Not just underrated. I would say its one of avril's best songs. It still has these dark feeling, but her voice is really changing. Sure, its not the first album hits. But its great. I want lana del ray to do a cover of this song.

I really adore Avril Lavigne and her first two iconic albums were the soundtrack of my teenage years and still important to me. After changing her style with her third and fourth album I liked her but wasn‘t a big fan like of „Let Go“ or „Under My Skin“. But with the release of „Avril Lavigne“ she totally catched me again, especially with „Give You What You Like“. To me it is by far one of her best and most underrated songs in her entire career! Such a pity, I mean it totally deserves more attention! ❤️

I like it a lot but I agree in the sense that it’s clear they are forcing themselves to do things they don’t want to do & at first I didn’t want to hear it cuz it made me sad, I tend to empathize with others even if I’ve not been in their shoes
