Devils fan here. Always loved watching Patrick Marleau play and always had a respect for the Sharks organization. I'm sad he never got to win a Cup either in San Jose or elsewhere, but he deserved this night and the love the Sharks fans have given him over the years. Congrats Patty!

While it's depressing and sad Marleau never won a Stanley Cup, on the other hand he made a legacy well worthy of a jersey retirement on the first season after that particular player who wore that jersey retired from the NHL.
