    check the power wire going to the alternator see if it's getting hot❗️ If the new alternator is putting out double the amperage then you'll need a heavier gauge wire powering the alt.❗️ also run the heaviest gauge wire you can from the solenoid to the battery❗️ and add multiple ground wires from the battery to the frame and from the frame to the engine❗️

      Definitely the best advice. Also I'd probably see if there is an upgraded tps or tpi sensor. I had a few issues basically the same and changing the ground wires and battery along with the tpi it worked perfect until the diff snapped. Currently sitting in the garage for a month or so until funds are available for a new diff

      My thoughts exactly, i like the car but if you can't even set pre load and leave off a transbreak your not getting very far and a blower car should be on big tires in my opinion but i guess a 28 10.5 can work if you have the right setup which is important to go with what you know works thats the only part i disagree with other than that i like the unike cars online

      Big tire isn't necessary. I've been 1.teens consistently on stock suspension with nitrous and blower. It's all in the setup. Big tires with around 1200hp is a waste. You'll go faster on the smaller tire.
      I'm guessing you run a N/A BB. With a set up like that I can understand a 10.5W tire because you want to leave with everything to ET. Combination and tuning everything.

    • @freedomfox8183
      @freedomfox8183 Před 4 lety +1

      @Eric K exactly, I've had it happen after replaced alternator that's why I suggested. Checking it, sometimes it's the easiest fix no parts required it just gets over looked but it was just an idea..

    • @waynebollentin989
      @waynebollentin989 Před 4 lety

      @@freedomfox8183 It depends on the kit. I'm not 100% sure what Nick has. For what I'm referring to. Nick isn't dropping boost if he was. It wouldn't be the problem. Even if he's was loosing a lot of boost.These are completely to different problems obviously what we're talking about here too.
      Now even if he has a 2 belt system. The belt would have to be so loose it would come off to cause a charging issue. Yet still should have enough power to make a pass. It's much much harder to turn a blower and any slipping is noticed. Can't compare the two.
      His problem is most likely the battery. I've always ran either 2 batteries or 16v system with this much electrical load. I didn't even run an alternator on my straight race car stuff and more reason I find it impossible to be the alternator. I'd throw the charge on after the pass and would be ready for the next round. Even when the rounds were short.
      I never had an issue running multiple accessories. I ran water pump, intercooler pump, data logger, F.A.S.T engine management, ignition system, fans for the cooling system, trans and even little one me etc. Gets Hot as fuck in a #20 suit. After watching a friend almost burn up. I know first had how important 10 more seconds can be. I take no chances.
      The other most likely cause is a wiring problem, like bad ground, shorting, sizing, etc. I believe he's still using the stock size battery cable which may be a problem.
      No way it's a belt problem . I'd call bullshit even if he tried to claim it.
      Even if the belt slips like your talking about. The alternator will still be spinning more then fast enough with a loose belt to charge the car. That's the difference.
      Like I said many of us don't even run an alternator. Specially heads up guys. You tend to find them on bracket cars because how fast rounds can go and the amount of rounds you have to deal with when you keep winning.

    Throttle sensor on the pedal? Throttle positioning sensor?
    Electrical, second battery or what about a deep cycle marine battery?

    You should definitely get a driven by cable throttle body.

    I do a fair bit of work in live sound. Power issues are my number one enemy. I just had a gig where both sides of my PA would just drop out randomly, but not simultaneously. It was infuriating. Same generator I always use for outdoor gigs, same power distribution setup, and yet issues all day long, worse than I've ever seen before. Just maddening to see anything get dragged down by power issues.

    My guess.... Pedal position sensor. The vibrations from all those bald eagles. Electronics and vibration don't mix well. Great work keep it up!!!

    Voltage issues man. Change cable from alternator to battery with better and 2 or 0 gauge. Look at monster or streetwires. Change put grounds make new ones

    Its possible the battery cables are to small not able to carry the required voltage thats why the voltage seems to bottleneck maybe install a second bigger cable to the alternator to test

    Maybe you bent the throttle body plate, or maybe torqued the bar on the plate? Making it not respond like it should. Maybe the throttle body position sensor?

    Had a similar issue and we grounded the whole car with a grounding kit. Seemed to fix our drag car. It was a 1300hp Supra

    With all the systems you have running, and the high inductive load high flow fuel pumps you have now, it could be a wiring issue.. Whenever I do a high amperage Car Audio, CB or lighting setup I run an additional heavy gauge cable, usually 4 Gauge from the alternator to the battery. Also, I run additional heavy gauge cables from the ground to the frame and one onto the engine block. This seems to alleviate issues with noise, and charging issues. You may have done this already, but it doesn't hurt to throw it out there.

    Does someone make a conventional cable driven throttle body the same size you have right now? Cletus had the same problem with Leroy and the new throttle body fixed the problem you’re having. If you haven’t figured it out that might be your fix.

    I like this video i cant imagine having all this trouble i have enough with my 9.90 bracket car (set with a throttle shut off so it runs 9.90-9.94 everytime with hopefully no breakouts lol) but that is a simple big tire 502 punched out to a 509ci with just a regular 2step MSD and 2 speed powerglide.. yes the car will go 9.40 and 9.0x on nitrous as it has and i like how he explained preload. I first had mine set with a lot and yes my tire is 3 times the size but i also had a lot more time on my hands and a car that weighes nothing compared to the beautiful new cameros like you have i just got an ugly old 1980 malibu but racing is very fun dont give up. Bottom line all the rambling is provent like he said my simple set up i knew would work, or you can be like everyone else and buy a fox body and throw a 5.7 (350 small block) in with a nice ol turbo and power glide and be crushing into 7 second passes and 4.90 1/8th which is a lot of what we have by you in upstate ny right by buffalo and p.a
    Over all keep it up, love the energy of racing coming back and cant wait to see whats instore with both of your machines. Great video!

  • @ToxicA55hat

    Pedal assembly for the throttle issue. Sensor not serviceable alone. Voltage issue is either bad or not enough grounds or alternator pulley wrong size for your application. Math is your friend. Figure out what pulley size you need to get proper voltage while idling and low speed. and get an overruning pulley(OAP) that size for it. Or switch to a 16 volt system although not necessary.
