When you use the economy of a broke country to break the economy of a game.
TF2 will never cease to amaze me.

No, they're using globalism to destroy tf2's economy, a-la Rothschild.
And they say TF2 players aren't evil
it happened a billion times on steam atp
even csgo capsules got the same fate

As an argentinian, the trick is gone, everything is now paid in dollars, and the prices are way too high
Eventually the Argentinian Peso will ve phased out completely from the economy and monetary policy will be managed by a foreign country to reduce costs.
@@diegotrejos5780 Yes, because that worked out great for the EU when they got Greece involved...
@@constipatedwonka8061 Well dollarization historically worked well for El Salvador.
Argentina tried to peg the peso to the dollar in the 90s with great success even leading to deflation, but unfortunately the incompetent government continued spending money it did not have and had to drop the peg in order to pay their debt. The problem is that the central bank was free to print as much as it wanted and hyper-inflated the currency. In order to stop future inflation Argentina plans to drop the central bank all together alongside their hyperinflation. The entire plan is based on sound macroeconomic principles and forcing the government to use the dollar forces them to be more frugal with their spending reducing debt and bureaucratic bloat. El Salvador was able to solve many economic issues with the dollarization and every year since El Salvadorians have voted to maintain it. Dollarization has become so popular in El Salvador that criticizing dollarization is considered political suicide; the dollar is more popular then the candidates.
Argentinians suffering to a degree i cannot hope to understand
As an argentinian, i can only say that we don't have many "it is what it is" more left on us.
We have a "once in a lifetime crisis" every year
Fun fact: recently in argentina that thing got patched, making Steam now use USD

step 6: ruin gaming for an entire country as valve removes regional pricing
A little off topic*
I’m not the only one who constantly forgets that in the USA they write not day/month/year, but month/day/year, so for some time I don’t understand where the 14th month came from (in this case)?
im just too lazy to process it so my brain just notes it as just some random date and then ignores it

@@noah-xt9tx yes, and it SUCKS

SO THIS IS WHY WE WERE FORCED TO CHANGE INTO DOLLARS IN STEAM ON ARGENTINA
as a turkish, isn't that both Turkish Lira and Argentinian Pesos got converted to dollars in November 20?
Yes, sadly.
Those bastards, now we can't afford shit
yeah. now a cant buy shit.
The Turkish Lira is sooo weak now
Last time I checked £1=31TL 😭
i remember cwitchy using lira on one of his community posts and my dumbass tought he was turkish
They just learned about the Exchange Market.
small context of the things over in argentina's steam.
155% tax rate on digital items on external currencies that only applies to argentina.
so raw prices are lower here, but we still pay full price (and sometimes more) for those taxes.
for a good time steam didn't update the argentinian peso, so a game like terraria, that costs 10 us dollars, here would cost 200-300 pesos (less than 1 dollar), that got abused, steam updated prices so argentinians paid the actual price, still got abused, and now steam removed the arg peso from their shop, resulting on more taxes, but the raw price its still lower than the us.
its it a good thing? no, rn we pay more than the actual price bc of taxes, and we dont have the average us salary to pay for it, so we pay more, when we have less, and the devs and steam get less because they reduced the raw prices so we dont have to pay 150 dollars for a 60 dollar game and taxes go to the goverment.
basically, no more legit ways of getting games besides free ones.
Putting this here so a little Timmy can’t say “first”
Well, you tried

As an argentinian this is 100% Friends from another countrys prefer to buy games here cuz of the low prices. (Not anymore Because steam now only accepts dollars)
Thx for stuff like this Steam doesn't accept our coin anymore oof
Well... Argentine just got moved to US dollars anyways.
That's a catastrophe for them
@@NinoJoel Indeed. Prices went up anywhere from three to twenty times, plus they have a monthly allowance of dollars to spend on online purchases. Which means even a single AAA game is now literally unaffordable for most Argentinians.

Recession moment
this is what we would call: trolling the economy
Damn, that's what I call profit 😂
It’s nice hearing that valve makes keys cheaper in countries where buying tf2 keys is probably less likely is cool, but damn that unfortunate :(
Rather than making them cheaper, the inflation is so high that the prices can't catch up so it ends being cheaper than in other countries
I was about to sell the first key i got in TF2 when this shit happened
As a TF2 player, I can relate.
What in the actual f- this mf really found an infite monry glitch

As an argentinian, now in Steam we have everything at 200% more than the original price + taxes.
But hey, props to yall for being smart enough to take advantage of that, and also making our currency slightly more valuable, even if it's for tf2 keys.

Argentinian here, for stuff like this steam no longer takes our coin, so thx you all (also because communist policies but thats our fault)
The uncontrolled free market combined with the greed of the capitalists is the problem
@@NinoJoelyeah, because nothis screams free market like having the heviest fiscal pressure in the whole planet, or having state checked controls on almost every economic indicator.
The greedy capitalist use their secret money printers to back gouverment deficit, but the central bank was framed, the poor little thing.
The evil capitalist running left wing gouverments that blame capitalism for the problems of the country.
Yeah, the greedy capitalists, surely not the political elite.
actually it's the IMF's fault. They exist to keep our U.S. financial sector in a place of absolute dominance despite even stupider political decisions than any of the south-global vassal countries usually make
I think perhaps the policies of Milei and his magic dogs are not helping with that.
Wait, what? I'm Argentinian and our currency got removed from Steam in November and replaced by USD (it also affected Turkey), how the heck was this exploit possible during December? Did Valve forget to apply the change to TF2?
there goes the converted prices.
yeah now we can't buy games for affordable prices
