I’m finally doing it guys!! I mustered up the strength and courage to finally tackle the dreaded closet I have been talking about. It’s full of clothes that my oldest have outgrown but will be passed down to our youngest. It took a few days to completely redo, organize and Declutter it; but it’s finally done 😅.

Slowly slowly but sure , im clean little space area , but not all in day because sometimes tired and not mood . Maybe 1 space 2 or 3 day or maybe one month 😅.
Amazing job, Sonya! I saw a cute cartoon today: a little boy asks his grandmother how old she is and she replies coyly, 'Oh, I don't really know.' So he tells her, 'Look at the label on the back of your underwear. Like, mine says 3-4 years!' LOL

Aviva is so cute! Congratulations on completing such a big task. I am a widow whose son and granddaughter are grown. But even just for myself things seem to multiply on their own. Have a blessed week.
Oh, now that my children are grown, I have begun the process of decluttering and donating. It’s fun going through everything but it feels so good to donate all that excess to those in need. I donate to a veterans organization that helps veterans and their families

Oh Sonya... YOU DID IT, girl!!! You are such an inspiration. (For future, you might try blue painter's tape to label bins. It sticks well, but comes off easily) Now rest in that accomplishment and recharge your 'batteries' as well as you can. Thanks so much for this video, Sonya. I have to declutter the closets, too, this will help me a lot. Other chores I keep putting off: deep cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the kids rooms, decluttering old toys and organising my own bedroom 😅

Now a crazy story about a cedar closet. A family in my community was having a new home built by a contractor friend of mine. One of the special features the owners wanted was a large cedar closet, which of course is an expensive one. The contractor was at the house expecting the final job before turning over the keys, when he discovered that the workers had put a coat of polyurethane over all the cedar in the cedar closet, unwittingly making it useless for the intended purpose of protecting against moths.

@@SonyasPrep I had coffee with the contractor the day after that happened. He was so upset, yet anxious to get busy on the re-do. I asked him if the cedar planks would still work by being "turned around" with the unvarnished side facing outward. He thought about that for a minute, then said he didn't want any doubt hanging over him. So all new cedar.
Great job i finally re did one of the boys bedrooms i had put it off for a long time but yeah its done and hes as proud as i am of it

Wow, that was a big job! Nicely organized and what a money saver. 😄 We did this same thing when our kids were little. Now we're at the downsizing stage, so to Goodwill our items will go. 😉

Hi Sonya great vlog as always hope you and your family are well. I've just a tip when I'm sorting out my closet/cupboard before I put things in storage bins I put them in vacuum bags and shrink them you can get a lot more in tubs that way its so much easier and tidier!

OMG props to you Sonya. We just packed up our home to downsize and know how painful it can be. Try acetone -nail polish to remove marker - more soluble. Loved seeing Aviva help with baby and seeing her fold with her mom’s skills in the making . Beautiful job❤

Congratulations! What a great job! I only had one child, so his stuff came in and went out. We just had our grandchildren for the weekend, and I am reorganizing their drawer in my dresser. I keep things for them here in case they forget to pack something. Not much anymore as they are a bit older now, but when we did their childcare I had a drawer for each of them, hanging space, and shelf space for the diapers, etc. I still have lots of things for them, craft supplies, board games, etc. They now have shelf space in a cabinet in the living room. It’s so much better when you are organized, and with 6 kids, you need to be on top of your game!

Such a good feeling when you can see the result of a day of organizing! I don’t know if others have this problem, but I find that when I store kids clothes in bins like you do, they start smelling like the plastic bin after a while. Maybe the solution is packing them in bags and then in the bin like I saw you do with some of the items?
Thanks for sharing how to declutter. I am working on this project also. I’m cleaning up after my mother my grandmother and my great grandmother. They leave a story. I am boxing up in small see thru plastic boxes that are light. I am a senior citizen and I need to be able to lift. Also donating. It takes time and effort to organize. I really appreciate your declutter video.

Such a good feeling of accomplishment and organization!! I also used the plastic drawers to put away clothes and things. My kids used to get so excited to see their old clothes and decide which sibling would get their things , or a friend if it needed to be donated , and then trying on whatever was there was a fashion show ! you can have popcorn and hold up smiley , sad or laughing “ face cards “ to vote on some “styles”. Such fun and great memories !!!

I would get another large bin for the costumes and then you can fit the hats and also move some of the costumes over so it isnt bursting.
Welcome to two nightmare closets that I never open It's time You have inspired me. Ugh. Funny that you call TARGET your happy place because it is my daughter's happy place too! @@SonyasPrep no it is not it's like if one thing is out of place the whole house looks like a disaster can I have two major health issues sometimes things are hard to keep up with I also put in a garden I'm trying to keep up with that and I am now past 60
It might help to use some broad sellatape or such for labeling. I find it to be a bit easier

To get perm marker marks off try rubbing a dry erase marker over the mark than wipe it off with a dry cloth.
Wow what a job! Its the one i dread and hate! Ive got all boys so.its a constant hand me down an check the boxes, i could do with a declutter but then i always feel like maybe ill need for one of them!
That was a huge project. We just finished organizing our grands playroom. It was a disaster! For months we just kept the door shut and didn’t go in. They would just bring out what they wanted to play with to the living room. But now they can play in their playroom and everything has a place-lots of bins full of their toys. I really thought that we would get rid of more than we did, but it is ok. Now on to going through their clothes (we have clothes here for them for spontaneous overnights, need to go somewhere on the spur of the moment and need an appropriate outfit, or if accidents happen. Anything that is outgrown will either go to a consignment sale or donated to our church’s clothing closet for community families in need. I have been putting this job off for 2 weeks, but the upcoming sale has made it necessary to get myself in gear.

You could write a list of what you have got so that when you go shopping for your kids you will know how many t-shirts, skirts, tops etc you still need in that size!

Great job. I found using masking tape or scotch tape and labeling with a sharpie to be easier. It can be just ripped off bin if the bins need to be used later on for something else . 😊

A hack I use for removing permanent marker is going over it with a whiteboard marker, and it should come off. It works on whiteboards for me, anyway!

I don't give away clothes or shoes.I cut up with a scissors. Especially underwear and socks. Throw away in the trash.
Also as the Lord tells me I get rid of anything with painful memories. Keeps a person stuck in the past

This is related to another video, but I heard brewers yeast is good for milk production. I nursed all 3 of my boys. When my milk was low I just let them nurse and nurse on my days off. I was a nurse too.
I wish he would still nurse but I am pumping full time now.

I made schedule that 2 a year summer and winter I check and organise all clothes.
Our hallway closet is like that as well. I have 2 boys and the closet is filled with all their old baby stuff. I’ve had 2 miscarriages since my youngest - he’s almost 3. So I’m thinking I’m going to have to go through that closet before we move next summer. I’m not sure I’ll be needing that stuff anymore.

Sonya, Do you ever put any lemons in your compote? My last few batches have all had a pint of raspberries included and I was able to cut the sugar to 1/3 cup. This was in my large stock pot which made 1 gallon of compote. I was impressed with myself lol
