A couple fun facts: the “you should see the size of his wallet” group are wives and/or girlfriends, and husband (you met Earl’s husband in Queen in Five Minutes). Also, the guy who delivered the sandwich is Rek, the fallen friend who was honored by the Halo theme. I’m glad we got to see him even if only for a second.
I would have loved to pick the costumes as well. So fun!

This video was a love letter to the fans. It was released in June of 2019, and my understanding is that between the wardrobe and the licensing fees for all those songs, they only recently broke even on it.
This always makes me smile. I’m old enough that I remember the first portion as my childhood, the 90s for my son‘s childhood and then the last song from a friend’s grandchild. So I was able to recognize every song which delighted me to no end. Because they’re all great.
With all the bubbles and balloons it’s because it’s “Pop”. That took me several viewings before it finally occurred to me.
I love all the wardrobe changes. Especially the era of the typical 90s bands as it brought me back to my son’s childhood.
Did you catch Eli singing in Korean during the BTS portion? He spent time in Asia during his rock band touring years and seems to quite the linguist.
Earl does generally does stay way up there. Geoff used to call it Earl -land where he can never venture. But there’s a great video of one of their part-works series where they would arrange for five part harmonies but only a couple of them would sing. Geoff and Earl together did all five parts of Death of a Bachelor. So we get to hear Geoff beatbox and you hear Earl in a lower register. It is so overlooked and I’m going out to your Patreon page and put it on there too.😊
Shy boys - I was a senior in high school back in 1968 and asked a fellow out. We were together 48 yrs until colon cancer got him. Please get checked.

The guy delivering the sandwich is Rek Dunn, whom the band dedicates and talk about in their cover of the Halo theme.
All of the outfits were spot on for the groups and the choreography jokes were hilarious. This took so much effort and the transitions were so good. And of course the singing was wonderful as always. One of their most creative and entertaining efforts.
I don't think I stopped grinning once through this whole reaction -- this was _awesome_. Love the VoicePlay love!

Great reaction for a Boy Band cover- was actually pretty damn hilarious! Love all the Voiceplay you are reacting too- appreciate it!
Their other "trilogy production" worth checking out in order (tells a story) - Billie Eilish in 3Mins, Panic (at the Disco) in 4 mins (part 1) and in 2mins (part 2).
Their versions of "Carry on Wayward son" (Kansas), "Kiss" (Prince) and "In the Air tonight" (Phil Collins) are fantastic. Can't remember if you did "Norhing Else Matters" (Metallica) - imho their crowning glory.
Their Disney medleys are fantastic too - and they're the "kings of Halloween".

I think the Dirty Pop references are all thing you can/are called "pop" - balloons, bubble wrap, gum, bubbles, and POP (soda)

I may be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet Kathy said "You ARE wearing a wife-beater. I'm your wife, and I say it's okay!" Kathy understands us thirsty fans...Also, the boys are all doing "Pop" things in that scene, bubblegum, balloons, bubbles, bubble wrap...wow, a lot of pop things start with the letter "B" don't they? They're also drinking soda, which in some regions is also known as "Pop" or "Soda Pop."
From BTS, social media posts, and video chats, I'd be willing to bet that half of Geoff's non-filming wardrobe of shirts are tank tops in white, black, and grey. 😂
@@shirleykarr560 You may be right! And I don't think you'll find anyone complaining! I do remember reading Kathy is the one who took Geoff's sleeves off his jacket in In The Air Tonight "for the fans." Yep. She gets it. Gotta love her, she's so awesome! She's also a bit of a chameleon...or maybe it's just me...she never looks the same twice in the videos she shows up in, she always looks lovely, but her looks are suited to each video!

The Beatles were just out of their teens when they came to America. George I think, was only 18. So technically, they were a boy band. 😁

I love this, it's just pure fun. However, I DO think they missed somebody. They didn't include the first fabricated boy band, The Monkees! They were known as the "Pre-fab Four" (as opposed to The Beatles, the "Fab-four") because they were put together to be America's answer to The Beatles (although Davy Jones was English), and contrary to what some people believe, they COULD play their own instruments. I was a huge fan in the 80s during their 20 year revival. I remember reading an interview with Mike Nesmith, and he said (paraphrasing) "If I'm going out onstage in front of 10,000 people, no way I'm not going to know how to play my guitar!" He and Peter Tork were musicians before joining The Monkees, Davy had some musical and stage experience (even played the Artful Dodger) and was the one they formed the band "around." He played tambourine, and Mickey Dolenz,(the last living Monkee) who only had TV experience, learned to play the drums. Their show was a lot of fun, their music generally positive and upbeat. I'd love to see Voiceplay do one of their songs, I think they have a lot in common. And I think Voiceplay would rock their own TV show!
Yes! I loved The Monkees when I was growing up, I learnt to play 'Daydream Believer' on a keyboard! Another from that time would be The Seekers (the Aussie originals), they had some great songs, and Judith Durham's voice was so good!!
@@raycardy4843I used to be able to play "Daydream Believer" on the piano, but don't recall anymore. I was thinking it would be cool for Geoff to do, but then realized I'm not sure a Deep Bass Cover would work for it. Davy's range was more Baritone, I think. But that's one of the few songs young people today might have heard (it still gets a lot of radio play), that and "I'm A Believer" because of "Shrek." I STILL think they should have used The Monkees' version in it. But they have a lot to choose from. "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone" could be cool.

Earl usually stays in the upper range, yes. However, the Moana video shows off a bit of his ability to sing in a somewhat lower register. Not, like, Geoff notes or anything, mind you; but lower than what he's doing here.
The only time I’ve heard earl hit Geoff level deep is in the live Elvira video. 😂

@@R989D While Earl can get deep, he cannot go that low. If you watch the video Geoff has his back to the audience and Earl is lip-synching that note. It took me several viewings to catch that.

This one is so entertaining and I was surprised that Geoff and Eli can dance. Layne and Earl were a bit on the struggle bus lol But yeah, Earl was their high tenor and he has yet to be replaced. He may be irreplaceable. 🤷🏻♀️

Can't let that one go. Why can't a white person do temptations? They choose for the voice, not the colour. I mean, Some don't consider the Beatles or the Jackson 5 to be Boy Bands, but how could theyvresiist using Earl's voice to do early MJ? It had to be done!
