That return to sender kill is still one of the best shots I’ve ever seen.

@@disconneck1363 Nope. It was the right configuration. If you look at the video, he aimed one of his weapon from inside toward that portal. He was using that portal to shoot with his flack and didn't realize he opened a door directly to the core.
Elgate it’s not wrong because he has his weapon facing into the portal but the portal was facing his core. Image the portal being on the opposite side of the flak cannon with the cannon being flipped. This could allow you to still shoot out towards the enemy’s, while any potential shots that come through go out the back end/towards your cannons rather than your core.
It's a PORTABLE idea

I'm thinking howitzers + 20mm is going to be strong. Barrage them with the 20s to suppress anti-air or wreck any that fires, helping your howitzer shell get through.
Also, if Forts isn't sponsoring you, they should. Just bought the game this weekend after watching a bunch of your videos.

I bought the game too because of these vids, but for me, it's not as fun as just watching
Sadly CZcams is ruining Earned Media . . . It's been cut in half for a lot of games . . . Since 44% of people looking for a game to play are doing it on CZcams.
Honestly, this DLC is looking so OP in your hands and is definitely gonna change the team meta!

Well let's see.
Well aimed shot from an experienced player with a canon?

Straight portal reflection?
100%
Portal changing the elevation up or down to get lined up for shooters weapon portal?
50%
Chance of weapon variation making shot hit portal and not ground or front of base?
50%
Shot making it to the core from the back portal with all that background bracing and tech?
50%
80% x 100% x 50% x 50% x 50% = 10%
So about 10% chance of that shot making it through to the core with that set up once the shot is fired.

Honestly, the chance is much lower. Starting with the fact, that this setup was pretty stupid. This placement made it so the most vulnerable part of the fort could be hit from the front. So why would anybody build that? The portals offered the exact opposite of protection.
Just the chance of someone building that is extremly low.
Well from my current sample size I can conclude that it should happen exactly once per game.
That was the exact wrong trajectory.
Now you're thinking with portals.

Because on pre-recorded videos he plays with random denizens of internet, which are mostly quite lackluster. Go to his streams if you want to see him facing off more professional opponents.

I have several ideas for portals.
If you put a portal in front of a cannon, and then have a 1 high portal on the front side of the base, you can have back to back cannons in the rear of your base that fire into portals that come out the front of the base.
If you build a portal wall in front of your base and on the back of your base, and then build a roof of sandbags you can have a near invincible base and not have to worry about attacking friends.

Hey you should place Doors in front of the portals so the enemies can't shoot back inside your base.
It won't open automatically but I think It'll work better than shutting on and off portals.
he needs to shut them off to switch them to the other set of howitzers, so doors would probably just add an extra step

Or even better make it so he can shoot at the same portal with all howitzers
@@Sha.ll0w He could make 4 portals, though that would take up more vertical space, so there's a trade off. firing all 4 howitzers at once would be powerful though.
The portals are 1 to 1, so while it would be cool to have them all exit the same portal, it currently doesn't work that way.
LOLOLOL That cannon shot went from that guy, into your portal, back out, into his OWN portal, and out the other side into the rear of his base, gutting his own core's supports.
Also Incursus can you do magnet beam + Shotguns?
Infinite upgrade shotgun spam + Magna beam = me playing the rip song. The lyrics consist only of the word rip

These videos have really become part of my daily routine. It's just so nice to watch while having brekky.
That self kill at the end, it's a perfect example of why portals can also be risky to use.

To anyone who would like a clutch play, build a couple or so of doors and when one is destroyed, build a cheap gun in it, fire it, and while it’s door is open fire the other guns, it also works best with many doors

Would like to see "full turtle being actually surrounded by portals so no tier3 flak can hit you, and everything just zoops away. Maybe one portal in the front that you could on/off to fire something out of, but for the most part just keep everything surrounded.
The player that got betrayed by his own gun and portal went trough three stages of different emotions really quick. First triumph, second disapointment, third complete disbelief and terror.
I just realized: You don't need to tier 3 anymore, you can just set up a portal that angles the shot up.

Sadly this is the only Incursus video showcasing the howitzer. It is such a cool weapon.
One of your better videos. Many good lessons to be learned from it. Like be careful how to balance your base when building beneath a floating island.
New DLC is both a game changer but also compliments existing vanilla well.

Imagine firing your cannon, having the shell pass through a portal and get sent back at you, NOT QUITE having the cannon that fired it door-snipe itself but the shell passes through a portal right beneath the door which leads to the back of your base, under your energy storage and right to your core.

My main problem with this is that your howitzers would all be reloaded by the time the portals reactivated. Perhaps, to provide maximum daka, you could have four smaller exhaust portals to fire out from. This would nearly double your surface area of vulnerability, but I've accounted for that. You fire all four in a sequence, then re-bind the portals (so that they're off during the reload). When they come back online, the howitzers will have just finished reloading and you can repeat.
It was just a shame to see four big guns, reduced to effectively two due to reloading/activation times.
Incursus! That was crazy! I know it might feel like you didn't do much but I think it's just your timings for the portal switch, this strategy seems super good! Except when it backfires of course :-D high risk high reward!
