- The scene in which The Giver plays the piano for Jonas, opening his ears to music.
I do not take any credit for the making of this film. Everything depicted is from the motion picture The Giver by Lois Lowry - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Who else read the book and watched the movie in school
Colby Wilson me
Me
Finished the movie to day in school
Colby Wilson me I am reading it in school now lol
I’m doing that right now watching to movie next week
This movie didn’t get the attention it deserves. So underrated.
Bates DD shows some hidden truth about heaven see the tree of life
Dude wtf? I mean like literally everyone is doing this in their schools, the book and the film. So it's getting much attention
Bates DD its nothing like the book sooo
Here's sheet music to the song for whoever wants it

It’s a Rock Fact the movie is only good if you read the book. It’s not that great without it
My absolute favorite scene in the movie
Mine too
+McNipple Tron same here
XD
Can you imagine? Never hearing music and for the first time, hearing a beautiful song like that.
+McNipple Tron same
+McNipple Tron same. exept for mabey when the memories return or when Jonas decides hes ready
This scene led me to understand how truly gifted we are to have music in are lives!
Not just music, this movie taught me to appreciate everything we feel and see
Dominic M too bad we can't have proper grammar
"precision of language"
PRECISION OF LANGUAGE PLEASE DOMINIC
Brandon Banks lol
Amazing scene. It wasn't in the book but this captures the theme of the giver.
+CrazyMix23 I read the book first. The movie adds so much to the book! It just like changes half the story! Still, the movie was great. The only thing I wish they didn't change was that in the book Jonas is 12, in the movie he is 18.
+RongeyFilms it's better when he's older.
+RongeyGames im not trying so be smart and all but the author of the book said that they were 16 in the movie not 18
kristina shapovalov I thought in the book, Jonas just turned 12?
jeremiah petty yea but in English class we discussed that they were trying to relate it to our world by being 18
I can't imagine a life without music
Nia Richardson me neither
There's such a small chance that you'll ever see this but if you're still around, you should check out "Explained" on Netflix. There's an episode about music that goes into the biology and psychology of the music that surrounds us.
@@jude2223 thanks

Me neither
"Feelings are just fleeting, on the surface. But emotions, they are very deep, primal, they linger . . . You might not understand where you are or what's happening, but don't *think* about what you are seeing. LISTEN.... _listen_ to what is calling from inside."
Dean Garber "precision of language please"
Brandon Banks "I could not be more precise."
This book and then movie changed the entire way that I look at my life.
Brandon Banks it’s straight from
The movie; it’s as precise as it gets when it’s a straight quote and has the proper grammar.
I was looking for this quote
I get goose bumps every time I listen to this its so pretty
Me to it's the weirdest thing it really makes you think about life
Me too!
It's the primal emotions the giver was talking about!
me too
Amy Lu :D
As different as the movie was from the book, I really love this scene.. this song is one of very few songs that moves me, and imagine it being the first piece of music you ever hear.. incredible, really.
I completely agree
Woah
Ashley Thomsen I know what you feel I have been practicing for a while and I’ve almost got it down
There are countless pieces of music that truly move me, and this piece is one of them! So beautiful, full of profound emotions!
THE Giver: "You're not seeing anything today."
10 seconds later he gives a memory to Jonas
Brick By Brick He might have been using the lie rule, or he genuinely forgot.
He is seeing with his mind, with his emotions. The music becomes the vision.
He only showed him the music, Jonas mind did the rest..
Enjoy :)
He's _not_ seeing anything. He's hearing something.
Levi Burns he saw people dancing but ok and Enderz he saw a girl dancing and heard music BUT WHATEVER U SAY APPARENTLY
Oh yeah, forgot about that part.
"The table? All the food would slide to the floor..." I didn't hear him say this while watching the movie but now I find it humorous.
This was such a great movie, especially the way the memories are done.
I agree the memories were very artistic and colorful and really made the movie beautiful
i have to say it is a good movie but i do like the book better
Don't mean to be rude but the movie is kind of bland.
This song makes me want to cry but also happy. When I hear the song it makes me have mixed emotions
same man
I think that's why they chose this song
This song makes me wish we lived in a world without crime and we all lived in peace to strive to better ourselves. Sadly that's only in the federation universe.
S Q Having a perfect world means getting rid of everything everyone find as a flaw (people aren’t flaws) and everyone loves things people find as a flaw (reference to Steven Universe Change your mind episode)
Precision of Language.
At 2:15 when the music and the dancing appear, it completely takes over my emotions and moves me in a way that only music can. Its beautiful . I think it affects many of you the same way. I hope so.
rrhone i was thinking the same thing, just didn't know how to explain
This scene is the visual embodiment of pure joy.
It really does I thought it was just me
This is my favorite scene in the entire movie like if you agree
Gaming Heroes I so agree with u on this
_TheAlbinoPheonix _ same🦀
The giver is such a good movie! I also enjoyed the book as well!
It was wonderful.
It's nice to see someone who also likes the movie and the book equally
+Valerie Hund I know right in my class we read the book first and we loved it and then we saw the movie and I loved it. And that's like 1 of 67 students. Everyone but me was bitchin about the part that were in the book and we're not in the movie.
I also wonder if the book would make a great video game.
+Jake Rutigliano some movie video games don't make it very far
+Micheal Spears What I mean to say is a video game based PURELY on the book. I know the first three video game adaptations of the Harry Potter series balanced the book and movie references quite right. Even the video game adaptations of the Hobbit took some elements from the source material as well as the movie.
This movie is honestly one of the best movies ever to me
Book is better js
+Michael Johnson Book sucks
The book was amazing, if not for it, this movie wouldn't be possible.
+Nick Holmes i feel ya bro 😂
1st does not equal better, take Age of Ultron and Civil War for example, or Portal and Portal 2
I never cry for any movies but during this scene, I felt the emotion that The Giver was talking about and that Jonas' community was missing. Tears came down.
Shane Jiang Me too! I rarely cry during movies and this scene made me ball my eyes out.
This is the best scene in the whole movie...The Giver's voice is so calming, especially while he's playing the beautiful melody,
"Feelings are just fleeting, on the surface. But emotions, they're very deep, primal, they linger. Jonas, you might not understand where you are or what's happening, but don't think about what you're seeing. Listen. Listen to what's calling from inside." One of the best lines from a movie ever.
I understand why he explains emotions when playing the piano. As a (very bad) pianist I know the only way to play a song well, is to put your own emotions into them.
2:21 to 2:37 is amazing! I wish there was a whole song of just that part.
It's actually not that hard to play
same!!!!
Kpow414 So there’s no official song attached to this part? :( Even for the pianio part itself?
czcams.com/video/AJQwF6VHluQ/video.html
This is the song with both the piano and the violin. It's my favorite song right now.
Quite liked the movie. It wasn't the book for sure, but it was really good nonetheless. And this scene is really good.
This was one of the very special and rare scenarios where I actually preferred the movie over the book!!! Anybody else?
Izzy ya aa biiiuuuoiiii
I love both equally
I know, I'm tired of people choosing the book just because the movie doesn't follow it perfectly. A lot of times the movies make the story even better by adding stuff the real author didn't think of.
@@tarheel777100 i liked the scene a lot, I think the movie complements the book, after all is an adaptation and adaptations dont have to be the exact same
@@tarheel777100 When I love both the book and the movie, even if they're somewhat different, I love having two versions of the story to enjoy.
So powerful. our world is a lot more like this one than most people realize.
Brian Hunter i was thinking the exact same thing. Everything is fake. Just plain fake. It's really freakin sad actually...
exactly :) were always being watched there are cameras on every corner, everyone is on some type of medication, the us government monitors anything and everything we do... its a crazy time to e alive
Brian Hunter and everyone tries to be the same and they don't show their real emotions. It is a hard time to be alive...
I have started the last week by waking up, and weeping, first sadness, followed by tears of joy.
Usually for 30 minutes i will ball my eyes out.
Only in that moment I feel the most human. I feel what IS inside of me, and it wants out. I want to be fully human.
aw
2:07 I deadass thought he was about to start a rap
I just want that violin version that played during the wedding!!! If only I could find it!
It’s only the violin but it’s called the giver rosemary’s theme piano and violin
William Lowery me too!!
I'll play it at your wedding!!
One of the things I like about the rosemary theme, is that to me. It makes me feel almost every emotion. Love, loss sadness happiness. And hope. This song has power, more than that of a congress president or king. If more people listened, we would be in a better place.
Favorite part of the movie!!😭😞😭😄
IKR
Jonas seems so fascinated. I believe that we have all taken music for granted. We are blessed to have it.
I loved this movie and the book so much I love the music
here in 2022 and this scene gives me chills unlike any other
At 2:07 I thought he was gonna start spitting bars
Wym, he did
FR LMFAO😭😭
This actually made me feel true powerful emotions that I can’t explain...
When he gives him the memories of music, and they go back in time to ancient music when everyone seemed so happy, such a beautiful scene
If only we still had this type of music today
This scene mAde me cry
This scene always gave me chills and I’ll never forget it
The movie deserves so much more attention and love. The story is beautifully portrayed and even though it's different from the book, it still is really good
Best scene. We watched this in class today and it felt truly magical.
i cry everytime i watch this scene
Beautiful. And one of the best movies I've ever seen
It's beautiful because there is pain and joy and very strong emotions so strong that it brought me to tears and who ever create this is a musical genius and understands the way of life through... the way of hearing and seeing the gift of memories.
I cannot remember anything from this movie except for this one scene. It’s beauty and (ironically) the emotion stuck with me all of this time.
As a metal musician, this really captures what it's like to create music in general. It's the pinnacle of our emotions and how we express ourselves in the best way possible. I really appreciate this scene and it always gives me chills.
well I'm inspired and when I hear music that makes me feel I remember how much I love music!!!
I watched this movie today, as we had previously listened to the audio book. I felt this scene on a spiritual level, as I also play the piano. I felt like breaking down into tears but I couldn’t because I was in font of my peers.. it’s such a good movie with such deep meaning
This is literally my favorite scene from the movie. It made me cry 😂
I feel like Jonas when I listen to this. Its just, I have heard music before, unlike him.. But never any music like this. The song is just so beautiful. By the way, if anyone knows, why wrote the song?
So many years sense I’ve seen this for the first time and this scene still gives me chills! One of my all time favorites to hear on a piano
I replayed this scene at least four times it’s so beautiful ugh
Can't get enough of this wcene
This made me have a new perspective on life, this movie is a hidden gem and so is the book
My second favorite scene from all time I love this movie it means so much.
What would your first be?
What's ur first?
This is truly the most amazing movie I have ever seen. It tells and shows the loving things, and the horrible things about the world that they never knew. Including music, and emotion.
Jeff Bridges is a terrific actor loved him in iron man
This movie makes me realise how beautiful life is
I love this scene, every time I here it, tears come rolling down my eyes 💙 very inspiring of what he says about music really touches my heart💞
This scene make me appreciate freedom and life. Its been 6 years since i watched this movie and it still linger in my mind.
I like how the giver says I'm not very good even though I had a very good teacher... That holds true with many things, a person who is very good at something got that way because of the person mentoring them and that person recognized something in you that you didnt know you had and pushed you to be better than them, even though you will never think you are, the world needs more of those people
I don't have words to describe what I feel. Such an excellent scene.
I’m glad y’all saying what yall saying cuz I thought I was weird or something for having goosebumps, feeling my tears well up, feeling the primal emotions he’s talking about... it’s so strange!
I’m obsessed with this scene because one, I love the music so much, two, I love how he is playing the piano as he is talking, it is just such a great scene
This was one of my favorite books growing up. It was crazy to watch even though they left alot of stuff out and changed a few things I still liked it. This scene was one of my favorites. It gave me goosebumps when he teaching about emotions while playing the piano to transitioning to the memory
i cried in this part when i saw it
I absolutely love this scene
I watched this scene so many times and I’m learning how to ply this song
This scene is so beautiful, I can’t ever imagine my own life without music
My favorite scene in the movie. :)
I get goosebumps
All comments are from so long ago! I read the book at school and then watched the movie. It's so beautiful and really fitting for the theme ;)
Love this part of the movie
Anytime anyone needs an extra for a scene like that, COUNT ME IN!!!!
This scene is so perfect
i didn't like the movie, but i wish this was in the book. Such a moving scene. Music is a gift
This song so many emotions sadnesses happiness loneliness together all these emotions come to me when I hear this song and thx for making this beautiful song
“I thought those injections were for our health”
Aye
I remember I read and saw the giver (book and movie) when I was in 5th grade now I'm in 7th grade so close go high school , proud I got that far, and I learned to play piano at near the beginning of this new year in 7th grade , I'm still learning since I don't know how to read sheet music that well yet , but I do know a couple of songs , so because I was playing my piano I just started playing random notes because I was bored and I wanted to see if someday I could make my own music with the piano , then I play the notes A , C, E in a specific pattern and it sounded so familiar, I stressed myself to remember were it came from, than I remembered this wonder story and the music , I quickly type in my tablet tutorials for this song and now I'm learning this beautiful piece with such great meaning , I decided I want to see this movie again I want to read the book again it's was just to good to be read/saw only once ,
So now I'm here
2 years later and since I was in 5th grade I dreamed of someday playing this piece and that "someday" in today and tomorrow and beyond
I swear this scene always gives me goosebumps!
When saw it I realized it was a gift to me I'm elderly so when I told my son I saw it he said he read the book already!❤️
the notes in 1:10 make me ughhh so beautiful 😫
when i first watched this movie, it was in class, after we had read the book and when the scene came i started balling my eyes from the music and my classmates thought there was
something wrong with me 😂
There is something "wrong" with you, compared to your stoic classmates, you have a soul.🌟
This probably my favorite scene in the whole movie
Loved the movie, also the piano scene! Thank you
like if you read the book and saw the movie
I actually got a piano ad before this vid lmao
This is my all time favorite movie
This movie is so powerful and sets me in a state of peace and makes me feel deep about life amen
Wth I feel happy and sad at the same time ;-;
On the other side I wanna cry...
But on another side im feeling really happy ;-;
eMoTiOnS
This is probably my favorite scene from the movie. So much depth in it. Overall the movie is amazing, i'm so annoyed that Divergent overshadowed it, this was supposed to be the futuristic dystopia YA movie for everyone to talk about
One of my fav parts! I love the theme! It's sooo beautiful!
You know a good song when it can make you smile, bring a tear to your eye, inspire you and just leave a whole mess of emotions inside you. This is one of those few songs that are like that (for me Atleast) from the first A to the final note. I'm currently learning it myself. A beautiful piece, this is.
Best movie ever.
I going to leave my comment so every time someone likes it I will come back to this masterpiece
This is my favorite scene in the movie.
0:28 LMAOOO jonas sees the piano with the top up and is like "Table? ... but all the food would slide off 😦" comedy
Music starts at 0:49
Thank u I was replaying this at like 1:03
Only if they didn't make this movie into a love story but what it was meant to be and how it was written. With that being said this is one of my favorite changes to a book ever. It was like listening to music for the first time all over again. It was so pure. There were better ways they could've handled this scene but all in all it is so beautiful.
It wasnt that much of a love story really, but of course Love is one of the most important emotions, and what fuels us
@@lauramena2121 I agree, I felt like it kinda added to the book, it was interesting seeing Jonas showing emotions to Fiona.
@@lionsgamers592 didnt he have feelings for her in the book? But he never said anything i think. I vividly remember him saying in the book how much her eyes stood out to jonas
@@jon7684 Yeah, he even had a "wet dream" about her lmao. But it never centered entirely around that, at least not as much as the movie does.
This is a absolutely beautiful scene!
I remember the day I went to the movies to watch The Giver. Still get chills. I just love this movie so much.
