I would like to see a Survival Rifle from Glock. Glock could promote the rifle as a Wilderness or Urban survival carbine.
That would actually be cool; especially considering that not all survival rifle models and makes are all that good. Among the better IMO is the Ruger Takedown 10/22. Glock could use something like that as its baseline. Or, take another kind that just straight up sucks and make it awesome (assuming they can conquer the legal and patent stuff).
Never thought about it from a marketing standpoint they have missed out on a lot even though they make an extremely well built reliable pistol. But all the braces that have been made for them and and by how many other people's guns use glock mags that makes total sense they have missed out on a lot

So like Apple, I would reckon that Glock has a skunkworks dept. For a what if? scenario. Back in the lat 90's when Apple brought out OSX, they had a team running it on IBM powered PCs. because they knew that where they were going the Motorola processors might not be able to deliver what they were looking for, in a timeline they needed. So why not work on getting a 32/64 bit processor that there's a faster development to market timeline and see if it runs. Eventuallly they did start doing that, and it made them a lot better. Then they started making their own processor and are going that route. So yeah, it would behoove Glock as well as any other arms manufacturer to see what they could do, for all the reasons you stated. There's so much that happens outside this country in the way of supply and contracts and what not that we don't notice. Mainly because we have a ton going on here. I'm hoping to see some new innovative stuff come out from CZ since they bought Colt. I think we live in an exciting time for arms. So many modern technologies being developed and manufacturing improvements. Look at Wilson Combat and their expansion. It would be kinda cool to see an AR9 come out from Glock.

@@p00lboy Yes, I believe I knew that. What I was referring to was the Glock gun producing division. I don't quite recal what they did make, but I'm sure it was some polymer/plastic related item. It's kinda neat that they did decide to go into guns production.

I see you point on the P.C.C thing Eric..... but I think the thing they should do is a modernized "AR-18" variant like the Bren, Scar, Sig type weapons. Some type of simple piston adjustable system with C.H.F light/Med. contour barrel in 10.5, 14.5, 16" lengths. Something modular and suppressor friendly under 2250$ M.S.R.P and something that only Glock would do--simple and so rugged but reasonable in the weight department. It could be super bad ass with lots of polymer because they have mastered polymer in my opinion. Give us an F.A.L type adjustment, C.H.F barrel, polymer lower/reinforced steel lugs, piston rifle/carbine that is better than anything so far......I think they could do it. All the strengths of the Scar with none of the weakness and a 5 position gas setting with beefy knobs that won't break like my Sig 716 did. The HK 416 is the king---and they could do there own "Austrian" flavor with gas settings and C.H.F barrel and put it to shame.....I do like the guns that stick with the AR buffer----but I can live without it for folding capability I guess....god what a gun they could build with the right mindset. They have the ability, if they had the drive. I wonder what a "NON-Bullpup" AUG type system would look like when Glock's engineers were done with it?

I know someone who is working as the technologist (aka the guy who runs the machines) to make this.
Sometimes government RFPs or solicitations will require that the submitter "also provide" or "be capable of offering or providing" and can sometimes even require a company to have a history of providing 'a thing', whatever it may be. The point is that this rifle could be a way for Glock to provide a total solution to its government customers, Law Enforcement Agencies, etc.

Glock has yet to make their own Tritium sights. You'd think they would do that in a Glock format. Have the US branch make them if Tritium is regulated.
Glock is pretty late in the game for the ar15 in my opinion. There are so many firearms out there that aren't glocks but take there mags, so if glock had jumped early to make some decently priced PCCs or ARs, they would have done really well. Your right there Eric, if they were to make something new, they should make a good priced and well built PCC.

If Glock were to make this carbine as a short stroke piston gun I'd be sold. As for mags for the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1. The CZ mags suck as the plastic feed lips break often. The 35 rounders from MagPul work flawlessly and at MidwayUSA were only $18. Back to the Glock Carbine. I saw nothing that set it apart from the other 300 AR manufacturers making these wonderful tools. Other ARs are certainly better and I'll standby until testing has been completed. Yes on a Glock PCC both in pistol and carbine versions. Thanks for the great knowledge brother. Stay safe and dangerous.
