We are Heather, Bradey, Alexa and Chloe. We purchased an abandoned stone barn in the foothills of the Italian Alps and we are working together as a family to renovate and restore this old stone barn into our dream home.
Reply to Adako..we don't appreciate you negative comment.. this family is working so hard to fulfill their dream and I/we who watch eagerly every week love them. I say keep talking! ❤❤❤
lol so because you like them we all have to agree with them…..
I a gree. There has been allready mistakes but its their house so they have to live with it not me.😁@@irenekegel5988

Put dried lavender in your windowsill to keep scorpions away
Oh that’s a great tip! Thank you!
Oh wow
Fabulous tip! If it were me I would be potting up lots of lavenders now ..eeek 😂
@lorrainewalker9674 I'm from Arizona we have lots of scorpions, I'd be planting lavender all over my property. It's useful and smells great!
Maybe even plant lavender! It’s so beautiful too! I’m from Arizona as well and I have to spray often to make sure I don’t get them
You are lucky because you have bought the house in an area famous in Italy for the skill of the bricklayers. They really know their stuff.
I can’t wait to see your house finished, it will be stunning !!❤
Thank you!! 😊
I left that comment above before I had watched any of the previous videos. But now that I’m caught up I just want to say how amazing you guys are to tackle such an ambitious project! Seeing these guys start ripping a hole in the wall made my heart sink (I was actually over here on my side of the screen yelling no no, no!), but because I had watched the previous videos and knew them to be experts in Stone House construction, I reassured myself that they knew what they were doing, and survived viewing the demolition that way, lol. Phew.
It is so great that you have such fantastic and experienced construction partners to help get your home to 100% comfortable and livable!!! I’ve really been enjoying watching their skilled work! You will have such wonderful family memories being built in your home!!!
It really is! Thanks so much!
Dear Bradley you together with the team worker did a very good job on your ground floor. Since 100 years ago houses were built without a "vespaio" it's very necessary now to isolate properly a home from humidity. Ciao, all the best to you and your lovely family. ❤🎉
I am so happy to see you back and the good news that your father is in good spirits and doing better
Thank you! It’s good to be back!
❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
I enjoy and envy your extreme dream to renovate and build this beauty in Italy. Your determination is astounding. Heather and kids so helpful and I can see that you are proud of them. Blessings from South Africa.
Thank you!! We appreciate your support!
Envy n a nice way.not negative way.. thanks❤️
Welcome back, Heather! Glad your dad’s prognosis is good.
What an interesting video! I agree with Heather - it’s beginning to feel more like a house than a barn.
Thank you so much! Yes is it starting to take shape!!
you guys have come a long way and can’t wait to see the completed livable house. May Lord’s blessings be upon you all!
I would describe what this American family is doing in Italy as heroic. Great stuff. I'm watching with a great deal of interest. And I like it. At their age to move to another country with a different language and culture is to be admired.
Plus... to face all the odd burocracy here in Italy. I hope it'll go smoother for this family about it. Regards
Amazing progress. Amazing teamwork. My favorite day of the week . Waiting always for your videos to have my Sunday’s espresso coffe. Blessings from Miami
Yay! Thank you!
Hard work done right!!!! I admire all the work that you have been doing.
Thank you so much 😀
Hi from South Africa 👋👋It's lovely to have you back Heather🤗Happy that your dad is doing ok🙏🙏
Brady you must be so tired at night. You work as hard as the guys you pay to do the job. You're doing such a good job. Love you all❤❤
It’s so great to be back thank you! Yes he works so hard!!
That was an impressive video. I am amazed at how quickly things are progressing. The weather is always an interesting addition to any building site. The upstairs doorway makes sense in terms of sheer weight on the door below. Very cool.
Enjoy the coming week.
Blessed Be!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A good old Fiat Panda 4x4 is all you'll ever need to tackle any road in life
Wow!!! There is SO MUCH involved in your building process!!! KUDOS!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶🏡🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you so much 🤗
I’m an Italian living abroad for 7 years now. In my childhood I spent a lot of time hiking with my family in Corni di Canzo, not far from where you are I really miss those little salamanders.
@@user-te8ec8gj4wand safety I agree 👍
You can tell that Heather is such a beautiful person. I’m so glad her father is doing better. I’m still here, week after week, watching your progress. What am I going to look forward to watching with my morning tea before church after your home is completed?!! I am happy to see how far you’ve come. That salamander though!! I couldn’t imagine waking up to that thing. I live in Arizona so I’m use to scorpions. I just have a lot of lavender. Continued prayers for you all. Be safe 🙏🏽
Am so sorry your dad is fighting through a health issue and I do hope and pray for resorted health.
Great progress with a great team!
Such energy and determination! Really admirable. You don’t seem to get tired always enthusiastic and positive - kudos to you!
Hi from Australia, I can't believe how hard working you are. It is heavy dirty work, you and the crew who are working for you are amazing and very skilled. Welcome back Heather, I have been following you guys for quite awhile now and it's good to see your dream coming into reality. Great job sending many blessings 🙌
That cement mixer is worth its weight in gold
Prayers for your dad’s speedy healing and recovery 🙏
So glad you are using help now, it’s been such backbreaking work for you. The older gentleman seems to know what he’s doing too. Very professional. He also sounds like he’s full of mischief!
Welcome back Heather we missed you.. so happy to hear your dad has improved and we all wish him a full recovery ❤️🩹 take care and God Bless 🙏🏼
You have almost recreated a Roman hypocaust underfloor heating system. You just need to fan force warm air under through those 1m terracotta channeling and out an exit vent.
Yes, I saw a documentary once on how the ancient Romans heated their large baths or community pools & this looks very much like how they did it! But it would probably work even better as a relatively dry system ...except for the dampness that comes in from through the mountain-side walls.
Goodness. You've taken on this latest part of your build with intelligence and wisdom. Language skills, building skills, thought processes, how much we have all learnt, and this is now becoming surprising sudden. Each week we see real developments. You both look so pleased, and we are pleased for you.
So happy to see Heather is back and that her dad is doing ok. Bradey, nothing daunts you - you are amazing!
Glad to hear the good news about your dad. I will continue prayers for him.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 So happy to see you back! Your home is really coming along beautifully!❤😊
That mechanical manual operating baby dump truck is such a helpful tool. It really makes much of movement of big rocks easier and saves your back.
Great to have you back Heather your man really missed you and so did we. Best wishes for your dad’s recovery💕
Glad to see you back Heather and I am so happy your dad is getting better and I am sure Brady is happy to have you back again, I think he threw himself into his work to make the time go quickly till you came home. Love watching those contractors do their skills. Have a lovely day.
What a difference by doing the opening for the doorway . It will be stunning for sure.. Glad ti hear your dad doing ok Heather big hugs to you and your family🫂 Loved watching💯😘
Thanks so much 😊
😘
If you had known all the extra things you have had to do to keep your new home dry, would you have gone ahead with the purchase. It certainly has been a lot of physical work for everyone.
What determination you have in this project. I don’t know of anyone who would have gone through all of this work to make this into a home. The way you face each challenge is phenomenal. Also your family’s support and willingness to help you.
The skill of the trades is awesome and great to watch you must be learning so much
Heather lovely to see you take care of each other 💙❤️🩷🩷
This channel is so exciting! Pray for complete healing for your dad!
Seeing all those stones, makes you appreciate how hard the original builders must of worked without the tools we have today.
I take my hat off to you hardworking men💪🏻💪🏻
Thr fact that you keep keep lifting those huge stones, day after day, says you are not only strong but determined! Your progress is beautiful and sending prayers for your continued health and safety!
I enjoy seeing these guys work like it’s just another day. Great attitudes and skill. They work silently with such momentum and seemingly in unison. On this ancient stone house like it’s any other normal home they’d be building. It’s beautiful.
I was wondering if you could maybe put a water proofing coating on that back wall, like when someone wants to waterproof a basement, that might just work, will save you alot of work and a headache, you might need a little bit of other work or several coats of sealant, I think you should consider it.
Heather and the girls had the most fun pouring the concrete. Something they will always remember!
Fantastic to see that Heather smile! I'm blown away by how fast things are moving along. It's so exciting! Relieved Heather's dad is doing better. Continued prayers. ❤😊
Thank you so much! You are so kind!
Welcome to the world of remodeling! There’s a reason they call it a four letter word, WORK!😂👍
Hello from Canada
Thoroughly enjoy watching your channel. From what we can see you are both wonderful parents . Thank you for bringing us along for your journey.
Prayers for your father.
🇨🇦❤️🙏🏻
The "waiting" is a big part of the experience. Tuning in to the slow steady revolving rhythm of life on Earth is the key to happiness, in my humble opinion. Your progress has been remarkable and careful and thoughtful. Speediness is not an essential part of the journey, and impatience doesn't help at all. Enjoying the process is key!
Thank you for sharing all of this with us!
Totally agree. I’m very happy that machinery is being used , doing it by hand ….! Love the process , the transformation and you are living your dream ….
What a fantastic works. BRAVO gentlemen. Hope the wheather will be better
Bon courage and stay safe.
Thank you very much!
Super terrifying watching the doorway being reopened! I expected the whole house to collapse!😬
Love your family and videos. I appreciate a hard working family. Much love from Kentucky, USA😁
Thank you! We appreciate your support!
This is one of my favorite channels! I love following this Journey you guys are on. Wow!! All the hard work but I know it’s going to be worth it!! Thank you for all you do so that we could go along in this Journey. ❤👍🏼
Oh Lordy, thank goodness the rain came in now and not later!!!! Awesome!!!
Hello, Good Morning it's wonderful to see you again. I hope everyone is well and I am sending well wishes and hugs to all from Michigan. Let's Go, You got this!
Heather, I am in recovery from cancer last year was hard, to say the least, but that said I am thankful your videos helped me a great deal. The treatments are difficult but with a good support system, a positive mindset, and understanding you most likely will feel worse to get better strangely helped. Eyes on the prize, restored health, and time with your family and friends. Thank goodness for the doctors, since medical advances and everything else it is a battle that can be won to varying degrees. Praying for you and your family.
Thank you so much for sharing and for your prayers! Your support means so much to us!
I wish you well
Melissa; my prayers are with you too. I also live in Michigan and am very grateful for the medical services we have here. God bless ❤
A can of worms, bordering on a hilarious folly! May your incorrigible positivity protect you from despair!
Ha!.... Sounds like it's YOU who has the wrong attitude here... not them.....!!!
I'm so glad you don't have to do all that new flooring on your own, Brady! Sending you love & healing energy for your father, Heather. 🙏😍🌈
hard work done, wife back after everything. Much respect for you doing everything alone!
Brady I almost had a heartattack when they were puling that door down! Question: I can't remember, did you know there was a door there already???
Heather, you're back, I've Missed you. Sending good vibes and prayers to your Dad. Can't wait to see the girls!
Hello guys!! As I have already written previously, you must be patient, even if things proceed slowly everything will work out. Keep it up!! A big kiss to the girls and a warm greeting from Pavia.
Thanks so much!!
Nice to see Heather back, wishing your Dad a successful recovery. I think the concrete floor that Heather and the girls did was great and very important as the new floor has gone on top of it. Good that you were able to change plans slightly to create the french drain for the additional leak you found. The opening of the door was very dramatic and I found that a bit scary, seeing how easily the bricks fell, hope opening more and larger areas goes well x
I’m glad you’re getting help with the building work even though it will cut into your budget. By the way I’m very impressed with your Italian. 😊
Have you considered leaving this stone building as it is, now that it has been fortified, and making the addition to the house the main living space? I think it will be easier to build with modern materials which allow for more window light, better insulation and easier installation of modern utilities and wiring. You could use the stone structure as a storage space for tools, a work studio or a summer house. You can spend a lot of money trying to insulate and water proof that structure, and it will still be dark, cold and small. Or completely fail in is waterproofing or something else.
I love the 'can-do' attitude, skills and work ethic of the craftsmen helping you with this project. The are an inspiration, and seem to be enjoying what they do.... Instead of packing up and going home early, they say "Hey, let's get this door knocked out!" Not taking anything away from you and your family. You too are inspiring to watch all the hard work you do...
Wow what a lot of work. So many changes. Welcome back Heather…glad to hear your dad is stabilized. I really enjoy watching your progress.❤️🇨🇦
I admire your tenacity! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing all this process Brady. Unbelievable how much work all this is. My Back hurts only from watching 😂
Best wishes for you and your Girls 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job! And Heather , I hope you’d dad will do wonderfully on his healing ❤️🩹
Wow! You guys made so much progress. The arch door will be beautiful! Good to hear your father is doing better. 🙏
Such a difference removing those walls. It looks fantastic. You have really hard working people working along side you too. It will be a lovely home.
So much work for such a little summer house !
How exciting!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🙏🙏🙏🏡🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Brady & Heather, I feel your excitement!!!!
Congratulations on this new milestone on your house and am so thrilled that you all have now reached this new milestone of experiencing the actual openness, light and flow of your house.
I am taking a week mini-pause in my own 170 yr. old house restoration, and vicariously living this Italian Stone House journey with your family. ❤
Best wishes from India. I’m so glad that Heather’s papa is doing good and it’s good to have you back. What an amazing transformation will that be to your home with a huge opening with an arch👍🏼 can’t wait to see all those beautiful rocks used to build the wall. Looking 👀 forward to your next video🙂
Wow some hard working men. I’m impressed. I bet they have no trouble sleeping at night.
Construction worker from bergamo and brescia are the best in italy, and italians are the best in the world...he got lucky to be in the right place, is the only place in italy were building is a family tradition
Fantastic job today despite all the rain! Lots of progress.👍
Heather, sending wishes for your father's health.🤗❤
It look like it would be less expensive to build a new house, but I think it,s worth it....much courage to you...
As An Owner of a very old home …….. I know ……. you could never build the quality of materials and craftsmanship that is found in older structures …… the stones alone in this building ……. imagine the cost off that first
Great progress !!!!
Your story is delightful, your work is so honorable! Bless you!!!
Wow, you guys have had a lot of progress with the floors. It’s good that it rained a lot to identify the rain seeping into the kitchen space and you taking action on that issue! This rebuild is amazing and nothing I’ve ever seen before. Thanks for sharing this experience with us.
Awesome!😊
You have the best attitude! It is so inspiring to watch you go through this. "We can just jackhammer it later" -- wow!
Amazing, love the going on ❤
I have to admire your work ethetic
I appreciate that

Making good progress and you seem quite excited..
Missing Heather's laughter and the kids playing around...
Great progress this week and good to hear it's lifted your spirits, the job you have chosen to turn this barn into your home is monumental and would be daunting to most people but you both have a vision and wonderful to see it starting to move along so quickly. Healing hugs and prayers to your Dad, Heather, and I hope he continues to improve each day xx
I just love watching all this.
Really enjoyable Thankyou Dave
(Where is this taking place?!)
Someone mentioned where, but what region? Perhaps Northern Italy, where there are many very small villages, where the homes are made of unpainted stone.
It appears - very fortunately- that some people are reburbishing those buildings. They are absolutely gorgeous, so I'm so glad that there are people who are active in preserving history. (I wish I could travel to those regions so as to appreciate, in person, the beautiful villages.)
Italy
I believe they are near the Italian Alps, northern Italy.
Close to Milan @@kdclothes
Between Bergamo and Lecco area(provincia)near Monte Resegone,I supposed.
Yes i think it is Bergamo Heather mentioned once @@edobaiedo
Astounding work guys.
