Dishonored 2 Gameplay: 2 Ways to Play the Clockwork Mansion (Corvo and Emily Gameplay)

- In this Dishonored 2 gameplay Mike and Andy tackle the shifting walls of the Clockwork Mansion. Who will fare better, Andy as stealthy Emily or Mike as combat Corvo? Take a watch to find out and subscribe for more Dishonored 2 on Outside Xbox: tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox
The clockwork mansion itself is guarded both by guards and by Jindosh’s eerie clockwork soldiers, sword-armed automatons with eyes literally in the back of their heads, which makes the stealth route trickier than it is with regular humans.
Of course, this is no obstacle to Mike, who uses Corvo’s classic power set to bend time, blink in close, and wreck them up with his sword.
Emily’s powers are somewhat more stealth-oriented, but the most useful of them all is Domino, which lets her link enemies together so that they all share the same fate. This will save the thrifty stealther a fortune in sleep darts.
Stay to the end to witness how each of us deals with Jindosh: Mike with a lethal canister of whale oil to the face, Andy with the non-lethal option of electrocuting him in the brain until he can’t remember who he is anymore. Much more humane.
Dishonored 2 comes out on 11 November 2016 on Xbox One, PC and PS4. Are you ready for more Dishonored? Let us know in the comments.

"Coddled upbringing"?! Mother murdered in front of her eyes, father accused, kidnapped and stowed in a brothel, caught up in insane political intrigue, father is a supernatural assassin ... I mean honestly, she's not your typical rich kid.
Yeah if he thinks that's being coddled, I don't wanna know what he's seen.
It's irony I think
@@whoayuice6634 or condescension
"See, this is the problem with an incredibly elaborate clockwork mansion, Jindosh. It's basically a series of secret passages and elevators i can use to get around the place. You should live in a corridor and sit at one end of it, with a gun." love it! Nice one, Andy
For a little history, look up "YOU ARE IN A MAZE OF TWISTY LITTLE PASSAGES, ALL ALIKE."
Caps not needed, but are historically accurate.
"Before you stands an invention that will endure beyond my time"

Mike took such great care to carry that whale oil only to find that some had been provided for him. It seems like someone in this world finally understands Mike.
....other than Rockstar. :)
"are you vaping out of your thumb? maybe i will kill you..." LMAO
SPIKES SPIKES SPIKES SPIKES SPIKES
eh.
You're fit to learn the proper meaning of a beat down
kids playing balls
Diego Cabral madness chaos in the brain...
"Yes I need to eliminate... These snacks!"
Priorities, Mike. You got it right, mate.
Mike's kill was so gratifying for some reason
IKR blowing your target up after carrying explosive barrel through the whole mansion, throwing him several meters down and using folded floor to drop him into the river right before the waterfall (just to be sure i guess?)... it wasn't a simple assasination, it was art.
Mike's dedication to preserving the whale oil really shows that he has the capability for delicate stealthy gameplay, but only if he gets to blow something up at the end.
To be fair, guys, it's a little hard to step on pressure plates when they're covered by pallets, you don't have a sword, and you're also 80 years old and beaten to hell.
More like, how would he beat the clockwork soldiers to get out anyway xD
@@zefyrisd69 That's actually what the note to Sokolov says, the one right next to him. It's basically : "haha, how does it feel that you could get out but if you did you'd be stomped by my clockwork soldier ?"
Zefyris D not to mention the 70 guards, walls of light, and arc pylon
loving crovo's and emily's VO's - really adds to the game (helps that corvo is voiced by the guy who did the original Thief's Garrett)
Eh, I know it's probably because it's one of the first areas, but I'd prefer if they told me what to do less. I'd prefer to figure things out for myself.
PlatypusAfro the vo's aren't telling you what to do (the main character VOs that is) - they just give a bit of flavor and context. Tbh, its the most significant change I have seen thus far.
Pleased to see the voices, though Corvo's will take some getting used to. When I saw his wanted posters in game 1 I thought he looked kinda like Aragorn from Lord of the Rings and I've been picturing him voiced by Viggo Mortensen ever since.
They both have mediocre voice actor's to match the mediocre characters, daud was the best, probably because he had a professional actor voicing him and he's a great character (love him or hate him, he's very interesting)
Mediocre voice actors?! Fuck off...
"you can only stealth for so long before you have to shoot a door off its hinges" that is a quote that cant be more true
I think we should cut Sokolov some slack. Even if he did try to escape it's not like he'd get very far, he spends most of his time being unconscious.
Nathanial Torres a thing to note is that the pressure pads in the cell are covered by wooden floorboards. Breakable with a sword yes but an old man with no weapon? Of course Sokolov couldn't escape.
Nathanial Torres and you know it's not like there is a giant killer robot in the other side of the door and sokolov isn't fast or trained like corvo and Emily
@@jonathankreitler5045 lmao
I love how both of you say "wtf Sokolow You had a pressure plate to escape" but none realized that if Sokolow would have used it, he'd be killed by the Clockwork Soldier.
FEGELEIN FEGELEIN FEGELEIN!!!!!!!
So more of Andy being a silent non-assassin and the Adventures of Mike and Jim the Whale-oil Canister
favorite thing to do in dishonered is to put people in awkward places for tthem to wake up in ie: in the rafters, on a roof. Just imagine the look on their face when they wake up.
*piles five guards in a dumpster and shuts the lid* That'll be awkward. Have fun waking up!
Dragonic Dude You are my hero
I like to lie guards on other guards in really gay (no offense intended) positions when they're unconsious and put whiskey bottles next too them or put them in dumpters and fill the rest of it with dead bodies.
Hey now You're a memestar same
Dragonic Dude chandeliers are where I always put them because 1) its a really good hinding place and 2) when they wake up they will probably fall off
So we have Andy, who sneakily ghosts through everything like a professional assassin, and Mike, who blows everything up without a second thought.
However, there are rumors that the the third, the true balance, one who is not seen yet kills without remorse, lurks somewhere in the world, waiting and biding her time before the right opportunity to strike...
...Or she could just be at a games-con eating some snacks. Either one.
"I don't fancy this lift, so I'm gonna try this leever and see what happens." I love British people.
"I'll do the Jurassic Park stick test!"
(Throws body in between sparking electrical lines whereupon it's immediately destroyed)
"Yup, definitely on!"
lol
Am I the only one thinking about "Does this unit have a soul?"
haha, ow my heart
My thoughts jumped to Wall-E and EVE, but same principle. ;_;
Jonas Sällström MASS EFFECT RULES
"Ah, the Royal Protector reveals his favorite tactic; blowing everything to bits. Subtle."
No, game, I believe you're mistaken. That's MIKE'S favorite tactic.
Imbued with the powers of justice, bookshelves, and sleep darts, mild-mannered Andy Farrant becomes... The JudgeBrarian!
I really want to play as emily for the new power set...
But i really want to continue corvo for old times sake and for the dialogue!!
Anyone else having this problem?
thats why im playing two playthroughs. First Corvo then emily
im gonna play emiliy then corvo
I've heard Emily's powers are better and her story interests me more. I'll be playing her first.
Six Playthroughs: Loud, Stealth, and Powerless for both Emily and Corvo. Not sure who I'm going to start with yet.
So if you think about it at least we're getting 2 games in one, and at most 6 games in one.
I entered the mansion without pulling the lever:
playing as corvo, when I entered the mansion (the second room, where the lever is), instead of pulling it I used blink to dash into a space-between-walls
it helps so much, SO MUCH
just don't get caught by no one (stealth) and Jindosh won't even know you're inside the mansion
I have a habit of always looking for secrets before progressing in the level and ended up finding the space in the walls as well. It makes the level so easy.
There's an achievement for taking out Jindosh without him ever knowing you're there, although it's still possible to do an undetected stealth playthrough even if he knows you're there... Apparently alerting him by pulling levers or stepping on tiles doesn't qualify as a detection, you have to actually be seen.
@@isaacbruner65 just sneak up behind me (I don't even know how but I did that twice), stealth kill him (I stealth kill jindosh, I only kill the key characters I don't like ) and gg
Man, Andys ending was brutal... Making Jindosh alone in a house he created and his own inventions, but will never know he made them.
More and less than you'd think. Apparently, what that machine actually does is essentially give the person it's used on a lobotomy. That genius intellect is gone for good, and Jindosh is basically childlike at this point. I'd feel bad, but given he's tested it out on other people, and was planning to use it on Sokolov, this is honestly karma. On the bright side, he's still got some human staff to look after him, and apparently, he's actually a lot nicer like this.
What Mike lacks in subtlety he makes up for in sheer determination. He found that whale oil and god dammit he was gonna use it. Respect to you Sir
When Mike says things like "Got to be careful with this stuff; it's *extremely* flammable!" you know it's going to be a fun episode. :D
Andy is applying the classic loophole argument to the clockwork soldiers. but how do you KNOW they don't have feelings? what if they are on the verge of sentience.... never mind just smash the fancy toasters!
In reality there are 2 game modes
1- First time, exploring the map. Casually inhailing the story
2- Killing_stuff/Sneaking_around in unexplicatly gorgeous fashion
It is always enjoyable to watch the contrasting play styles, yet the manner in which the video is cut and edited makes outsidexbox all the more enjoyable. Of course the commentary is also spot on.
That was awesome on both your parts. Can't wait for more, loved for Dishonored 1 videos!
From my experience, Emily is way easier for non lethal (unless destroying clockwork droids is considered 'killing') and Corvo is better for just head on attack. Both are really cool though
If it's the same as the original Dishonored, anything non-human (so rats, dogs etc) doesn't count as a kill, so I'm assuming you can kill as many clockwork robots and blood flies as you want
Its been confirmed by Harvey that killing Clockwork Soldiers don't count as a kill. So you can go ahead and kill them with extreme prejudice and still aim for a pacifist run.
Alright thanks. I just wasn't sure while I was playing.
So you've played? How does the overall movement feel? A lot of people are saying it looks slow and sluggish.
DeathSwagga
As long as you have your sensitivity turned up really high, it's perfectly fine.
I personally had it on 100 (which is the max) and I thought it was great.
was it just me or did anyone else have a flashback at 10:52 when Corvo says Sokolov.......Just like MGS 3 Snake eater.
He actually went back for the whale oil wow just wow thats dedication
❤️ Andy & Mike
Mike has me cracking up, but Andy is my playing-style soulmate.
I swear, I watch more Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra than I do actual television shows (or anything else on CZcams). Love it. Keep up the good work!
"I am still with you- and I have grenades. Same can't be said of your guards."- Mike.Shame on Jindosh, not properly equipping his guards. Be more like Jane. Grenades are mandatory in Jane's personal army!
"I need to eliminate these snacks"
"are you vaping out of your thumb"
love these guys their quotes
Loved the parallel commentary XD I was dying.
Mike: "I'm trying to do something elaborate."
Because that's always worked out for you so well in the past.
Well, he didn't break a sweat this time so there's that.
shall we gather for cigar and whisky tonight?
Ha Quang "Never doubt it"
Indeed, I believe so.
Ha Quang chances are very likely
Blow off chopper
Choffer
I'm pretty sure that the union of clockwork droids have something to say about andy saying they had no feelings and didn't count as killing when he eliminated them
Yet another awesome video, I love how Andy's pretty much like "I'll be stealthy and do it the proper way, and Mike, well, he'll just ruin everything like he always does".😂 I love Mike's way of playing.😂
like the editing on this. good to see you lot evolving on your "# ways to play" form.
Just so you know, there is a special achievement if you eliminate Jindosh without him even knowing you are there. When you first activate the switching rooms, get behind the walls ASAP. Then find the passage to him without stepping out into the shifting areas or alerting guards.
I find myself marvelling at the architecture in this game every single time!
"You seem taller and more robot-y than I was expecting...
...
...Oh! That's not you."
wow thanks guys you both made that so entertaining x
Whale Oil is the only video game escort quest that Mike ever actually cared about...
This LP is brilliant in so many ways.
I'm extremely excited for Dishonered 2, I love the first one and can't wait to see where this one goes and it's so nice to see empress Emily all grown up
Mike with that damned oil! You earned that one, mate. Love this channel!
Man, Andy's run was suprisingly smooth!
Loved what I played of this at EGX, this was the same demo. Thanks for getting video of it.
Really elegant execution there mike
I was waiting for Mike to do a long distance shot like in the first dishonor game. Stuff of legends
Mike you missed the "Whale whale whale, what do we have here." pun when you found the three whale oil canisters. You did well with the "whale of a good time" though.
Pre ordering this is going to be so worth it.
It's released the day after my birthday so I swear this game is built just for me. So hyped!
Side note: Any idea whether Emily has a dark vision like ability or will we have to rely on good ole observation?
Makes me wonder if they'll give her something similar but with a different name/slightly different uses.
It's not blink, it's long reach!
Also am I the only one who got that power in Dishonored and immediately thought "Eagle Vision"?
+Soulstealer56 She does have dark vision, I just didn't have enough runes to unlock it on this run! - Andy
outsidexbox Well... I think i might leave if off then. Im running through the brigmore witches at the moment without void gaze and its so much better
I was thinking the exact same thing about this game, only it's three days before mine
+Soulstealer56 wow I just read your second comment and it exactly applies to me too. Twinsies!
Awesome video
Guys, the reason why Sokolov doesn't just escape using the panel is because he knows he'd get brutally murdered by the Clockwork soldier guarding the assessment chamber. Jindosh actually puts a note by his bedside taunting him about it.
The gameplay looks really solid.
"I'll get my ride photo when I exit the level." lmao subbed
"Burial By Mechanical Platform At Sea".
Beautiful :D
Can you guys do more of these style of videos? They are so funny and it is great to see two styles of play
I agree with Andy's play style more but always enjoy Mike's commentary as he does the deed of killing everything in sight. Plus the commitment to carrying the whale oil around was impressive.
That corpse pile really takes me back to the first dishonored
That was absolutely brilliant. Both of you nailed your playstyle perfectly. If only Hitman No Subtitle went this well, eh?
Man it sucks this doesn't come out till November. That playthrough just took it to my number 1 most anticipated game.
Mike's reaction when he saw the three units of whale oil after having carted one around for a large part of the level was priceless.
I'm actually impressed he didn't manage to blow it up before then though, given his history.
Mike put a lot of effort into carrying that whale oil, bu the end result was so worth it :)
The graphics look waaaaaay better than in the first one! Really looking forward to it!
Can't wait to do this game Non-lethal and Ghost. Was fun getting those achievements in the last game.
Corvo is voiced by Stephen Russell, who also voiced Garrett from the first three Thief games. Truly, this game will be outstanding.
that painting you found with Anton Sokolov was of the crown killer
I like how Andy spares murders but Mike Kills anything in his path.
This looks like it'll be my goty, one of the few games I'll pre-order
So pumped for this game
Mike: "I have a plan." The scariest words ever spoken by a member of outsidexbox.
There is something terrifying about Mike saying "I have a plan..."
"stealth, the correct way" Andy, you are surely the voice for all ghost playthroughers. we are everywhere, you just can't see us.
XD The moment mike sees the oil tanks. Priceless reaction by Mike. XD
Sokolov didn't have the strength to break those wooden panels on the plates because he was beaten. Jindosh also would know about the activation of the plates and could stop him himself, or send guards after him. Plus, the Clockwork Soldier right outside his cell...
Sokolov has been through some s***. First captured by the soviets in mgs3 then by Kindosh. Poor guy...
I like how both andy and mike criticised sokolov for not leaving his cell, even though there is a note from jindosh mocking him about the fact that the panel is there but he'll just get chopped up by the clockwork soldier just outside
you got to play dishonored 2 you are so happy
I AM SO PUMPED FOR DISHONORED 2
I just did the playthrough where you never pull that first lever and I think it was a lot of fun, really immersive
this game looks AMAZING
Man the clock tower mansion was incredible in Dishonored 2, Arkane has so much attention to detail in their games 👏👏👏
That snack elimination part killed me
You guys are really amazing, I don't know how you make literally hundreds of people happy, whatever you're doing? Keep doing it.
Also could you do something on just cause 3?
And I'm going to start uploading to my channel soon it's called BreakDown, any tips?
Actually thousands of people, MILLIONS
Sorry I made that comment really long.
One of the most underrated games of this decade! I definitely enjoyed the 2 one over the 1, except my PC has such a bad FPS rate I can hardly kill anyone.
Mike playing with the walkway. priceless
andy the stealth master but mike somehow falls into the secret room and gets the key. well played :D
Mike playing stealth games is my favorite thing ever.
I'm so hyped for this game
I just love how Mike handle things in the most I want to see the world burn way hauhauhuahuahua
Now I want a roller coaster leading up to my house.
lol "you should live in a corridor and sit at one end of it, with a gun." -Andy 2016 13:45
I dunno. Andy's supposed to be the kind non-lethal way but he tortured his target and destroyed any chance he had at a pleasant life where as Mike kindly gave him a sea burial. Seems like Mike is the best one here.
Hot dang, this game is looking more awesome every time I see it!
Cool thing about dishonored is that you can play it any way you like. You kann only kill if you have to, or only kill key targets. You could also only kill anyone who gets in your way or you don't kill anyone at all. That is only a fraction of ways you can go about it and this is also only about enemies, not the game in general
