  • Today I'm going to share one more way to adjust the back crotch wedge. This method will help you if you feel tightness along the CB seam radiating to the inseam. Think of it as a "reverse scoop". If you missed last week's Fit Tip Tuesday where I showed more ways to adjust the crotch wedges, here's a link to that video: • Pants Fitting: How To...

Thank you for a very clear tutorial. I do have a question though, wouldn’t the crotch curve be much lower when doing this extension?

This is EXACTLY what I´m facing right now, I´m sewing clothes as a hobby so I have no idea what I do wrong, but I felt this tightness in that area when I was squatting or raising a leg. Walking and sitting was fine though. And I also used this very basic pattern that you did. I will tro do adjust it now.

:) If you don't need more room when you sit or walk, but it feels snug when you raise your leg and squat... it might also be that your front crotch curve is too low... Check this out before you start adjusting your pattern! czcams.com/video/MLcVycwlcvA/video.html

What if my problem is both, when I sit it's tight and when I stand and move it's tight also across the butt. How could I add more vertical length and create more room in the back for movement?

If your pants are tight when your sitting and sitting, you should let the side seams out to make room across your butt... if your back waistband slides down when you sit, you need more vertical length... You can extend the back crotch point if you also need room on the inseam. If you don't need room on the inseam, scoop the back of the crotch curve and let the side seams out to maintain the measurement... Hope this helps! Thanks for watching

I love all your videos. This is so informative. Would you be able to make a video on circular gusset for the crotch? Some of my son's pants had ripped crotch gusset which I added due to ill fitted pants. I was thinking maybe replace the wedge/diamond gussets with circular gusset like those on full seat jodhpurs would be better. Thanks in advance.

I can look into that! I don't have any experience with a circular gusset... but I have the sense that it will add more room so it won't rip! Stay tuned

Hello I am a beginner and I’ve been trying to figure out how I can make jeans that fit me perfectly low rise. I’ve tried searching all over for tutorials, and the few that I have came upon cut the seam in the center and sew it up. It seems like it works well for others, but for some reason I’m having trouble with my specific pair of jeans, it may be because they fit me very well but I also think it’s because the back is longer than the front, so I cannot line the seams up well. Please help I’ve been trying for days to figure this out & I’m afraid of ruining them

I have the opposite problem my pants are always too short in the front. So the center seam all the way around is always too tight in the front. I typically add to the waist to be able to drop it down some

... That's a little harder to fix in ready-to-wear... It would involve adding a gusset between the inseams through the crotch seams... Stay tuned, I'm adding this topic to my short list of upcoming tutorials!
