    Man, I remember old flash games. Made for most of my childhood during school. And despite flash being gone now, there is actually still a massive archive collecting all these games to this day. (Thanks BlueMaxima! Highly recommend.) ❤

    I think newgrounds is a bit different as it has more of a personality that doesn't scale. In contrast Miniclip can go on anything.

    • @vest816
      @vest816 Před rokem +5

      I agree. NewGrounds is still fairly active among those who use it as a social media alternative, particularly artists. It's great in that it has an old-school community-driven algorithm (still using 5-star ratings, favorites, and comments to drive engagement metrics/recommendations) so artists don't feel like they're shouting over eachother to get attention or getting shafted by exploitative hacks manipulating the system. NewGrounds is seldom the primary showcase for artists, but its 25+ year existence solidifies it as a damn dependable fallback should one of our social media channels suddenly go all Tumblr on us.

      @@vest816new grounds shows that catering to a niche audience and sticking by them works. As long as they don't start pandering and throwing their users under the bus they will still have a good core userbase

    I didn't have any consoles or a computer capable of playing anything other than 10 year old edu-tainment games in the mid 2000s, but I did have a decent internet connection and probably visited Miniclip almost every day. I still go online to Miniclip, Nitrome, and Addictinggames once every other year or so.

    I just found this channel today. I'm not sure if there are a bunch of hidden videos that will be discovered in the future but there must be because releasing content at this level out the gate is incredible. I hope there are some lost videos so that I have more to watch lol. Your older content is better than many of the larger channels I follow that cover similar topics. Your most recent stuff far exceeds what I am currently seeing on the platform. You have a lot of talent and I can't wait for you to hit 1 million subscribers before the end of next year if not sooner.

    Trials was a great example of a type of flash game that captured my mind EVERYTIME I played miniclip. And when I sawbb by it came to Xbox like 15 years ago… I still play to this day. Trials rising is by far my absolute favorite. And they’ve got the most insane Easter egg in gaming by far. It’s been solved. But we won’t see the reveal… and it consists of fb 5 keys that need to be brought under the Eiffel Tower in 2114 on a certain day. 1 key will open the Easter egg prize thing. But all 5 have to be present for the 1 person to be able to open. And the keys are going to have to be kept and passed down generational! How cool is that!

    Many good memories using the school computers to play miniclip, notdoppler, and other independent websites like everybody edits, all the CS clones, even Roblox. While some may have stood after the fall of adobe, it saddens me that the free gaming sphere of today is boiled down to the same 3 bored concepts, with endless ads and in game purchases. Gone are the days where people are making games just for the fun of it, everything now has to be profitable, and riddled with updates, and DLC. I guess that’s the natural progression in any industry in this late stage capitalist economy.

    We need to bring back browser games .i hate having to install games on my PC or phone i have low storage and often the installation glitches out .
    we have the technology to make good browser games. that will work on both PC and mobile .but game devs don't want to do that .because it's not trendy anymore compared to mobile games.

    used miniclip at ele and middle school to bypass runescapes block lmao but it was my go to flash game site as a kid,.Dust, the pixel substance sandbox emulator game, was one of the best, especially when the creator added players and you could fight with them against another person. Another series that was S tier as a kid was on Armor Games with Bubble Tanks along with Kongregate that had SAS Zombie Assult 3 (4 sucks ass compared to 3 btw) and newgrounds was for nsfw games/art that i shouldnt have been looking at so young :P
    I never got into mobile games on smartphones and so i never knew that miniclip grew so large and went into that space.

    • @salmansengul
      @salmansengul Před rokem +9

      The point is that Flash Games were "small" casual games which were "easy" to develop for when you wanted to play a quick game. Therefore what he says makes sense. They're essentially the same thing, but nowadays are made using other technology than Flash.
      Edit: All free games today are Freemium. So Freemium games are the new flash games in a way!?
