How do you transport your CDJ 3000 to your gigs? Do you have individual cases for them or do you have a coffin case? What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of using CDJs as a mobile DJ?

Hey Thanks for watching. I actually have 2 CDJ 3000 in a coffin and a pair of CDJ 3000's in individual cases. Many factors help me determine which I will take. Time, if I don't want to spend too much time setting up I will show up with the coffin since everything is already set up in there. Space, if I need the space in my vehicle because I might be taking other equipment then I will take the individual cases because they are easy to pack. Anytime that I feel I can use my CDJs at a mobile event I do it. I am most comfortable on them compared to my other equipment. Pro = I always want to be comfortable when I am DJ'ing. Con = Sometimes the events I am working are not worthy of having CDJs there because I might not be mixing.

@@Housemix10: Thanks for the reply Leo. Just curious what brand and how heavy is your coffin case with your CDJs and the mixer in them? I assume you wanna keep them as light as possible to make portability easy. Most of the commercially coffin cases I’ve found online are pretty heavy. Would you happen to know of anyone that builds custom coffin cases that are not as heavy to transport?

@@mixxterdj The coffin that I bought was an Odyssey Case, model FZ12CDJWXD. It wasn't advertized as able to hold the CDJ3000's. I took a gamble in hopes that it would. It fits them great. It is deep so there is plenty of room behind the units for the cables. It does weight 42lbs. Plus the gear you are looking at a weight of about 75+ lbs. But the Coffin has really good wheels on one side. So I just roll it around when I transport it. All my coffins have wheels for easy transport. I see that Odyssey now has a Coffin advertized for CDJ3000. Seems like the same one I got just rebranded #2. I don't know of any custom coffins. I try to pretty careful when I move my gear around but I would trust Odyssey to protect my gear so I don't worry about the weight too much.
