FYI: We had over a thousand with only 3 weeks notice, no help from outside organizations, no corporate sponsors like the tea baggers.
2nd: 90% of these protesters HAD insurance and their premiums have gone up so fast they can hardly afford to pay them, and even as their premiums go up, they get less coverage. Thats wrong.

3rd: Nobody forces you to own a car, which is why mandated auto insurance is not a problem. Everyone has health problems in their life and its totally unpredictable, which is why EVERYONE needs decent affordable healthcare. The people at this rally don't want to deal with the insurance companies, we'd rather deal with the government which is at least SOMEWHAT accountable to the public.

The public option was what this rally is for, and its just that, an OPTION. We would like the CHOICE to get insurance from someone who isn't looking to profit off our illness. And don't bring up this "private companies can't compete" bullcrap. The public option would not be subsidized in any of the proposals, it would take premiums and use those to pay claims. And private schools, colleges, UPS, and Fed Ex do quite fine competing against the government.
