, she could end with Cersei right after arriving from Essos to Dragonstone, she had no reason to send Jon behing the wall, the death of Viserion could have been avoided, therefore the battle against the Night King as well. She lost Rehagel and Missandi as well as her other allias because she listend to Tyrion advises (sending Jon behind the wall could end much worse, and anyway risking the alliance with the North (that is, Jon) for peace with Cersei wasn't in Daenerys or anyone in Westeros interest). Tyrion was the worst thing that happened to her. All he did, he did first and formost in purpose to save Jaime and Cersei. This was treason and I guess this is not his last one.

    Daenerys and Jon captures the Night King by Bran warging into Viserion. They bind the king with Valerian steel chains on a funeral pyre. Bran forces Viserion to ignite the the Night King with blue flames, and Dany tells Drogon "dracarious" and lights the wood on the pyre, of course it being arranged in one of those magic pinwheel shapes the children of the forest used, as well as the White Walkers. Then she walks into the flames and kills the Night King with a Valarian steel sword by cutting out the dragon glass the children of the forest drove into him. The Night King turns back to human form, and is flesh and blood again. This sacrifice brings Viserion back from the undead realm.

    • @RachaelLewis68
      @RachaelLewis68 Před 6 lety +2

      Another detail: when Drogon's and Viserion's flames merge together on the Night King's pyre, he is then lit up with a green flame, like wild fire, so when Daenarys stabs him where the dragon glass was inserted, and he becomes human a few seconds, then he shatters into dragon glass instead of shards of ice. Of course Dany would need a message from Bran, or a meeting at that weird looking tree Bran lives in to receive instructions on how or she would just kill the Night King immediately. But if the possibility existed to regain one of her children, she would do ritualistically instead of hastily.

    • @RachaelLewis68
      @RachaelLewis68 Před 6 lety +1

      RachaelLewis68 Jon Snow is petting Viserion, because he appeared to fall dead when the Night King died, like regular wights do. But Viserion wakes up after a few suspenseful moments, and Jon is the first person he sees, so Viserion imprints on him. So Jon gets to ride around on him like the Night King did. Rafael flies off to the shadow land and lays some eggs. Dany and Jon have differences and separate...

      RachaelLewis68 Another twist, but I haven't read the books, but I hope its enjoyable fan-fiction to those who are reading--
      Tyrion and his disgust with Jon for kinda ruining the truce between Cersie and and Daenarys, drives him to plot behind the scenes. He blabs to Varys, who has his own plots, and afterwards it is discovered they both have been dealing treacherously (maybe by observant Greyworm tips them off), he and Varys flees. Somehow [insert theory here] they end up in the shadowlands. Tyrion is spotted by Ragael who happened to be flying over (like when Drogon flew over the boat Jorah had him kidnapped on). Ragael swoops back, because he/she/it remembered the time when Tyrion released it from the chains in the pyramid of Mureen. He let's Tyrion, and reluctantly let's Varys ride it back to where Khaleesi is engaged in some battle, and does some valiant act to redeem themselves.

    From what I've seen from the new season so far, Daenerys is starting to be more ruthless and perhaps paranoid. I wonder if she may eventually suffer the same fate as her father and grandfather. She may become a tyrant. Considering the John Snow Targaryen link we saw in the last season, I wonder perhaps if John will somehow take over for her.

      Euron will sit on the throne because Cercei will be murdered, then he will die in fight with Walkers. But then Walkers will be defeted by Jon, Jaime and Brianne :D

      Tracee El That moment when the guy shows some solid evidence for his theory that she can't win and her winning the Iron Throne is too obvious, and we all know that Game of Thrones is super unpredictable and shocking, but you don't listen because you're probably just some idiot and your overrated Mary Sue character has to win just because she's a woman and "YAS QUEEN".

    I like ur vid but I have to say that I have lost count of the number of vids and threads all over youtube and the rest of internet about how Dany will never be queen of Westeros because thats too predictable. Yet, no one ever mentions just how ridiculously predictable it would be to see JON become King of Westeros. I dont mind Dany not becoming Queen because I agree with the theory that she will likely die in the end BUT it would be incredibly stupid to make Jon King. There is nothing unique about making Jon king. We have countless of stories about secret princes raised as underdog commoners becoming kings including LOTR, King Arthur and many others. Jon becoming king is a rehash of LOTR's ending and is probably the most predicable ending since the show started

      A good ending would be the complete erasure of monarchy and lordship from Westeros and the introduction to democracy. I think this is what Tyrion wants.
