I believe those clips are "alice" clips. They were before the MOLLE system. Most your stuff from the 80' back were using these. Looks like a nice cleaning kit. My oldest daughter gave me a similar cleaning mat for Christmas. I have a bunch of others, but this one's by far my favorite. Looks identical, just a different name on it. Good stuff!

@@NoblesTx Unfortunately I didn't get the "cool" rollmarked model, but mine is a tad cleaner, and you can NEVER have too many AR's! 👍 I do like that purplish color that they turn with heavy usage though! 🤟
Yeah I would not use a steel cleaning rod unless it was an emergency! Still a well put together package. Just grab some brass rods and your are good to go👍🇺🇸

I have used steel rods on my ar if it's chrome lined you can use the steel rods just pull the rods thru the bore not push
