- A couple pulls on my 2024 KTM 990 Duke against Brandon Floyd on his 2023 KTM 890 Duke R. Both bikes have stock engines, but Brandon’s 890 has the Akrapovic full Titanium exhaust system with Akrapovic mapping from KTM, and my bike just has the full stock exhaust system.

There's no way an 890R can look bad. Still one of the most brilliant bikes out there. Lighter and better looking than the 990.
Great to see the no. 62 plate on the 990. Are you planning to race it at the Ridge in Hooligans later this month?
As an 890R owner, I’m sad to see it behind the 990. Guess I’ll be looking for a 990R next year.

suprising considering that I assume the 890 is akra mapped @ 125hp and lighter, I guess the torque is higher at lower rpm
Mine is leaking oil since day 1 but i hope is a small issue... What mods do you have since I want to track mine, but I'm a total novice at track riding so what are your suggestions?
Thoughts on the 890R vs the 990? I prefer the looks and the smaller size of the 890. And it also helps they are selling the 890's heavily discounted at the moment.
The 990 isn’t any bigger despite its appearance. I am really liking it so far! Hoping to be healed enough to race later this month.
Hey there! I'm an owner of a Duke 890 R from China. In my country, the 990 Duke hasn't been launched and available for sale yet. I'd like to ask, is there a big difference in the riding experience between the 990 Duke and the 890 Duke R? If the gap is really obvious, I'll sell my 890 Duke R at the current relatively high price and wait to buy a 990 Duke when it enters China.
Not trying to be confrontational by any means Andy was just curious what the numbers were. I understand if it’s because you are sponsored by Ktm and they don’t want them posted yet and have asked you not too. Like I said I was just curious how they compare to other bikes as well as my tuned 23 890r Duke w. Full Akra (123.93hp/75.48 torque). I never got a stock Dyno run. So I don’t know what it would have been. I’ve heard numbers being around 111hp. Btw my 890r Duke was running lean with the full Akra system. The fuel pump apparently was maxed out and we had to install a larger fuel pump to get the correct fuel to air ratios. Anyway good luck with racing the 990. With it being heavier you shouldn’t have to add the lead weights to the bike this year like you did on the 890. So maybe you can be more competitive with racing Jeremy McWilliams. Lol

Not sure yet we haven’t finished race prepping it or weighed it
@@andydibrino How tall are you? Been considering replacing Superduke with an R version if they make it next year, I’ve sat on one few times and feels too small for me at 6ft.
The 1290 is too much for me on track days but the physical size of it is better.
I am confused, the thumbnail shows a lighter more powerful 132whp 890 Duke r. Are you suggesting a heavier 990 with 123 at the crank is faster. Please explain?
That’s incorrect. Thumbnail is the 990 in the video.
Has anyone Dyno the 990 yet. I’m not convinced that a stock 990 is faster than a stock 890r duke. The 890r duke is lighter and with the same weight riders should beat the 990 in a drag race as well as out corner it with its better suspension and breaks.
It’s pretty clear the 990 was faster. We haven’t been able to tune my bike yet. The Dyno numbers we are seeing aren’t exactly what I had hoped we would see from a stock 990. I won’t share that but in time you’ll probably see Dyno stuff pop up
Do you think the new engine will be more reliable based on what others say about cams on 890/790
Personally I’ve never had cam issues on my 790 or any of the 3 890’s I’ve had, so I can’t really speak to what people say on the forums. My bikes have been rock solid after all the abuse I put them through
@@andydibrino yeah I don't believe the hype personally on the cam issues and chalk it up to a small number of people that spread gossip. Mostly from people who haven't even owned one
