    I think now with ssd no need to sleep mode on Mac/PC &should be removed from OS. Hibernate mode is power efficient & the user work restoration is guaranteed

    With hibernate, if you have a power outage, the computer will restart your session where it left. With sleep mode, it will completely reboot. Also, with sleep mode you are wearing the computer memory faster because the RAM never turns completely off in sleep mode even if it stays with very low current, you are keeping your RAM on 24/24 7/7

      I loved using hibernate when my laptop had a hard drive, but when I switched to SSD I hesitate using hibernation mode because I'm afraid it will wear out my SSD. I wish Windows allowed changing the location of the hibernation file, but according to my research they don't.

    As you presented I don't see why anybody will choose "shut down". It seems like the "hybernate" option is cutting power and keep all the files in RAM. Which is good. Also you say that over night you will choose "shut down" because you want your computer to be "in the best possible running state". Wait a minute: so "hybernate" means my computer will not be in the best possible running state? Than why would I choose "hybernate" even for couple of hours. The starting time would not be too much longer.

    • @bayramodeberdiyev3825
      @bayramodeberdiyev3825 Před rokem +4

      It's the files and the apps. When you shut down, it closes all the apps and files. But in hybernate, you can return back to your working setup just like it was before hybernating. Everything still open, files, apps, tabs... You don't even have to save your work before hybernating. You can keep working on it when you come back. And it comsumes zero power. But it takes time waking back from hybernation. This is the best option if you have a fast SSD hard drive.
      Sleep is the same idea, everything still open. The difference is, it goes to sleep faster, wakes up faster, but consumes power while sleeping.
      Shut down is necessary every now and then just to refresh the computer.
