Awesome vid mate... Just ordered mine on sat... Picking it up next weekend, went into the dealership looking at the VFR800X and was asked to try this out. Totally blew my mind... Can't wait.
You are forgetting your lifesavers.. Don't get complacent.... Nice review, thank you , I enjoyed your videos.
hi grant, it seems that your videos are getting more and more professional, great job
+TROM 06 j , cheers buddy, is great fun always trying new things and making better vids 👍
loving your videos, subbed, hope to see more !
+GSX-R 125 Cheers Buddy, more on the way 👍🏍💨
By the way your vids are one of the best out there love watching them I had a Africa twin one of the best bikes I have rode I now have a Ducati 1200 r and I love it wish I could have kept both bikes
+Jon Laye , kind words Jon, cheers mate, I love making the vids, find it a great way of switching off from work! I’m hoping there’s a new Monster 1200R at the NEC show to check out, as I said in my vid I don’t know how anyone couldn’t like the Africa twin 😜
Nice video mate! About the filter on camera. If it's polarized then you need to turn it clockwise untill you find the spot where the display turns black 👍
Cheers buddy, can get the filter adjusted to mask the speedo and is great until the sun fully shines on the display and then it doesn’t work, I’m not too bothered on the AT, it was meant more for when I used to gun it on the 959 😜
I like your bike buddy. This little ride though with all the tight spaces and traffic gave me a touch claustrophobia and the helmet mounted cam movements cued up some nausea but hey, I didn't barf so its all good.
Great ride out mate
Hi, nice vid I have the DCT in black.......I think you made a mistake saying your getting 270 miles to a tank !!!I’ve done 12,000 miles on mine and just returned from Spain and Portugal the most you’ll get is around 200 ish to a tank.......just saying 👍🏼👍🏼
+Paul Graham , hi mate, not sure where I got 270niles from, like you said around 200 👍
Adventure have a bigger tank
Hi Grant, think Honda are bringing out a Dakar type adventure model for next year. Should be at NEC and Eicma.
Nice little vid again mate. Motor don’t look too bad.
+Mike Stewart , cheers buddy, yes looking forward to NEC, think we are going on the Monday, looking forward to finding my potential new bike 😜👍
Hello mate, great video thanks. Been thinking about one of these for a while, are you not put off by the tubed tires?
Hi mate, sold bike years ago, never really worried about the tubed tyres
Thanks for your good vid, much appreciated.. Who's the guy you spoke about who swapped from a GSXR to africa twin? Cheers.
+john Hamilton , Hi John, cheers for watching, the Guy I mentioned is my buddy Rat, although I think he’s keeping the Gixer now as best of both worlds 👍
Thanks for uploading Grant.
How about a review of your 140i M Sport. My mate has the 240i M Sport; fabulous car.
+bts jimin got a review coming up of my Bros C43 AMG, may do one of my M135 at some point 👍
Thanks for sharing mate. Currently on a Versus 1000 but probably changing it for an Africa Twin. Trying to decide whether to get a manual or whether getting an automatic is worth the extra money.
+Derbyshire Wedding Events, Hi mate, I like the manual and my mate likes his auto, I found when I tried his auto that I just didn’t have the throttle control of my manual, I guess until you ride both you will not know which u prefer! Clutch is very light on the manual too so no real effort to change gear! You will lie the AT which ever you choose! Happy test riding 👍🏍💨
Thanks matey, yes technically I agree with u. I like being in control of my clutch & throttle to, especially when touring, something I do quite a lot of, especially across the channel.
Thanks again mate, great channel, ride safe!
Derbyshire Wedding Events - you must try the auto though. I was a total sceptic and ended up buying one!
Do u still have the throttle and gearbox control especially on the sharp bends? Planning a tour through the B500 in Germany so I guess I'd need the clutch control, from my experience of a few previous trips.
+Derbyshire Wedding Events , Auto is amazingly clever, but u do loose that last part of fine control a clutch provides 👍
Love it I'm buying one
Great John, I’m doing a year review of my AT soon on whether to buy one or not and my thoughts, apart from the corroded spokes which are being replaced by Honda at some point I can safely say the bike has been amazing and still looks like new after the winter! Cheers, GMAN 👍
Love the candy Red.
Cheers John, it’s a great colour!
Great review. Pick mine up tomorrow. I think your close to where I live if not in same village so if you see a red one give me a wave, or a DM
Greetings! Nice video! How was the wind protection with the touratech wind shield? Is it adequate at high speed? I'm 1.87 and i'm wondering if it is ok........
Hi mate, the small touretech screen suits me fine, can feel some wind around the helmet but the main reason I fitted it was to stop wind buffeting which it has completely stopped, I’m 5’7 tall, the standard Honda screen was so bad and made my helmet vibrate terribly, guess its different for every person that’s a different height, cheers, GMAN 🍺
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits thanks for the detailed answer......ride safe!! Cheers!!
Just catching up on your videos lol. Listen if when you lads do Spain and have to head down to Portsmouth feel free to drop in at mine and my gals place. I have a garage if you wanna lock up bikes etc or even just chill for cuppa. Thanks for info on Honda by the way I am getting quotes through tomorrow and you never know I may be back on two wheels sooner than I thought!
+J Dude , cheers mate, glad to be of help, will def look you up next time we are in Portsmouth area, we tried to book the ferry for next June and it’s already booked for the dates we want to go to Spain, so we are loading the bikes into Vans again and driving there, oh well will still be a superb trip as ever 👍
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits well well looks like I’m back on two wheels after a lonnnnnng 11 months or so ..... they delivered bike on Friday and I finally had a chance to take her out for a role this afternoon. Lovely big. I have never owned a bike from new so having to take it easy for first 300 I believe. But engine smooth as anything and torque enough to pull away from anything. Just curious G man. These torque settings do any add more power ? Or is it just traction control? I rode my bike today with three bars on the traction. Anything else I can adjust? Otherwise am very happy with bike. I told your local dealer it was also because of your videos that I chose this bike. So hopefully they’ll give you at least a free cuppa tea when next time you visit lol
+J Dude , Hey Buddy, so chuffed you have your new bike! I know you will get to love it, not sure if you have the new 2018 model or not, my bike just has the 3 adjustments for traction control and that’s it! I have full power all the time! Great to take it easy for a while till you get used to it, just mind out in damp greasy conditions as the tyres give way very quickly, also fingers crossed Cheers for mentioning me to your dealer! Enjoy, G-Man 👍
Hey! Just bought the black one with DCT. Does the wind deflector thing work well? Did a bit of Googling and it came up with that as a solution. Any good?
Hi Nick, I’m not sure if the wind deflector makes a huge difference but worth a go I guess, key to stopping the wind turbulence is getting the correct size screen to suit your height, enjoy your new bike, cheers, GMAN 🍺
It wasn't the horn you was about to hit. The horn is on the left side where the indicators should have been lol. Is the horn on the right side on the 959?
Nice video fantastic bike, i should know, i have one too.
Ride safe.
+Blackrainbow , don’t know what I was doing, just though crap he’s going to hit me! 😳😜
Hi mate what’s your thoughts on the new Africa twin I am looking at maybe getting one or the triumph 800xrt
Hi Darcy, do you mean the latest updated 2018 Africa Twin? I don’t know much about the latest one but still love my 2017 Africa Twin and use it most days what ever the weather and it’s never missed a beat 👍
How tall are you please
5’7
@@GMANS_BIKES_CARS apologies just watched video!!!! Very tempted had a nc750 previous.....tried a africa twin a few years ago found front suspension very very spongy
Yes mate, I agree it dives heavily under hard braking, although I got used to it after a while 👍🏻
Nice review of a pretty nice bike. Just one thing, how can anyone ride without earplugs!? I can`t go 10 yards without them in!
Each too there own of course but I just can`t.
+mac46rr , I agree buddy, as I knew I was only going through town I didn’t bother with them, my helmet is very quiet at low speeds too, I normally wouldn’t ever ride without them 👍
Yeah. Just meant I couldn't even go that far😆.
Would you reckon this bike to be used on a daily basis. Approx 80 miles a day?.
Yes buddy, you could ride this all day and have no problems! Cheers, GMAN 🍺
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits thanks buddy, im in love with bike, a lot of feedback i receive saying not to use the bike for daily usage..
Also I use it everyday for commuting in all kinds of weather and not sure why anyone wouldn’t 😬
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits i appreciate your feedback.. thanks buddy
Hi mate your garage floor what’s on it. Please. Thanks Jon.
+Jon Laye , hi jon, I’ll source the link and let u know 👍
+Jon Laye , hi Jon, here’s the link to what flooring I use in the garage! Hope this helps!
Industrial Dark Grey Garage Gym Shop Flooring 64 sqft (21110) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00778PCQA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ANG5zb10XHZ42
What screen did your mate get. I can't get mine sorted tried puig sport screen and Honda Oem and the touring. The noise is unbearable I'm 6-1.
+Tim Gilbert , hi mate, I’ll ask him
And get back to you 👍
+Tim Gilbert , hi Tim, my mate just told me that he fitted a Batzan riser to the screen but he says it’s still not brilliant, maybe no screen is the way to go 😳🤣
Ok thanks. I have the swegotech on order I hope that works. Great vids keep up the good work
+Tim Gilbert , cheers Tim 👍
Ps. What’s you mileage on bike now mate?
+J Dude , don’t know what miles I’ve done, will look when I ride to work in the morning, guessing around 2k miles or more, 👍
Live down under. Seen so many reviews from the UK where the only dirt they ride on is a car park behind the pub. Why buy this bike?
I don’t take my bike off road much but still love it for commuting and longer ride outs, am buying a CRF250L for off roading 😜
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits It says a lot for the bike that people buy it to commute or tour or go off road. What are your thoughts on the DCT?
I have ridden the DCT but I still prefer having the controllability of a clutch and don’t get me wrong the dct is an amazing system .And very smooth but think I’m a bit old school 😜
So no one else noticed the girl jogging in pink at 6:52 on the right? Lol
+J Dude Well spotted on the girl front, I’ve stopped mentioning girls I see on route, as someone called me a dirty old man in a past video, 😳🤣🤣👍
I did too !
Pps lol. Did you fit Remus exhaust yourself? How much etc?
+J Dude , got the pipe fitted by the guys at Kestrel Honda when new and got a great deal on the pipe as was under £300 if I remember correctly, you can pay silly money for a termi or Akra but the Remus does the job perfectly 👍🏍💨
How are your spokes holding up
+Rodney Mc caughey , they are perfect at the moment Rodney, let’s see how they fair through the winter 😜
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits I replaced mine with stainless as Honda would only replace with the same crap galvanised ones again
Honda did mine with some new type of alloy...so they said. 10k ago and no issues yet.
I've had my Twin about 6 months, (you might have seen me about) Love it! Got a manual because i didn't enjoy the DCT on demo. Loads of grunt through the whole rev range so you can be lazy with gear changes and works really well for back lanes. The exhaust tone is great and helps drivers hear you filtering if you rev high. I bought black so was concerned about visibility but no issues with smidsy's - daytime running lights in orange must help. I did a 3 day trip to Wales and found it a great all rounder for all road types, but most enjoyed single track unclassified roads and gravel tracks. Bit worried about dropping it or turning around off road so have stayed away from rutted byways and worse. I also commute, got used to the height quite quickly, I'm 5'11". Perfect bike to compliment a mountain bike :-)
+Philip Shore , hi Philip, great you love you bike, as I said it’s pretty spot on and cannot really fault it!
100 litres of storage and staying in hotels? that's a lot of gear to lug around
Hi mate, I didn’t get those soft panniers in the end, the 60ltr held roll top bag has been all I’ve needed in the past as we stay in hotels so don’t need camping gear 😜
muppet. do you ever take it offroad?
+Daniel Andrews , Hi mate, only some mild green laning as you will see in this video at 4.09mins, regards, Kermit 😜
czcams.com/video/FQ9NhGCfzc4/video.html
Cheers, thanks
What date you going to Spain? Checkout the website
www.motorbiketourer.com
We off on the 17th june
+Motorbike Tourer , hi mate, need to agree with the lads on a date but I’m guessing first week of June 👍
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits think we’re heading down to the doura valley in Portugal roads round there are epic
+Motorbike Tourer , sounds good mate, Ive still unfinished business with the Pyrenees and it can get a bit damp in the Picos 😬
No dirt on Africa twin? Go off-road m8
Have been off road in one of my other vids. Bike got caked in mud 😜
Get on the point ffs
