    I love configuration videos, don't find them boring at all. Love to learn why a buyer orders a certain option over another.

      Hopefully my feedback on just ordering a fairly standard car helps other choose how they would do it. My reasons are always personal choice so if that helps others decide either way how they would option the same car that’s great.

    Thank you SO much for explaining the whole process. I've been thinking of buying a Taycan but wasn't sure if I could go to my center and configure it there and get some help from the rep!

      @Get10Yards  Před rokem +1

      No problem. It’s a painless process really you can do so much now with the configurations online to see how it will look in real life. They will just walk you through the same at the dealer so you can alway play with combinations by loading a code. The order process is very easy to follow and see on the app or the website once the order hits production slot.

    When I ordered my 911 (992) they sent me a hardback book of the spec that I had ordered. I did the spec on the configurator and then talked it through with Chris. My son in law (in the very near future) has the GT4. It is so different to the 911, which I know you have just sold. It is noisy, it is difficult to get in and out of (at my age) with carbon seats, it is uncomfortable and it is SO EXCITING. Look forward to the updates.

      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety

      Ah I never got a book. I only got the paper weight in the post with the car vin number on it. Did you get one of those?
      I did sit in a GT4 with those seats in the dealer when I still had the 992. They were difficult for me too! Does he daily drive that car or is it more weekend fun?

  • @MJ-bb8op
    @MJ-bb8op Před 2 lety +1

    Yes they still do the hardback brochure, I have one for the 718 and 992. Although they don't contain the 4.0 GTS or the 992 C2/4

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety

      Ah okay that's good then I will try and get some next time I am there. I like to keep them for cars I have owned. When I originally tried to get a 718 one they had thrown them all out as it was when they were redeveloping the centre! Thanks for letting me know!

      @@Get10Yards I actually went in and they had a 718 GTS 4.0 next to a 992 C2 in the showroom, so I had a look around them then one of the guys came over and ended up having a chat with him for about an hr about pros and cons of each and the spec levels etc and on leaving he told me to hang on, he has a present for me and gave me the two brochures. It worked as went back there few months later and ordered a C2. So im sure they will have one for you.

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety

      I think someone else has voiced their struggles with an outstanding order too. Different centres have different sales allocations due to their sales numbers, I knew I had nobody in front of me at my dealer for a 718 GTS but a massive list for 992 cars. So I gambled on the 718 for an allocation. Hope you manage to get one, where abouts is your order placed?

  • @bernardvreulink2457
    @bernardvreulink2457 Před rokem +1

    Steve, do I understand you correctly? There is a APP (made by Porsche) that keeps you informed on the construction progress of the Porsche you ordered? If correct, PLEASE give me the name of the APP so I can also keep track of the progress of my 718. Thanking you advance.

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před rokem

      You can track it through the website by signing up to a porsche account. If you give them that email or use the same email that you put on your order forms it should then be attached to your account. You then just log in to your account and it will give you tracking of your order. If you download the porsche app you will see the same as if yob logged into the website online. If it doesnt show then just get in touch with your centre.

    Loving your vids - just found your channel! Did you see the lotus Emira and did you consider it at all before ordering the GTS?

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety +1

      I never looked any further into it to be honest as I think I saw that the initial numbers were already sold out. I would like to see a one once things return to normal in the market place. Might be some used ones around by then! I put the GTS order in as a place holder after the 992 went but I got lucky and my dealer got me an allocation. Others are still waiting so fingers crossed my build date of the end of April still goes ahead with what is happening in Europe. Thanks for watching, I hope the ownership feedback is useful!

    Strange- I put my deposit down on a manual Cayman S back in late October and only got confirmation that Porsche picked up my order (Stage 1/4) ten days ago. I would think your wait for a GTS 4.0 would be much longer than mine, not much shorter. My dealer told me that ETA Was pushed back from April to June before this.

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s just a demand verses sales percentage based on the volume sold at each dealer. There was a long list of deposits for macans and 992 models at my dealer but next to no 718s.

  • @andrewwardlaw
    @andrewwardlaw Před 2 lety

    How long from ordering did it take for your order to show in the My Porsche App? I ordered my 911 on Monday but it's still not showing. Dealer said it might not appear till a build slot is scheduled which doesn't seem right?

    • @Get10Yards
      @Get10Yards  Před 2 lety

      I believe they are correct. When you say order do you mean put your deposit down at the dealer? Or you confirmed your final build option for the factory? As i believe mine started in the app after my final build was confirmed with the dealer. They submitted the order to the factory to start the process. That’s when my app started. Once it was confirmed by the factory. The build slot confirmation started part 3 of the app.
      Time wise though I don’t think it was long after it was confirmed as an order with the factory that it kicked in. Double check you have the same email address on your app as you have on you forms with the dealer too.

      @@Get10Yards Ah ok, yeah just put the deposit down. Ok that makes sense thanks!
      Unfortunately (although expected from watching your videos and comments on here with others) the delivery date is “Somewhere in 2024” but that is as good as they can say at the moment so probs won’t get a build slot for a while. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to book my session down at Silverstone to tide me over :) Thanks again.
