This was so well done that like me in the beginning card trick most people saw the 7 of diamond we he flicked through the cards, the split second hesitation made you see it so naturally it was the one on the building.

I'm so glad someone reacted to this. Such an underrated gem. Does it always make sense? No, but its so fun and entertaining that we don't care!
The second one is also pretty fun too. And they add Daniel Radcliffe to the cast and they expand on the story from this one.
u should also watch prestige, if u haven't. Wolverine and Batman fighting each other with magic tricks. What could be more cool than that! =P

This is a movie that a person needs to watch TWICE. During my first watch in the theater, I did pick up on Woody Harrelson doing a quick hypnotism of the French guy on stage. But so many other things I totally missed. Watching it the second time, I saw all those things I missed, and how easily a person’s attention can be distracted from what’s really going on.

I love this movie! It's on the top of my all-time favorite 'feel good' movies. And I've watched it so many times that I pretty much have the whole thing memorized. LOL! And it's got a great cast.
You are correct. There's only two movies. A third one was planned, but hasn't been made.
And I do very highly recommend watching the sequel.

Trivia tidbit: Edward Woodward the actor playing the uber-rich guy, said that he agreed to do the movie because he genuinely wanted to SEE the movie! He thought it was that good of a story.
My personal opinion is that this movie is a totally underrated masterpiece.
The 2nd one is not very good. Particularly because they got a new actress to replace the first one, and there is no chemistry at all between her and the cast. If you are really curious, go ahead and watch #2, but it is not very good on any level. Thank you for a great responce, my first time here. I liked and subed! ❤😊❤😊🎉

I needed a wrinkly haired girl fix. Thanks for being here. Love these, and I shouldn't, criminals who sometimes get away kind of stories. Not so much in real life, though. It's probably the attraction we've always had to the Robin Hood types. Real and fictionalized. The Dick Turpin, Jesse James, wild west and depression era guys. All really not nice people but we love them as if they were. Hmmm. There must ba be a point. Well, maybe not. Luv ya. Keep posting.

It’s a bit jarring that Isla Fisher could have drowned for real in that water-tank trick near the beginning. The chain attached to her got stuck so the shots of her banging on the sides of the tank were of Isla genuinely panicking.
The second movie has Daniel Radcliffe and is even better than the first

One step ahead? More like four steps ahead. Eh?
This movie was a pretty fun ride, but as a magician, it definitely made me cringe at the way magicians are portrayed. They are so cocky and arrogant. This is NOT the way to treat your audience members. We don't talk down to our audience members or make fun of them. We don't act all arrogant and cocky like these people do. Nobody likes that kind of stuff in real life. That being said, this movie did have a pretty great twist at the end with the Mark Ruffalo revelation. I just wish the illusions were more true to life and not just a bunch of digital effects with outrageous, unrealistic plots (in some cases). I do appreciate the reaction, though!
I thought that the sequel was good. Not great, and nowhere near as good as the first, but good enough. There's a certain amount of retcon that felt clumsy to me, but to the extent that you're able to just kick back and enjoy being fooled by all the illusions - and I mostly could - I thought it worked to exactly that extent.
Dont worry bout the 2nd movie. Its not good.
