      Although if you can fit a semi rigid rain protector, crash bars that can serve as mounting points for anti theft stealth and weather panels and a easy access locking panel to let you easily access the controls and cockpit you could turn your bike into a nice safe garage and stick the anti theft thing ontop of it

    I've had the disk lock for a while now, but the fidelity of the keys is such that it's actually pretty finnicky to unlock. And if you don't unlock it within 5 seconds, it blasts you with the alarm. It was giving me anxiety every time I wanted to go for a ride. AND THEN, it started to arm itself even though the lock was open. So i'd throw it under my seat and it would start screaming as I drove down the road. I ended up just gutting the alarm and now I just use the lock itself. The lock is great, but I can't endorse the alarm. Hearing it again in this video triggered my PTSD.

      @@luc1ferblack Have the 8077. It has two flaws: 1) There's holes easily accessible where the noise comes out. Spray some glue in there, or just put your fingers over the holes, and it makes a lot less noise. 2) The time from starting to lock it, to fully armed is too damn short. I've heard my alarm many times now, all because I was locking/unlocking my bike. If you don't have a very easy to hook onto brake disc, or have the optional additional chain, then you're most likely going to hear your alarm go off right near your head, quite often when you try to lock your bike. :(

    • @Toureebo
      @Toureebo Před 4 lety +2

      When you put it under the seat it will arm itself if something, like a strap, rolls in its gap. Also, even disc locks need some maintenance... If the mirror part gets dirty from water stains, it needs to be cleaned, otherwise it arms. I find it very good, the last 4 years and I have witnessed it to save my bike and its accessories many times.

      I’m hope that things have gotten better in the two years since this came out but since you have a cover that unlocks for changing the battery why wouldn’t there be an adjustment for sensitivity and the timer to unlock. Hey! The audio pack has Sena's new universal intercom software, meaning it *should* work with the Scala Q1 (I haven't personally used the two devices together). The only downside I foresee is that you'll only be able to record your own voice. As opposed to people who use the GP10 with a Sena comm, which lets them record the voices of other riders in their group as well. ~RyanF9

    I've had an alarmed disc lock for 15 years and it's fun to watch the nimrods when they are lurking around my bike and trying to move it or just screwing with grips or levers. The kids head for the hills. The idiots back away and try to look innocent and the girls scream, fall to the ground then jump around like their pants are full of ants, especially when a 6 foot 265 pound beast appears. "Don't touch the bike"!

    Does the gopro case allow for constant charging? Also I just bought and love the "flash2pass" garage door opener you should check it out.

      The waterproof case does not. Although the new GoPro 5 is waterproof all on its own, so that changes things. Cool - I'll check it out! ~RyanF9

    I own the lock mentioned and even though it is built tough, the draw back it false alarms like crazy. I had to pull the battery out use it as a regular lock

      @oozorakyou Před 5 lety

      own 2nd lock now, yes, sometime it will trigger out of blue, but still use it without battery so the theft will think twice to touch my bike even though that lock alarm is actually disabled lol.

    Hey man, I really like what you are doing....Great MotoVlog
    I wanted to ask you about the sena audio system you have?is it worth buying it?
    Thanks Michael.

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  Před 8 lety +1

      It depends how much you care about audio quality. The SENA GP10 is a slick system and if you already have a comm mounted on your helmet, it's definitely the easiest way to record your voice during motovlogs. But if you *don't* have a comm system already mounted, it's just as easy to buy a lav mic and run it up into your helmet. You'll get better audio quality from that, as opposed to the SENA. Depending what you hook your lav mic to, you'll probably get a longer talk time from that option as well. ~RyanF9

    Hi, correct me if i'm wrong but the anti-thief device seems quite useless, usually motorcycle theft load the motorcycle in a van and bring it to a garage to take it apart/look for devices like this one. Few steal motorcycles to have a night or two of "fun" to then abandon the bike. It will be best if the device could track the last position on a map on a smart phone or something.
    The lock looks good but i guess i could use it only without battery here in nyc :)
    Thanks for the vid.

    Hi Ryan
    Whta do you use to record your Vlogs on your Motorbike? It looks like a Session with some kind of Audio setup!

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  Před 7 lety +2

      Hey Peter! Yep, I use a Hero Session and a Hero4 Silver. For audio, it's the exact same setup as we used to make this video - a Zoom H4n connected to a lav mic. When I'm vlogging I just tape the lav mic to the inside of my chin bar rather than clipping it to my shirt. Cheers! ~RyanF9

      Cheers Ryan. I just wish the comms like Sena or the one I have UClear had this capability, which it should seeing that it connects via Bluetooth

    I have the Sena Backpack but don't use it anymore because it filter out exhaust and engine sound too well. I wanna hear my V-Twin and my voice! Running a regular lapel mic will do the trick.
