Flip lock works great, keeps my toddlers inside and not escaping to the back yard to play when mommy and daddy are still asleep. But the position they have it at on the door in the video is WAY too low. Kids are smart little shits and they'll reach it there with ease with the help of a stool or chair. We had to put it up as high as we could on the door. Even then we caught our son going for the lock. After claiming it was "hot" he hasn't gone near it.
You want you're kid to run outside at any givin time, day or night or lock the door. If the door is locked from inside,an adult or responsible teen should be home when youngsters are.
There is more to these locks you gotta put a small little bolt in this lock and then you screwed it in the door jam what side does that small little boat go in too you guys don't explain nothing these videos are worthless

Great but im looking for something that operates automatically as I have other children that wont remember to flip the lock. Any Idea's?

RanJo Believer you can easily get them on amazon for a couple bucks. Most likely also at a Walmart or home improvement store should have them.
What about fire safety? Couldn't this prohibit children from leaving the house in an emergency like a fire?
